I am using illustrator 5, and trying to create white text over black background or black square, after saving the file to SVG icon, all black and can't see the white text. If save file to other format, looks ok.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI purchased and installed version PSPX4 in Jan. 2012, and started noticing, what appears to be, a duplicate copy of the same file with an Asian type file format in the Recent Doc folder. When I attempt to do a weekly scan of my system for spyware, malware, etc. and weekly clean up of my registry, temp files and other files taking up space, one of my programs finds files listed in the registry under the Recent Doc folder that it cannot clean as the format is not recognized. Even though the properties of the file link the file back to the folder the .jpg file is stored in, there really isn't a file with that format. This is just a reference, and very annoying.

View 3 Replies View RelatedHere is what my artboard looks like. What I'm trying to do is just get the black shapes as one solid logo without the white showing. For example, if I were to place this in another Illustrator project, it would still have the white rectangles with full transperency. I tried a tut online, but when I place the AI file into another project, the WHOLE image is invisible.
If I were to open this AI file in Photoshop, I could use the Magic Wand to delete the white parts and leave just the black shape. I want to be able to resize the black shape and use it on banners, avatars, etc.
Background notes: I am using this for my gaming website and I would like to be able to use this for my logo. (Crossfire)
I have a mac with Adobe Illustrator and I am just learning how to use this stuff. How to accomplish what you see below - white text that has shading/shadow and is on a white background?

View 2 Replies View RelatedIn the past day I have run into a problem whenever I copy and paste any text inside Illustartor CS6. If I copy text from outside Illustator and paste in a file, everything is ok. But if I copy text from inside an AI file and paste into another AI file or to the same file, I get a bunch of extra text that gets displayed before the pasted text. In the example below I copied and pasted the text "This is a test" within the same AI file, and got the a bunch of information above the text.
View 25 Replies View RelatedI'm new to Ai, and I'm working off of a 2 column end movie credit scroll with a space between them.
The formatting/alignment is fine and I simply need to replace the names in each column. However, the text is not behaving how I'd like it to. When I type text in the left column, I'd like the text to move to the left, but when I type it goes to the right (into the middle space), pushes the text in the other column to the right and messes up the formatting.
Is there a setting or way to make the text go to the left?
Faced with a problem: illustrator CS5 refuses to save the file in eps. format. Ai. and pdf. formats saved, but eps. - no. I don't no what to do? Win 7, Adobe Suite CS5.5

View 6 Replies View RelatedI have done this a thousand times, and not had a problem. Basically I tried putting a gradient into text, and nothing happened. I tried it on a shape, and it worked fine. So I went to the appearances panel and added a new fill for the text. It worked, but even with the stroke disabled, there is still a weird glitchy outline around the text?
I tried exporting the file as PDF to check if this is just showing up in program...but it shows up in the outputted PDF too!
I am creating clothing and my fashion designers created the pattern in adobe illustrator. Now the contract manufacturer wants a DXF-AAMA format, which is the file format developed by the American Apparel Manufacturers Association in an attempt to solve the difficulties of using DXF files when creating clothing/apparel. How can I do this? I have already created a prototype and printed the fabric/pattern using the AI file (this was done in NY), but the contract manufacturer I am using seems to want this DXF file in the AAMA format.

I have white text on top of colored shapes in my Illustrator file. When I export to a PDF or a PNG, my white text does not export and display in the final version.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI designed a vector in Adobe Illustrator CS6, but when saved as an .eps file, white vertical lines appear in my gradient.
What is happening? I've tried rasterizing the vector at 300 PPI with anti-aliasing, but the edges look jagged (but I really want to keep it as a vector anyway)
I don't know whether it's relevant, but I'm using process colours (but that's only because I couldn't get spot colours to work properly).
I seem to have lost my icons for Illustrator CS2 and InDesign CS2 files. The files show as a standard white "page" icon, instead of the program icon. Since I often have multiple Adobe file formats in one folder, it makes it difficult to distinguish which ones are Illustrator vs. InDesign. Oddly enough, Photoshop files and GoLive site files show their icons for files.
I read elsewhere online that this could be caused by a cleaning utility program such as CCleaner when "{GUID} folders are deleted from C:WindowsInstaller." However, I can't find the answer as to how to FIX it.
I have tried using Windows>Default Programs>Associate a file type or protocol with a program to check that Illustrator and InDesign are set as defaults to open the files. I found that the programs were set to shortcuts within the Adobe folder. I fixed that by deleting the shortcut and putting the actual program link as the source to open the program. (Actual program .exe file was located within Adobe Illustrator> Support Files>Contents>Windows.)
Also, I have the Adobe CS2 Suite installed under Program Files (x86).
How do I remove the white background from a placed .jpg or .tiff file. There always seems to be a white rectangle around the .jpg or .tiff . How do I remove that white background rectangle?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI am working on a project for my online class and am having difficulties with the History Brush. Note that both files are identical in size etc.
1. I created a color text file and saved it with a specific name.
2. I copied an existing photo from iPhoto, as I couldn't import into PhotoShop, and pasted it in a new file. I then removed the white background layer and then saved it with its now specific name and closed the file.
3. I re-opened the Color Text File.
4. I then re-opended my photo.
5. I performed a "Select All" from the menu bar of my active Photo then selected Edit - Copy and then closed my Photo file.
6. From my Color Text File I selected Edit and then Paste from the menu bar.
7. I selected Layer and Flatten Image from the menu bar.
8. I right clicked the background image from the Layers Panel and created a snapshot (which is my photo)
9. I selected the History brush and verified that this also displayed in the gray box associated with the Color Text file within the History Panel.
10. I verified that my photo image was displayed in my work area.
11. I start to fill the photo with my History Brush and the only color I get is White.
I am getting horizontal white lines one inch apart when I print an Ai file
