When X7 and its Group Editing mode first came out, there were grumblings about the "Closing Document" dialog that appears when clicking on the little "X" found on the Edit Inside tab.
I am sure most folks have found that can all be bypassed (assuming you want to keep the edits you just made). But for those that haven't, simply click the Save Icon in the Standard Toolbar.
I'm drawing a blank here...anyway, I just got a new laptop (mac), and am loving it. I've gone and put XDP6 into fullscreen mode (by mistake) and can't figure out how to get out of it.
Of course I don't have a keypad, and I've not figured out how to customize the shortcut away from numpad 8.
I'm using P&GD2013. I draw with a wacom tablet and use the freehand brush tool in sketch mode with pressure enabled. I want to edit the properties of the brush . The help pages are quite clear except that I can't access the dialog box because the 'edit brush' button is greyed out.

View 9 Replies View Relatedtrying to mask a certain area of a face with another picture, so I use the quick mask tool to paint in the area, but when I exit it and enter standard mode, there is nothing selected. It does however act as if there is a selection, because the other layer only is added to that section.
Also, I don't know if this is related to the other problem, but when I move another image into the original one to create two layers, then select the overlay blending option, I am happy with how it looks. However, after adding the layer mask, the other layer is really pale around the masked area.
Sometimes when I'm exiting from a sketch, the entire model goes back to isometric view. Is there a way to STOP this from happening?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI downloaded multi-batch as someone here said they like it for batch plotting. Once installed, however, it has changed a setting in AutoCAD. I can no longer open more than one drawing at a time. If I have a drawing open and try to open another drawing it asks me if I want to save the current open drawing.
I can not close a drawing either without exiting AutoCAD or trying to open another drawing. I un-installed multi-batch but it did not fix the problem.
I accidentally hide that bar at top of screen that lets me hide/close multiple documents... I pressed something, but I don't know what - it's tough to hide PS now (Version CS6)

I've made a fairly extended action that consists of several groups/folders. Unfortunately, the action leaves one group in particular open, and I would prefer it closed.

When I select "open" from the menu, the "open" dialog box opens and then immediately shuts. I can't open a document in Illustrator. Also, this has been happening in other dialog boxes, such as save as....
Creative Cloud indicates my software is up to date.

I'm having the same problem with XPX and just cannot seem to find what I may hae changed. Having that ability was sometimes a lifesaver.
View 3 Replies View RelatedIn older versions of xara you could set the duplication distance to 0 X 0 for all documents. In the new Pro 7 it appears that the duplication can only be set for each document. Am I missing something? I always want the duplicated object to appear on top of the original. Can I do that somehow (without having to set that per document?) Also, the help files say that Control D will duplicate like it used to in xara xtreme, but I can't get that keyboard command to produce results. Is this a glitch or is it intended that way? Control, Alt, D does duplicate but that's clumsy.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI was trying to play around with the software to get to know it, and... well, I think I made something weird in it. Everything was flowing nicely when I was following the tutorial about Editing Objects: I created a box, I selected that edit poly option from the modify tab and I could edit vertices totally nicely.
But then, I really don't know what happened, but, I don't know exactly when, I suddenly could not move the vertices AT ALL. They are pretty visible, but when I select them, they turn red and the axis are not editable! I'm so confused! I can edit the axis very normally if I'm using an option like Select and Move but... With the edit poly thing I just cannot! I tried everything I thought of: Made a new box, restarted the program, restarted the PC! But NOTHING worked.
EDIT: It took me almost an hour to figure out I wasn’t selecting the Select and Move tool!
I am running 2012 and my group dialog box is nowhere to be found. (I opened 2011 and the dialog box pops up)
I just get a command prompt to select objects or [Name/Description]: -group gets me command line as usual. I enter a lot of legal descriptions and set them as various named groups for boundary analysis. Selecting the various groups via dialog is much easier. I have checked system variables but I cannot find anything I need to change. I have searched the discussion groups also but could not find any info.

Sometimes when I use the freehand or shape tool to outline an object I want to cut out it doesn't turn black. I have magnified the objects before looking for a possible break in the line but don't ever find one. So I usually just end up reloading the photo and usually have success which is a pain.
View 2 Replies View RelatedIn the Page & Layer Gallery there are the small eyes to make objects Visible or not. If for example a document has one layer so Layer 1, closing the Visible eye beside the layer, all objects disappear. Which is anyway my target, just in this way the eyes beside individual objects became gray, saying that "click parent to show".
Is there maybe way to close all objects visible with one step, but be able individually open them after? As I can see this works only on that way that if the individual objects are closed one by one, in that way can be opened one by one, but if closed in one on layer level, in that case can be opened only on that level. I would like to avoid close all objects one by one
to change the Blend Mode on a "Folder". I'm assuming they meant a Group since there's no option labeled "folder" that I'm aware of. How is this possible? When I right-click a Group I do see an option for "Blending options" but it's always grayed out.

Normally, I have the three windows icons in the top right (minimise, maximise and close) and these normally operate on the whole of the Xara window. (If I minimise, then Xara minimises to the task bar and I see my desktop etc.)
However, today, if I click on minimise, then the drawing (within Xara) minimises, and I'm left with the Xara window but no buttons to minimise, maximise or close the whole window .... it's just there and the only way I can see behind it is to drag the sides in or use FILE / EXIT to close the program.
After editing a photo, when I try to close down, the edit screen will not go away. How can I get it to close, other than shutting down the computer?

As I remember somewhere read that there is some way of it without ungrouping, however now reading the Designer Pro help it seems that is needed
To add more objects to a group
Select the group.
Ungroup ("Ctrl + U")
Select the extra objects.
Group again ("Ctrl + G")
Basically this group is a repeating object on several pages so maybe would not touch that with ungrouping, but of course if there will be no other choice
I see that the new default blending mode when you create a Group From Layers is Pass Through. I will never use this configuration, and would prefer to set my default to Normal.
View 1 Replies View RelatedIf I have some items that are grouped. In XDP6, I used to be able to double-click on one part of it and edit the colors etc. If text was grouped, then you could double-click on the text and edit that.
Well, in XDP7, if you double-click on a part of grouped objects, you are now taken to another page called 'Edit Inside...'
I don't want to be taken to another page because the things I wanted to be able to see at the same time are on the original page.
Is there a way of stopping this annoying 'Edit Inside..' page opening up?
Is there an easy way that I am missing to create lines around a group? For example, when I want a rectangle with rounded corners on only one side, I usually just make 2 separate rectangles, one with rounded corners, one square, then group them together. However, when you put a line around it it also makes a lines where the two meet each other. I have always worked around it by adding another square rectangle between the 2 with no lines, to cover up the lines. Am I missing something obvious?

View 9 Replies View RelatedI've created a bunch of lines which are touching each other but I can't seem to close them into a closed polyline area as I am trying to find the area of each individual profile.
I have tried moving the grips away and re attaching them, I have also extended all the lines and attempted to retrim them to ensure that they are closed, but none of this works.
The Fuzz distance is on 0, but I don't know if I am changing the profile in the units of millimeters so I am tentative to change this. But I just can't close the profiles.
In Elements 9, Edit says it cannot open because it is busy.I am supposed to close last edit, but I cannot find out what it was. Tried going through Organizer and Edit to find an "edit in progress", but there is none.

If you do this on an object that is part of a group (by using CTRL click to select inside first) then you see the clone of the object as you drag it but it disappears the moment you let go of the mouse button.
