using illustrator cc, on a series of illustrations, i am placing an ai file with my color pallette into all of my files (if i update the pallate, all files will have the corrected version). when i place the pallette file, the cmyk values are slightly off. all files are cmyk. seems like a bug, reminds me of placing illustrator into photoshop, and colors values would be ever so slightly off.
View 3 RepliesThe background is a gradient mesh(ignore the crosses). I used eyedropper tool(shift-click/normal-click both gave the same result) on the background and it gave me a strange result. As you see the back ground is blue-to-black gradation but the color picked is green-ish from nowhere.

So for my lack of ability to explain my problem very well, how do I reset CS4 to show me the original color pallet?
I have not seen this issue happen in quite a while. I saw it on earlier releases pre-2013. But now after the Update2 build it seems my IDW's are not behaving properly.
Scenario:
1. Create model of a raw material (steel) stamped bracket. It receives its own part number
2. Create iam using the unpainted bracket and then assign a color (red) to represent a painted finish. This receives a new part number due to our MFG process.
3. Create iam model using other "painted" sub assembly models (step 2 for instance). New part number.
4. Create IDW but it shows the raw material (step 1) rather than the painted model. It should show the painted

when putting a bmp image on the ipt and creating the decal works fine. When I bring the ipt in to the drawing it fades out from the center to the upper right hand side. How to fix it in 2012. In 2009 it was simple to fix this by changing to open gl setting in application options, hardware.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have recently purchased a Pentax K-5 ii and am taking RAW images. Originally I took DNG images but when I saw that the new service pack issued on 31st January gave new support to Pentax K-5 ii RAW format, I thought I would record in PEF.
I did this but find that the images suffer a strange color reversal: Red is recorded as Blue; Green and Yellow as Cyan; Blue as Brown and Brown as Magenta. The images appear in their correct colors in other software and on the monitor in the camera.
Recently I have Installed Autodesk Inventor Proffessional 2013 SP 1.1 Update 2 on few new systems, it is not showing correct Material Appearance (Customised Material). I observed that it is not browsing images from correct folder location.

I checked Application Options>File>Design Data (Styles, etc.) for new systems showing correct folder location i.e. From User>Public Documents.

I am having a little trouble with the pdf I created in Illustrator. See images below for explanation. It's only happening to certain text. How can it be fixed, and how to prevent it from happening again?
I get this as thumbnail image on my desktop and in Finder, when I click space bar to quick view, and when its preview as an attachment in an email.
This is how it's supposed to look. This only happens when the PDF is actually opened..it goes from the above img to this.
I would like to import all of the colors in an .ase file to view them together in a grid as data for research I'm doing. Is there a way to access all the colors in a palette at once and import them into a Photoshop, InDesign, or Illustrator file? (there are hundreds)

View 4 Replies View RelatedI work in prepress. I have an Illustrator CS6 file that is made up of 3 Pantone Spot colors. I save the file as an eps from Illustrator and rip the file with our prepress software. When previewing the ripped file with our prepress software it shows me that I have process colors (CMYK) somewhere in the file. I can not see these colors visually in the ripped file so I go back to Illustrator to see if I can edit them out of the file. I use the Preview Separations tool but can't find those process colors anywhere. There are no placed images, everything is vector art. I double check any white color and make sure it doesn't have any tiny percentage of process color in it. I make sure my spot colors are indeed spot colors and not process colors. I add used colors, I delete unused colors. I can't find the CMYK being used anywhere in my Illustrator file. How to clean up these "hidden" colors? This was also a problem in CS3. I'm using an iMac 2.5 GHz Intel Core i5, Mac OS X, Version 10.7.5
View 4 Replies View RelatedHaving problems with parts lists not showing the correct part numbers of the parts included in the assembly. In some cases I've made a new part by renaming an existing part but when I create a parts list it shows the part no of the original existing part used to create the new part, even though the new part is the one in the assembly. Also I have just had a number of similar assemblies and needed to produce parts lists for them. I created the first one and then used 'save as' to rename the drawing including the parts list. Then when I re-opened the newly renamed drawing I assigned it to it's new assembly. However the parts list did not update to show the new part numbers included in it's new assembly.
Is all this a glitch in the system or is there something in the set-up which is causing this problem?
I'm trying to create a swatch in Illustrator with our company's colors. I already succeedid in creating a palet with the RGB and CMYK colors, but I also want to do this with the PMS colors.However, I can't seem to find the correct color book in which to locate the correct PMS color.
I only have the number of the PMS color, I don't know which color book to choose?
I bought a macbook pro and the student suite about 3 months ago. They work fine together (better than the couple windows-adobe), but i've got a problem. Today colors of my macbook suddenly changes when i create a new web-profile file on Illustrator. I inspect my mac wtih the utility colorsync, and this was the result:

Is it possible to get the list of all the fonts and colors used in the active illustrator document (.ai file) ?

