AutoCAD Inventor :: Toolbars Not Visible In 2008
Nov 12, 2013I can't see any of the inventor toolbars anymore.
if i would still have the Quick Acces Toolbar this wouldn't be a problem but that one is also gone.

How do I add and subtract buttons form the toolbars on AutoCAD 2008 LT?
View 6 Replies View RelatedWhen I try to add new layers the layer propert manager is notvisable. I have to hit escape to return to the drawing. I beliesve the dialog box may be trying to go to a second screen I use at home. This happens on my lap top when it is not connected to my second moniter..

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am having some issues with the importation of some old files (from Mechanical Desktop 2008) to our new Inventor 2013...
I've been trying to use the Tasks Scheduler from my 2008 suite to "Import" my files into a new folder but it doesn't seem to be working. (it creates every folder and subfolder but keep them empty)
I know it's possible to install MDT2009 on an Inventor 2012 suite but it doesn't work with the 2013 version.
Is there a way for me to be able to use the old 2003 objects (3D ones) on Inventor 2013 (or on any other 2013 software?)
We need to be able to open MDT 2008 3D drawings in Autodesk Mechanical 2013.
I also would like to know if there is a way to convert a lot of files? (like using a batch or something similar)
1. Why is it when I do a 3D sketch, make the sweep, then "Return" I always get a constraint error? It tells me that I made a constraint to geometry which is no longer available. The geometry IS available. I always have to delete the constraints just to move on. I'm sure it has something to do with the planes or axis I created while doing my 3D sketch.
2. Why does Adaptively equal inefficiency? The more I use it the more I have to fix those darn cross-part association failures. It takes less time to not use adaptively and use the "old fashion way". adaptively rarely, if ever, works correctly with sheet metal parts. I say again - Junk.
3. Would it be so difficult to give us buttons for standard views on our tool bars? You know, like AutoCAD - which I'm sure you have heard of by now. An XY, YZ, XZ, button is all I ask for. You went to the trouble to give us RMB Isometric view but stopped there.
4. Is it too much to ask to provide buttons on the toolbars for Object Visibility? Why make me go through the View, Object Visibility menu three times in a row to turn off User Axis, User Work Planes, and User Work points. It will be six times in a row if you need to turn off the other stuff. Heck, at least make the darn menu tree stay open until I've selected multiple objects to turn on or off.
I'm building my first Addin by converting a macro. I've read Brian Ekins' white paper "Taking the step from VBA to Inv. Addins" (good stuff by the way) In that paper, he he describes creating a file "AUAddin.proj.user" in VB2005 Express. Basically the same name as the project file with a .user extension.
In VB2008 Express, a file by that name is created when the file is saved, the contents of that file contain a lot of commands similiar to those in the white paper. Is there a way to handle this? Can I add the contents from the white paper to the existing file?
There are some lines that are not visible in my .IDW. I have had this before and am wondering why this is happening. Basically this is a vinyl gasket which is shown in my .iam file. In my .idw it is not showing although I have not turned off the visiblility of the part.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm working on a small Assy (25 parts). When I open one of the parts from this Assy and work on it then go back to the Assy many parts are not visible. The update button is usually off so I can't use it.
This started only about 2-3 weeks ago - in every assy. I changed the nvidia driver but didn't work.

I have imported an .igs and would like to use it on my assembly.
Step that I created.
1. DL an igs files, then open it in Inventor 2012 Product Suite.
2. Save as .ipt,
3. Create a new .ipt and then DERIVED the save .ipt, change scale to 25.4
4. Save the part
5. Open .idw and place the part you just save.
Result: Notice that nothing is visible. WHY?
Attached is a test drawing
1. Why does my part not show up behind a surface?
2. What is the minimum dimension to make my part appear?
On the drawing I was working on, the part completly behind a surface was showing up until I rotated the view, then it dissapeared, this behaviour is not present in the test idw, the part doesnt appear at all behind the surface.
There are times with a breakout that it is desirable to have the sketch used to create the breakout visible to make it clearer on what's going on. When I right-click on the sketch in the browser there is no option for visibility. How do I make this sketch visible?
View 2 Replies View Relatedin my assembly part visibility is controlled by a Ilogic rule which selects an Iassembly. This assembly is a parametric model controlled by excel. The visible parts have to be exported to dxf.
Everything is working (iterating through parts, export sheet metal to dxf), but how can I check whether a part is visible within the assembly?
I have unfolded a 3D model into a flat plate, however the bend lines/extents do not appear in ISO.dwg
I doubled clicked into the view to access 'Display Options'. However, I cannot tick the box to display bend extents as this option is shaded out (refer to attached screen dump).
This subject have been around since version 2008.
1- I want to be able to insert an ipart ( only sketch) into an assembly and run frame generator.
2- If I have to change the component in the assembly I want to be able to click the ipart table with the right button of the mouse and choose "change component".

