View 9 Replies View RelatedI am trying to shrinkwrap an assembly to send out to a potential client, without giving away all our IP. The assembly has decals on one or two of the components which are key to identifying our product. I have yet to find a way of shrinkwrapping it that doesn't loose the decal... which check box I've failed to check/deselect, or is there a better way?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am attempting to create a decal for multiple uses and have hit a catch 22.
My needs: A decal of constant size, that can be used on a flat or curved surface (Radii not constant between instances), that will populate in a BOM. I also would like the ability to update graphics in one location that will update all previously placed decals.
Is there any way to have all of these? I have an update able flat decal, placed on an extruded profile, which populates the BOM, but no easy way to apply it to a curved surface.
I would like to avoid creating a separate part file for every radius that this decal could conceivably be placed on. (The count for my current application already numbers 25 radii to match, and along two axis)
Essentially I am hoping for a way to save a sketch as a part file (or some work around that accomplishes the same thing). This would allow for an updateable repeatable decal that can be wrapped or applied to any surface, with the Iproperties to populate a BOM.
We are having a pretty large annoyance where anytime you open a part with a decal, a message comes up saying there is a newer decal, and asking if you want to check out the decal. From digging a little bit I have found that this is caused by the decal being linked to the image. I however have not been able to find a way to break the link on an already created and vaulted part.
If so, how is this link removed?
when putting a bmp image on the ipt and creating the decal works fine. When I bring the ipt in to the drawing it fades out from the center to the upper right hand side. How to fix it in 2012. In 2009 it was simple to fix this by changing to open gl setting in application options, hardware.

View 5 Replies View RelatedWhenever anyone at the company tries to open a model that has a decal part in it, the File Edit window comes up asking if the person wants to check out the part. As decals generally never change after they are created, they are never desired to be checked out. After saying no to check out, the window then reappears stating that the local is never than the vault, even though you just finished a Get operation. Is there anyway to keep these files from needed constant updating?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to create a content center part with a decal attached to the model. The problem I am facing it that the decal is not adjusting in size when the ipt is placed from the content center. The decal does adjust in the original ipt.

So far it works only with not transparent substrate.

I want to add our company logos to a few drawings. I added a small thumbnail to the title block a while ago. In the sketch tab, Insert, Image, I can drop in bmp's. However, when I'm trying to ad it directly to the sheet nest to a text box or part view, I don't know how to. If I create a new sketch, the Image icon in the sketch tab is grayed out.
How do I insert an image in my idw?
I need to make a Template.idw file with my company logo. and i did that by using insert image options. Then i saved it as template file and when i try to use that tempate file for new drawing, it shows a message that the reference file path is not the part of active project. So there is any option availabe like copy image and paste in template in place of insert image with link option?

I am attempting to insert an image into a sketch to be used as a decal, but it appears as a blank gray box. I created this image in Photoshop CS5 on my Mac Mountain Lion partition. I am running Inventor 2012 on my Windows 7 64-bit partition.
I appear to only have a problem with that specific image. All other images on my harddrive insert correctly. I have tried multiple file types (.jpg, .png, .gif, etc), but nothing has worked. URL.....It may be necessary to note that the image is white text with a transparent background.
I can't see any of the inventor toolbars anymore.
if i would still have the Quick Acces Toolbar this wouldn't be a problem but that one is also gone.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am having some issues with the importation of some old files (from Mechanical Desktop 2008) to our new Inventor 2013...
I've been trying to use the Tasks Scheduler from my 2008 suite to "Import" my files into a new folder but it doesn't seem to be working. (it creates every folder and subfolder but keep them empty)
I know it's possible to install MDT2009 on an Inventor 2012 suite but it doesn't work with the 2013 version.
Is there a way for me to be able to use the old 2003 objects (3D ones) on Inventor 2013 (or on any other 2013 software?)
We need to be able to open MDT 2008 3D drawings in Autodesk Mechanical 2013.
I also would like to know if there is a way to convert a lot of files? (like using a batch or something similar)
I'm building my first Addin by converting a macro. I've read Brian Ekins' white paper "Taking the step from VBA to Inv. Addins" (good stuff by the way) In that paper, he he describes creating a file "AUAddin.proj.user" in VB2005 Express. Basically the same name as the project file with a .user extension.
In VB2008 Express, a file by that name is created when the file is saved, the contents of that file contain a lot of commands similiar to those in the white paper. Is there a way to handle this? Can I add the contents from the white paper to the existing file?
I am making a video in Nero Vision 10 and need to cut out the screen of a tv so that I can layer the TV over an image/video so it looks as though it is on the screen. I enclose a screenshot of the project. 'Transform-tools-crop' only cuts in straight lines so I wonder which device I should use which can cut out an odd bespoke shape? You can see in the uploaded image from the project how the image currently cannot fill the frame without covering it.

Insert - Image Manager - Attach - Select Image
I select the image file (which is in Tiff Format) and the preview says "Image File Not Valid". I can open the same image in R14.
I would like to insert JPG image without a border.
AutoCAD > Insert > Raster Image Reference > ... find the file
Good, I got the file. But it has a border!?
I cannot seems to remove it regardless. I tried selecting the colour white, but the border is still there.
It will be good if that North Orientation did not have the line. Capture.PNG
I am using ACAD 2011 and it seems to have removed some of the functionality in inserting images and keeping them there?
I am trying to put in a small company logo so that we can have a drawing template. and whether I 'ATTACH' the image OR 'copy and paste' it does not seem to matter... both seem to bring in the image however save it and try opening on a different machine it simply displays the path o the file which is no longer valid of course... I cannot seem to find the correct import method to embed the image into the actual ACAD drawing.... I know with previous years of ACAD this was possible.
How do I insert an image(jpg or png) into AutoCAD such that when I e-mail it to others, they can also see the image?
I did it before but i'm not sure what I did to make it "stick". Right now, some images just appear on my PC, but after I send it, they disappear and just show the filename. I used Attach by the way.
Is it possible to apply a decal to a curved surface? I need to place an image on a wrapping projector screen. When I try to place the decal, it only will choose 1 of the arcs or one of the straight peices. I need the one decal to stretch over the entire projector screen. I have attached a screen shot so you can see what I am trying to achieve.

I'm trying to convert an existing VBA routine to a vb.Net dll. One of the functions is inserting and scaling an existing tif image file into a blank AutoCAD 2010 drawing. I've searched and found just a few examples, but they all seem horrifically complicated . Am I missing the simple way of doing this, or is this an example of the seemingly massive learning curve of .Net that is beginning to remind me of my collegiate C class (shudder)?
