Photoshop Elements :: Cannot Close Busy Edit Program
Jun 14, 2011
In Elements 9, Edit says it cannot open because it is busy.I am supposed to close last edit, but I cannot find out what it was. Tried going through Organizer and Edit to find an "edit in progress", but there is none.
I open a jpeg in Organizer and then move to edit. BUt then I can't figure out how to save it or close it or whatever you are supposed to do. I just got through with one by exporting it so I could use it in a Publisher project, but it's still in Organizer (PSE9) with the infamous red band. I can't get into the editor because it's busy and I have to finish editing. It's like an endless loop.
PSE12. How can I prevent the program trying to add "edited-1", etc, when I save after each edit? It's an annoyance to have to erase it before I can add what I want to add to identify what was done in each edit.
I have elements 5 and a new windows 8 computer. My downloader does not open at all when camera is connected or dows the downloader icon show up at the bottom right as before. If I go into the photoshop menu and click get photos from camera, it says camera is busy or not connected. When I first mentioned my problem someone said to download a certain service patch which I did. All that did was make the icon for the downloader go away and not it will not open at all. Is this all because of windows 8? I had XP before. If the elements 5 will not work on new window 8, then I should just get rid of it.
How do you updated CS5 extended when you keep getting a message to close the program but the program is already closed? I have tried to do the update when I first turn the computer on, go directly to Photoshop, go to update and click on that, get new screen, close Photoshop, and I still get a message to close the already closed program. I believe I have to open Photoshop to get to the update area, so I don't know how to get around this issue. (I use win8, 64 bit)
why photoshop would just crash in the middle of working or using tool or making a selection. It just stops and has an option to debug or close program and loses what you worked on since the last save and you have to restart the program.
When using CorelDraw x5 the program seems to just randomly close, with no error message or freezing. It just disappears from the screen and I have to re-open it. I cannot pin point when it is doing it, because it keeps closing upon random tasks, not like it closes every time I try the same thing like saving.
I have just installed PSP X5 and have found a couple of problems.
First one is when I close PSP the process still runs for a good 10 minutes afterwards and consumes a lot of system memory. I found this by accident after I closed PSP X5 and then decided to start it again. It wouldn't open until I closed the previous process.
Second, when I start PSP after the splash screen and the program interface appear I have to wait about 1 minute 40 seconds before I can do anything with the program.
how to improve this situation because at the moment I don't consider this acceptable?
I'm running Windows 7 32 bit with 4Gb of RAM, other than browser and email no other big program is running inthe background
Had this installed and working fine for a month or so. Just learning how to use this when today when I went to start it up it would get to the welcome box and just stop. The box was completely blank and the only way to turn the program off was to use the Task Manager to close it down. After reading a few post on similar situations - the advise was to uninstall then reinstall the software. Used the windows uninstaller, afterwards rebooted then tried to re-install.
When I put in the the DVD I get to the screen where I accept the license agreement - scroll to the bottom and check the box to accept - hit next and nothing happens. I checked the services.msc and the Application Experience is started and on automatic.Tried this in the internal and external DVD drive with the same results.
I was trying thje new lightroom 4 beta, and is been crashing everytime I try to work with it..I was editing a picture and trying to see with the before and after view, and is been crashing since then, why is that?
Just recently, upon closing PSP x5, a message window pops up, the title area usually references using the e-learning center or "Explore more ways to learn and love photography", but the window itself is empty except for the message "Do not display this message again" with a checkbox and a Close button. The Close button does not work, nor does the red X close window button. I have to go into Task Manager to finish closing the program.
I'm on a Windows 8 machine and this just started happening after months of use.
Whenever I open the Volumes Dashboard in a drawing and then close it, my cursor and my WCS compass start blinking erratically, and the program seems more apt to freeze up when I try to do other things from that point on, especially if I try to move to a drawing in another tab. If I bring back the volumes dashboard, it's fine again, but then I've got the annoying outlining of my volume surfaces that I don't want. how to handle this? Is it just an unavoidable glitch in the program?
I cannot share photos from my Elements 8.0 Organizer via email. The program does not recognize that I have an email program loaded. The computer is a new HP desktop with Windows 7 Home Premium Service Pack 1 operating system. My Elements 8 does everything I need except for the photo sharing so I don't really want to purchase a new version.
I am trying to make a simple graphic by cutting and pasting a picture into a new project, but when I open up the edit drop down menu, the options for copy or paste are not highlighted, so obviously they are not available. The only reason I can figure out is that somehow, unintentionally, I opened something on the right side that says edit/create/share. How to close this feature and in the gray rectangle box under those words, it is asking me what I would like to create. I just want to make a simple graphic, but because this project program is open I can't make the graphic I want. how to close this project program (Edit/Create/Share).
I've created a bunch of lines which are touching each other but I can't seem to close them into a closed polyline area as I am trying to find the area of each individual profile.
I have tried moving the grips away and re attaching them, I have also extended all the lines and attempted to retrim them to ensure that they are closed, but none of this works.
The Fuzz distance is on 0, but I don't know if I am changing the profile in the units of millimeters so I am tentative to change this. But I just can't close the profiles.
Whenever I edit (a copy) of an image in Photoshop CS6 from Lightroom 4.3 (Photo/Edit-In), after I save and close the image in CS6 the new psd image does not show in Lightroom. In order to see the image in Lightroom, I need to close Lightroom and then reopen Lightroom. It is almost like Lightroom needs to "refresh". Any solution that does not require me to close Lightroom? I have tried to use View/Sort by extension, filename, edit time, etc. with no effect.
When X7 and its Group Editing mode first came out, there were grumblings about the "Closing Document" dialog that appears when clicking on the little "X" found on the Edit Inside tab.
I am sure most folks have found that can all be bypassed (assuming you want to keep the edits you just made). But for those that haven't, simply click the Save Icon in the Standard Toolbar.
it usually saves to the front of my quick collection (annoying) but after I open and close lightroom a few times, it gets lost altogether (inserted some where in the middle)
Whenever I open photos from Lightroom (that already have lightroom adjustments) edit in Photoshop CC only opens Photoshop but does not open the image.
If I open Images with "Edit in Photoshop" that DO NOT HAVE Adjustments, the image will open up in Photoshop correctly. I just came from Windows to Mac.
I'm running Photoshop CS6 (13.0.1) 64bit on a MacBook Pro running OS X Lion. About 60% of the time when I try to double click a vector smart object instead of opening it up in Illustrator I get an error that says, "Could not edit original smart object because of program error." This most recent time it was a smart object from vector data I copied and pasted from Illustrator into Photoshop.
I recently noticed that when I am making small brush strokes or just cliking around with simple tools in CS4, that right after I'm done making the stroke, the busy symbol pops up for a second. Even if I don't really change any data and just click in photoshop, the busy symbol on my mouse will flash for just split second. I'm not sure if it's always been like that and I never noticed, or if it's a new thing. It's really annoying when I am making a whole bunch of tiny strokes on some photos, and it keeps poping up real quick even when the stress of of what I'm doing is comparibly nothing for the power of my computer. Does anyone else have this issue or know of ways to get rid of your mouse showing that busy signal so much?
I have a picture that I added people to from other pictures. Now I want to put this picture with the additions into a folder because I make calendars every year and wanted this picture in for the calendar. When I go into the picture and right click to try and make a copy the brushes and come up and tell me to pick a size and it looks like I am in the cloning and I cannot get out. I cannot see where I can click to say that I am finished with the editing.