View 9 Replies View RelatedWe resently upgraded to Inventor 2013 and since then we have been having an issue of dimension and leader lines being hidden under a text box or some other drawing entity.
This is very confusing since the text box does not have a white out associated with it, nore is there a way to put the test box to the back and dimension lines to the front...
It seems like our puppet masters that program this amassing tool where up to something and didn't quite get there.
IT sure would be nice (or an absolute requirement) that this gets fixed so I don't have to learn new hoops to jump through to get a quality drawing out of Inventor.
I know how to get the "work features" to show up in the assembly however, I would like to to be able to utilize the UCS if possible. When I try to use the iPart Author to select the Work Features the UCS doesn't show up.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm using inventor studio for the first time(Inventor 2014 / Windows 7). I'm having some trouble with work surfaces showing up in my rendering. The surfaces are set with the visibility turned off. When I'm in my normal assembly window, they're invisible. They're even invisible while im in studio, setting up lights & such. They only show up on my renders. If i go into each part and suppress them they render ok. Problem is I have sketch geometry and constraints that crash when they're suppressed, so I really need them as active, but invisible.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI wanted to rename one of the default layer, "Visible," to "CUT" since that's what our plasma cutter looks for.
However, I created a copy of Visible named CUT. Now when I open a new drawing, I get the usual, "The following definitions in template Blah differ from the definitions in the style library..."
I know I could update each template, but I'd rather just delete the copied layer in the styles library. However, I don't see how. Any tips on removing my extra layer with out starting from scratch? Or how to rename a default layer?
I just finish the installation of Inventor 2013 SP 2 and I have some bugs... a lot of line is not visible in my .idw !
is on a derived part (mirror) ! the other point is the center gravity is not true in the derived part, seems have some problems on that version...
Since I switched to Inventor 2010 Pro, I've been seeing an issue I can't find resolution to. If I have an assembly that is one purchased part, I shrinkwrap it and place it as a part. Been doing that since shrinkwrap first appeared. For some reason some of my shrinkwrapped parts, though set to invisible in the assembly, (I am using association and representations, saving, locking and all that nice stuff), still show in the drawings. Even more insane is that the visibility is off in the drawing. Yet, there it is, big as life. My only fix so far has been to revert back to the assembly instead of the shrinkwrapped part.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have autodesk inventor 2012 and I'm building an assembly of an air compressor. One big part is coloured yellow and has on both sides decals with an image on them.
When I open my assembly file, the part is there in my assembly but it is coloured gray and no decals are visible, if I open the part with the decals it shows perfectly, So if I use replace and put the original file back in there, it's fixed, until I close and reopen the assembly ! Again the part is other colour and no decals visible ...
Have tried to delete and place the decals again, no difference...What do I have to do ?
I'm performing a static stress analysis on a benchframe. The benchframe is imported out of a STP file and I assume that's where the problems begin.
When I start the simulation, everything goes well. When I see the results, almost the whole part is blue, and only a really small part in a corner is shown red, with extremely high stresses.
The corner is actually not what I wanted to test, but it is messing up the other visible results because now I have to place probes all over the part to see the stresses (because the colors are calibrated with the high peak).
I have tried working with local mesh control and convergences, but I can't control the results in the small corner. I also tried rebuilding surfaces and adding fillets.
Is it possible to set a maximum stress, so that the other colors are visible in the important areas. It is not possible to exclude the corner from the simulation because it's part of a substantial part.
I can't see them until I put the cursor over them. Enclosed is a jpg of the problem. Ram for Inventor process is at 700-800,000 k-bytes. My graphics card is a Nvidia Quadro FX 580.