* imac running OSX 10.8.x and macbook running OSX 10.9.1
* Illustrator CC
* Pantone Color Manager
I am trying to use the Pantone Fashion and Home / Paper color library provided by the Pantone Color Manager, specifically for using the Radiant Ochid 18-3224 TPX (Color of the Year 2014). I saved the named library to a *.ase file and opened it in Ai. From the number of colors I guess, that all colors are imported but I can't find the 18-3224. BUT there are lots of "Unnamed Global Colors" with some of them wich might be the one in question. Using 'xxd pantone.ase' in the terminal I can find at least the name "Radiant Orchid 18-3224 TPX", which means, that it is saved in the given file.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI created a 8-bit .bmp file which shows 257 (=2^8+1) colors in Windows Picture Viewer. The image shows a black frame with 256 different red colors inside. You may load it with Paint.Net and count the colors. ;-)

I'm having problems with PS showing red and purple as blue. The RAW's are oversaturated with blue and nothing I do can reverse the colours. Both camera, PS and monitor is set to aRGB and the RAW files is showed correctly in the Windows folder. both the highlight and shadow warning are turned off!

Is there a known problem with color in Elements 10?I have a gif that when opened in paint shows the light blue color correctly but in PSE10 shows as a buff color.Red, yellow and blue seem about right.It doesn't matter if it is the gif or the psd file the color showns the same in PSE10.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI edited my CR2 pictures in Lightroom. After converting to any format the colors were colder than in original image. I opened it in Photoshop, Irfanview and Firefox. In Lightroom the image looked same as original. Both Lightroom and Photoshop are using ProPhoto RGB. I tried converting to different color spaces with no luck.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI created a design for a window cling using InDesign and submitted it to the printer as a cmyk PDF. The vendor is now requesting an ai file. Illustrator is outside my skill set, but I do have it as part of CS6. I opened the PDF in Illustrator and did Ctrl+Y to confirm that it was entirely vector, and it is. Is there any problem with simply saving it as a .ai? Or is there a better way to go about it? The file will not need to be edited in Illustrator.

The album company will accept psd files or jpegs.
The jpegs need to be at least 30MB. The psd file sizes are around 108MB.
When I save them as jpeg at the highest quality I am not getting anything larger then 10MB.
I am trying to avoid having to upload 32 psd files thru ftp.
There are manys lines appearing in the converted OBJ file:
vn -1.#QNAN0 -1.#QNAN0 -1.#QNAN0
So how can I convert the correct obj file?
So i created a new project in Illus. CS5 with an artboard size of 700x150 pixels. I have two graphics in there that are about 215 pixels tall so part of it flies off the artboard, but i have a clipping part that hides all the parts that i dont want to see.
The problem is when i go to Save for Web, the ouput image is 700x215 because it includes the space used by the graphics, that fly off the board, but you dont even see it. I was able to get around this by opening the file in photoshop and then cropping to 700x150 so the extra space is removed, but there should be a way to save this in Illus. without the hassel.
I take a number of cemetery headstone photos and in trying to keep my shadow off the headstone, I stand to the side and the image usually gets distorted. I have Photoshop Elements 11. I'm sure there is a good way to do it. I tried Filter, Correct Camera Distortion but end up with a worse distortion than when I started.

I am current CC subscriber and love all the different programs and the capabilities that come along with it. How to scale my artwork. For example, I have designed my business logo at 220 x 220 pixels. When I export it as a jpeg file to upload into my SharePoint team site and resize it, the quality diminishes considerably. Sharepoint recommends uploading a picture that is approximately 60 x 60 pixels. how do I take my 220 x 220 artwork and make it so that when I export it, it is 60 x 60 pixels?
View 2 Replies View RelatedWhen running a batch I have an existing file open and then an action which opens a pre exisiting file that i Drop images into to give boarders and logos.
When I run the action it drops image into the PSD in the correct area and the file looks correct , then in turn it saves the Original file and not the one the batch ran on even thou the file was worked on and edited on CS6. So in a sense it saves the Original File with the correct File naming when ran in the Batch Image processor.

Still with nothing done to the saved file execpt the name change.
