Lightroom :: Edit In Photoshop And Save Back To Program
Mar 21, 2012
it usually saves to the front of my quick collection (annoying) but after I open and close lightroom a few times, it gets lost altogether (inserted some where in the middle)
Whenever I open photos from Lightroom (that already have lightroom adjustments) edit in Photoshop CC only opens Photoshop but does not open the image. Â If I open Images with "Edit in Photoshop" that DO NOT HAVE Adjustments, the image will open up in Photoshop correctly. I just came from Windows to Mac.
How do I go back and re edit a document that I've already exported? It will not allow me to use any of the basic tools such as the blemish tool, skin softening tool, etc....
I want to use external edit (in my case: Adobe Photoshop Elements) for editing features not available in LR3 (for example: skew) and easily save back as JPG. The source in LR3 is a DNG-image. Â LR3 offers easy workflows out-to-external-editor>back-to-LR3 if you save back as TIFF or PSD. Â But, I didn't find any easy or not extremely clumsy way to saving the edited photo back as JPG to LR3 and having it organized "close" to the original/source-DNG (preferably stacked).
Okay so I downloaded some brushes and then my photoshop cs6 started to work a lot slower and it just wasn't working right at all. So I deleted the brushes but it didn't change.
So basically the problems are when I try and use a brush the brushing is delayed and when i switch tabs it won't let me back onto the program and when I try and make a simple picture with just text and a photo and then try and save for web this pops up 'This image exceeds the size Save for Web was designed for. You may experience out of memory errors and slow performance. Are you sure you want to continue?'
LR3.6 - can I save edit info for a raw photo so I can show someone on another computer? For example, I'm editing some photos and want to show someone on another computer by copying the photos onto a jump drive and bringing the drive to the other person's computer. They would then be able to open my photos in LR and see the edits I've made.
How can I move pictures without losing history (exposure changes, crop changes, etc)? I have LR4 and am using DNG files. No matter how I move files (move the folder within LR, move the folder than then re-sync in LR, etc) it always loses the History. I've searched and have found numerous "tutorials" on how to properly move files but can't seem to be able to keep the History along with it (I get the last state of the image, but not the actual history itself).Â
Whenever I edit (a copy) of an image in Photoshop CS6 from Lightroom 4.3 (Photo/Edit-In), after I save and close the image in CS6 the new psd image does not show in Lightroom. In order to see the image in Lightroom, I need to close Lightroom and then reopen Lightroom. It is almost like Lightroom needs to "refresh". Any solution that does not require me to close Lightroom? I have tried to use View/Sort by extension, filename, edit time, etc. with no effect.
PSE12. How can I prevent the program trying to add "edited-1", etc, when I save after each edit? It's an annoyance to have to erase it before I can add what I want to add to identify what was done in each edit.
In Elements 9, Edit says it cannot open because it is busy.I am supposed to close last edit, but I cannot find out what it was. Tried going through Organizer and Edit to find an "edit in progress", but there is none.
Is it possible to get the output from the MEASUREGEOM command back into an VL program? If I use:(setq angle (command "MEASUREGEOM" "a" line1 line2 "x"),
the value of the angle is displayed on the screen but is not passed back into the program and the variable "angle" is not set.Is there a way that I can set this variable?
i know that some people are saying that the .psd is a more universal file type and shouldn't have any compatibility problems, but i'm finding that this is not the case for a few files.
I'm running Photoshop CS6 (13.0.1) 64bit on a MacBook Pro running OS X Lion. About 60% of the time when I try to double click a vector smart object instead of opening it up in Illustrator I get an error that says, "Could not edit original smart object because of program error." This most recent time it was a smart object from vector data I copied and pasted from Illustrator into Photoshop.
We're having an issue with saving files using Photoshop CS6. Several of our users are unable to save, specifically on our server. They all get the "Could not save because of a program error" message. It doesn't seem to happen on the computers running Lion, but most of the people running Snow Leopard have the problem.
We've tried resetting the preferences, repairing permissions, etc. I read somewhere about unchecking the "ask before saving a layered tiff" button, but none of them seem to solve the problem.
I use Photoshop daily (7.0). Just recently, I tried to save a photo and got the message "could not save because of a program error". After getting the message again tonight, I re-installed Photoshop on a NEW computer, (went from Windows 7 to Windows 8), transferred my images and got the same message. The strange part about this is that only some of my photos can't be saved - even those taken the same day. There seems to be no rhyme or reason to it.  Details: - they can't be saved in any format. I tried jpeg, tiff, png, etc. Same message for all. - they can't be saved externally. I tried to transfer them to an external drive and got the same message. - I tried uploading it to an online editing site and renaming it, then re-opening it in photoshop. same message.
I'm trying to save a PSD to PDF however each time an error message comes up- something about a program error- I have tried closing and restarting Photoshop - converting the color destination in the PDF dialogue box but don't seem to be making headway.
Running Photoshop CS3 under Windows Vista I could not save as PDF due to a "program error" (whatever that is). Looked in C:UsersadminAppDataRoamingAdobeAdobe Photoshop CS3Adobe Photoshop CS3 Settings File PSErrorLog.txt contained the message: 2009:07:21 15:31:54 : ....sourcesPDFUtilities.cpp : 2240 : REQUIRE failed Solution: Close PhotoshopRename Adobe Photoshop CS3 Prefs.psp to Adobe Photoshop CS3 Prefs-old.pspRestart Photoshop
When I go to save a file in psd i keep getting cannot save file because of program error and when i go look at the saved file it is now something like this ~ps7574.tmp the numbers are always diffrent..but I loose my file..I cannot do anything with a .tmp file. I have unistalled and re installed and it keeps doing it..
Just ran the CS3 patch and now files are not saving. Getting a "Program Error" when attempting to Save file. Any workarounds? Would like to Save what I have been working on, including layers and masks.
I run an action to prepare my photos for FB, 500px, Photo.net, etc., which reduces image size 960 x ?, 8-bit, sRGB, and 72 dpi. I then sharpen and add copyright info. However, when I use "Save to Web" it reduces the size of the photo and strips metadata for faster loading but reverts back to a 300 dpi resolution.
I cannot go back and edit a text layer. There appears to be no way to re-edit text once you move off of the text area during it's creation. Am I missing something? Is there a great plugin to fix this deficit?
Saving a Photoshop file as a PDF for emailing to someone else has always been complicated by the number of choices to be made, and now it's become impossible. Every time I try it now, I get this message, and I have to send a jpeg instead. I've tried different files, trashed the PS prefs, tried different settings in the dialog box that pops up after I hit "save", but it is no longer possible to save a PS file as a PDF. Every single file I try to save has "a program error", for some reason. how to save a PS file as a PDF.
When attempting to save an RGB or CMYK file larger than 100M as a jpeg, an error message appears stating "Could not save a copy as C:(file name) because of a program error". Two questions:
1. Will resetting my prefences affect this error? If I try resetting my preferences, will my custom color swatches and patterns be erased?
Everytime I try to save as a PDF I get a message telling me that it could not save as "title.PDF" because of a program error. I'm using Photoshop Elements 10.
