When the senior engineer at our company opens my acad drawings all of the text justification is off.
I'm using acad 2009 mech and saving as to 2007.
He is using 2007 LT?
Can Mechanical Desktop 2009 be installed with Inventor 2013?

Using the JUSTIFYTEXT command you can change the justification of the text without changing its position. However this command is operated through the command bar of dynamic input. What I would like to do is to have the justification change in the quick properties this way.
what property do you choose to export the Text justification to SDF?

The leader is justified to the left of the text. If I drag the position of the leader head to the right hand side of the text, the leader still starts from the left hand side of the text (goes at the bottom of the text) so how would I justify the leader position of a multileader to the right hand side of the text?
I had a quick look in the properties pane earlier although am fairly busy and it is only a trivial issue.
Is there any way that you can change the default justification of dtext?

I am having trouble with a locked xref. I would like to unlock it so that I can modify for my mechanical drawing. The architectural drawing is provided in xref form from the architect and he has not left it open.
Is there a simple way I can unlock it so that I can modify it without going back to the arch?

I am using AutoCAD Mechanical 2013 and need to save a file as an AutoCAD LT 2008 for a friend to work in. I can only save it as AutoCAD LT 2004, is there a way for me to add AutoCAD LT 2008 as an option? If not is there a compatibility pack for him that he can download. There was a slight issue in the transfer. Im not doing anything that uses the mechanical features, just normal autocad features. The option for my computer is better if it is possible.

i have big problem to save in Autocad 2011, then we save in 2007 DWG format it takes up to 3-4 min even local this problem exist, reinstalled i computer totally clean, no antivirus just windows 7 and updated,even disabled fidelity. then i save in 2010 format it goes fast.

View 6 Replies View RelatedSince I'm so darn clever I decided I could "save as" a 2009C3d-32bit drawing to 2011C3D-64bit. This drawing was working just peachy for a while. There are no data links. The drawing contained 2009 surface and point groups. I imported some Pipe styles created in 2011. Created 800' of profile,and my pipe network. When I was closing the drawing I got a lot of errors wanting to know if I wanted to save changes to VBA-pipes. Seemed like a good idea at the time so I said Yes. This morning I opened the drawing and it's there but the surface from 2009 no longer has it's Definition data. The point group is gone, breaklines are gone. I needed to remove one lousy bad point out of my surface. The points in the drawing now have three copies and one has the elevation in the point description and you can't fix it. The 3 labels are all tied together and if you erase one they all disappear. I am going to wing it from here and get this puppy out of the office with a little old fashioned autocad. This is my question. Should I have just started a new drawing in 2011, clipped all my old line work and text from the 2009, imported the points and rebuilt my surface? Did I do something wrong and there was some way I should have been able to make this work? I was running 2009 and 2011 on my computer but had to remove 2009 last week. It no longer like livng with his better looking brother "2011" and I had to put him out. I have numerous small projects created in 2009 so this will happen again.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI have a small office and 2 of the associates are using autocad lt 2014 1 is using 2013 and I am using 2007. Up until a few months ago we were all on 2007.
Now when I open drawings from the 2007 version, I cannot see some of the text. I have tried the following: Checking layers to make sure they are onChecking font to make sure they are availabemaking sure annonotation is visiblemaking sure proxy graphics are onMaking a block of just the drawing objects and opening that I am not that familiar with 2014, so I cannot figure out what is happening. Note - when i look at the drawing in the preview window, I can see the text. But when I open it, it is not there. If I save in 2014, the text no longer shows up in the preview.
I'm using version 2009, but I need to save down to 2005. When I open the drawing in version 2005, my text is not appearing in the right location.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI used to be able to open a drawing then close it right away, if it was not the drawing I was looking for, as long as I didn't pan, zoom, or do anything else. Almost a year ago I had a pop-up with-in AutoCAD that they reccommend I make this selection. I can't remember what it said really, it was something about a script or lisp loading at each drawing opening. Well, the result is the 'Drawing 1' does not disappear when I open another drawing and I would like that to stop. Also as I said it does it to every drawing. how to stop this? I tried the 'startup' command and that is not it. It is not a big thing just something I think is a waste of my time having to close that drawing each time I open AutoCAD. Not sure it matters but I am using AutoCAD 2012
View 7 Replies View RelatedI've built this nifty block for holdowns, but the attributes get all goofy on me when I use the flip command. The problem is that the justification of the attributes does not change when they are flipped - so if I modify the text in the attribute while the block is in the FLIPPED state, how to modify the justification?Check out the attached file to see what I'm talking about. The block instances are numbered so you can follow along:
1. block is inserted
2. attribute text is modified in NOT FLIPPED state - everything is dandy
3. block is flipped
4. attribute text is modified in FLIPPED state - text justification is jacked up
5. block is flipped again, in order to demonstrate the continued jacked-uppedness of the attribute
is there a way to set the justification to left in the revision table justification? I've tried playing with the formats and I can't get it to do anything but be centred.
