when putting a bmp image on the ipt and creating the decal works fine. When I bring the ipt in to the drawing it fades out from the center to the upper right hand side. How to fix it in 2012. In 2009 it was simple to fix this by changing to open gl setting in application options, hardware.
View 2 RepliesI have not seen this issue happen in quite a while. I saw it on earlier releases pre-2013. But now after the Update2 build it seems my IDW's are not behaving properly.
Scenario:
1. Create model of a raw material (steel) stamped bracket. It receives its own part number
2. Create iam using the unpainted bracket and then assign a color (red) to represent a painted finish. This receives a new part number due to our MFG process.
3. Create iam model using other "painted" sub assembly models (step 2 for instance). New part number.
4. Create IDW but it shows the raw material (step 1) rather than the painted model. It should show the painted

Recently I have Installed Autodesk Inventor Proffessional 2013 SP 1.1 Update 2 on few new systems, it is not showing correct Material Appearance (Customised Material). I observed that it is not browsing images from correct folder location.

Older systms showing correct appearnace and it takes picture from following location shown in image.
I checked Application Options>File>Design Data (Styles, etc.) for new systems showing correct folder location i.e. From User>Public Documents.

Having problems with parts lists not showing the correct part numbers of the parts included in the assembly. In some cases I've made a new part by renaming an existing part but when I create a parts list it shows the part no of the original existing part used to create the new part, even though the new part is the one in the assembly. Also I have just had a number of similar assemblies and needed to produce parts lists for them. I created the first one and then used 'save as' to rename the drawing including the parts list. Then when I re-opened the newly renamed drawing I assigned it to it's new assembly. However the parts list did not update to show the new part numbers included in it's new assembly.
Is all this a glitch in the system or is there something in the set-up which is causing this problem?
I have created an iLogic panel which allows me to control my revision a lot easier and puts my entered data into the parameters of the sheet itself, is there a way to have this show up on the drawing itself for a template?

The assembly has decals on one or two of the components which are key to identifying our product. I have yet to find a way of shrinkwrapping it that doesn't loose the decal... which check box I've failed to check/deselect, or is there a better way?

My needs: A decal of constant size, that can be used on a flat or curved surface (Radii not constant between instances), that will populate in a BOM. I also would like the ability to update graphics in one location that will update all previously placed decals.
Is there any way to have all of these? I have an update able flat decal, placed on an extruded profile, which populates the BOM, but no easy way to apply it to a curved surface.
I would like to avoid creating a separate part file for every radius that this decal could conceivably be placed on. (The count for my current application already numbers 25 radii to match, and along two axis)
Essentially I am hoping for a way to save a sketch as a part file (or some work around that accomplishes the same thing). This would allow for an updateable repeatable decal that can be wrapped or applied to any surface, with the Iproperties to populate a BOM.
We are having a pretty large annoyance where anytime you open a part with a decal, a message comes up saying there is a newer decal, and asking if you want to check out the decal. From digging a little bit I have found that this is caused by the decal being linked to the image. I however have not been able to find a way to break the link on an already created and vaulted part.
If so, how is this link removed?
It doesn't decal around the object. I'm trying to make it look like a basketball hoop.

Whenever anyone at the company tries to open a model that has a decal part in it, the File Edit window comes up asking if the person wants to check out the part. As decals generally never change after they are created, they are never desired to be checked out. After saying no to check out, the window then reappears stating that the local is never than the vault, even though you just finished a Get operation. Is there anyway to keep these files from needed constant updating?

I am trying to locate the image over the glass surface.
But once picture is located over the glass the Decal command makes my picture transparent.
Is there any way to make it not transparent?
So far it works only with not transparent substrate.

I have an assembly of a rod in a cylinder. When compressed, this rod sticks out 10mm from the cylinder. When extended, this rod sticks out 50mm. I am trying to create a drawing which shows the compressed state and extended state together.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI use the split face tool on my ipt. When i create a idw of this part I want to show the split face line in the drawing. When I initially place the view the line is shown, however when the place view command is finished the line is not shown.
I see nothing obvious in the place view dialog box controlling the visibility of this line............how do i show this line in the view?

I have an assembly which is a plated structure. I am using a skeleton file of surfaces to define these plates. I am deriving the required surface/s from this skeleton file into a part file. In the part file I have used thicken to create my plate part. I also turn off the visibility of all derived surfaces in this part.
Now in the plate part when I go into edit derived part - the surface I have used is not grayed out showing it has been consumed by my thicken feature??? I place all my part files into an assembly and create views for each part using isolate (I use these views in a drawing which is used for NC plate cutting)
So the problem I am having is that when I place a view in my drawing the derived surfaces are also showing.
However I have used this modeling technique for many previous projects on previous versions of inventor and have never had this problem.
As mentioned above I have used isolate to create these views. I have since gone back and created the views by turning off the visibility of all other components and the surfaces do not appear in my drawing views.
Been trying to show multiple layers/coatings in my drawing for several hours now, and finally defeated,
I have a revolved part that's made of multiple layers -- aluminum, for example, with an anodized coating and then a paint on top. I need to make a detailed drawing to show how thick each layer is, and to that end, created the part profile, added an offset rotation for layer 1 and then another offset rotation for layer two. They're thus symmetric and in full contact, but separate, distinct layers. No problem.
Turning this into a precise drawing, however, is a bit harder, since all of the layers render into one monolithic revolution. I need to show those layers distinctly, like in the png file attached. Is that possible?
Can we show or hide the model edges with respect to Features or parts. I think, there must be only two options. ie. "Show all hidden edges" or "show all" and "Hide all edges".

View 7 Replies View Relatedusing illustrator cc, on a series of illustrations, i am placing an ai file with my color pallette into all of my files (if i update the pallate, all files will have the corrected version). when i place the pallette file, the cmyk values are slightly off. all files are cmyk. seems like a bug, reminds me of placing illustrator into photoshop, and colors values would be ever so slightly off.

For instance some changes I made yesterday and saved are not showing up while changes I made today are. Essentially I am missing most of my work from today. I did save the drawing as 3 different drawings prior to closing and each drawing now shows something different.
View 1 Replies View RelatedHatch is not showing up on my drawing anymore. I use hatch command, pick area, pattern, color, scale etc and then when I press enter or preview nothing happens. Hatch works on my layouts though but not in model view.
Before all that happened, AutoCAD crashed and stopped working so I had to force close it.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm the IT nerd and haven't used autocad before, but i'm trying to troubleshoot an issue with one of our users who is having this issue. From what I have seen, when he loads a drawing, I can see a whole heap of unidentified object messages down the bottom. The drawing loads, but it's missing all the text (mostly the dimensions).
He's told me that he can load it 4 or 5 times, and it will show up, but it fails more than it works.
I have a drawing done in AutoCAD Architecture 2013. Most of it is just lines, but I have a couple of Walls with Doors. It looks fine in the base drawing but when I xref into another file the walls revert to their original color and the doors have disappeared. The opening is there but no door.
I tried xredit and the doors are there but when I close that they are gone again. Tried detaching and reattaching...still have the problem.
After I posted this tried Display Configuration. Clicking all options for Doors gives me the doors...in a closed position, not the same as in the base plan.
