I edited my CR2 pictures in Lightroom. After converting to any format the colors were colder than in original image. I opened it in Photoshop, Irfanview and Firefox. In Lightroom the image looked same as original. Both Lightroom and Photoshop are using ProPhoto RGB. I tried converting to different color spaces with no luck.
View 1 RepliesI recently updated my operating system to MAC OS 10.8 and as a result, Photoshop 5.5 no longer prints colors accurately. I corresponded with the tech department at Adobe for more than a week and we determined that my user settings did not migrate properly when I upgraded, resulting in skewed colors when printing from Photoshop. In running tests, we made a new "root" user and Photoshop printed correctly when using that user. How to fix my user settings/profiles so that my paper and printer profiles operate correctly in MAC OS 10.8 when printing from Photoshop?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI recently bought CS4 and have noticed that everything displays differently in Photoshop than anywhere else. I can not get a pure white. Pure white looks yellow, like french vanilla ice cream.
I have tried everything I can think of to rectify this situation. I have tried changing color profiles, etc. but I obviously don't know what I'm doing, because none of the changes have any effect.
I really need to get this fixed. I have been a Photoshop user for 15 years, and throughout all the versions I've used prior to this one, everything displays properly. I am BUGGED by this, big time. Such expensive software should work right.
I am using a 22" Samsung LCD monitor, if that makes any difference.

When viewing images or documents on the Cintiq they display the same colors as on my main monitor. But when I draw something in Photoshop the colors are more saturated. This is especially noticeable when I undock the working space and drag it on my main monitor.
Testing with a rainbow gradient I can see that relative to my main monitor the purple gets darker and the blue gets stronger; almost turning into a solid bar rather than a gradient. The green also gets slightly lighter.
Somehow my 2013 pictures as well as some random pics from 2009 and 2010 were made into subfolders of 01/19/2012. How can I correct this? Also does the message about moving photos mean that if I move a photo, I lose the original and all changes?

View 12 Replies View RelatedI created a 8-bit .bmp file which shows 257 (=2^8+1) colors in Windows Picture Viewer. The image shows a black frame with 256 different red colors inside. You may load it with Paint.Net and count the colors. ;-)

Both camera, PS and monitor is set to aRGB and the RAW files is showed correctly in the Windows folder. both the highlight and shadow warning are turned off!

This is probably very easy, but I cant figure it out. Whenever I try to type text on the spine of my lightroom book, Lightroom puts it horizontally. I like to rotate the text on the spine of my book by 90 degrees so that it reads from top to bottom, like on any normal book. How do I do that?
By the way, when I start a new book, the spine text appears correctly by default (rotated by 90 degrees). In my existing book, the text cursor appears only for horizontal flow however, despite using the same design template. Is this a bug or did I accidently change the orientation of the text?
using illustrator cc, on a series of illustrations, i am placing an ai file with my color pallette into all of my files (if i update the pallate, all files will have the corrected version). when i place the pallette file, the cmyk values are slightly off. all files are cmyk. seems like a bug, reminds me of placing illustrator into photoshop, and colors values would be ever so slightly off.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI have a logo - blue and green colors, good for a white background. BUT, I want to place the logo on a dark green background.
SO, I want to convert all of the clors in the logo to White, but I don't know the best way to go about it. I tried using the paint bucket tool, but all of the shapes and letters have jagged edges with varying shades that are visible when zoomed in (dithered?), and the results I get when using the paint bucket aren't ideal.
I always find beautiful RGB-vectors which I want to use for a print design. But once converted via Illustrator to CMYK, the image often annoys me because of the less bright and powerful colours.
So: what is the best way to recolor a nice and colourful vector from RGB tot CMYK (possibly with finding the right alternative colors in CMYK?) in Illustrator?
I've been having this issue with InDesign CC lately, its importing some of my pantone colors as LAB colors. I am able to change a spot to process, but as far as changing the LAB color to a CMYK color, the box is grayed out and is not giving me an option to do it. See screenshot: [URL]....

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm having an issue where I can't convert spot colors to CMYK in the swatches panel. Currently to fix I have to copy elements using the spot colors in to a new blank document, then convert them, then paste back into the original document.
Also if I try to delete the spot color, it doesn't fully delete the swatch.

I have recently traced a new picture and I am about to add colors to it so that I can upload it later on my gallery. I started the Tracing on a Cmyk based template because one day I will use print it to add it to my portfolio! I mean should I add Cmyk colors and them convert them to rgb in order to upload it?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have recently upgraded to LR5.3 and have now noticed an issue when importing photos. When importing in to one folder (as a sub folder), the photos are imported correctly, - on disk they appear in the correct place, howevr in the folder panel, the sub-folder is shown outside of the main folder.
Imort settings are:
Note , on disk the folder '20131226 - Boxing Day' appears correctly (These are all under a root folder 'Photos - LR Masters')
However, in the LR Folder Panel, the folder '20131226 - Boxong Day' appears outside of the 'Photos - LR Masters'
If I attempt to move the folder by dragging, I get an error that the folder already exists.
I'm using save for web from Photoshop to save a png 24 (so, with transparency). When using png files with transparent backgrounds the colors end up showing a bounding boxes of each element. So if I have a solid black zero, and a red TM om the same image it looks fine everywhere except 3dsMax. In Max it shows as a big black box, and a little red box. The alpha channel reads just fine though.
I am quite annoyed that I have to go back and save all my maps as jpgs with one of them being an alpha map if I want to see them properly in the viewport. I can use the images because it only messes up the outside of the color, but it's difficult to map the placement of certain images. Surely a few people here use Photoshop to create png files for import into Max right?
Just installed acr7.3 and cs6. I have previously saved jpgs but wanted to play with POSSIBLE settings in the new ACR. Ok so I make some changes and only say DONE.. I do not open and resave. Going back to Bridge.. the preview now shows me the 'new' acr tweaked version and that jpg will NOT open in CS6 again without going through bridge to apply the tweaks I made.
Problem is, the jpg itself is still saved the OLD way and I want that version back. How do I get the bridge to show the saved jpg that I have, once I play with it in acr??
Yesterday, I sent a drawing that I scaled as 1/2" = 1'-0" in an Adobe PDF, and was told by the receiver that the drawing scale was off by 3-4% when they measured it. Hoping that is was the printer's problem, I sent a drawing from another file to FEDEX, and went and scaled that one myself. Sure enough, it's off. It doesn't matter whether it is windowed or brought in a paper space viewport.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have two PSD files that won't render correctly in Illustrator. If I open the PSD files in Photoshop, everything looks OK, and if I print it, the file looks good. But when I place it in Illustrator, part of the picture is missing, and if I print it, it doesn't show up on the page. These are the only two files I've had trouble with and they both originated from the same company. Is there something wrong with the photo, perhaps?

Note the gaps in the orange gradient at the top of the graphic, and the transparent areas in the border of the shield. This discrepancy appears (to me) to be a result of using a "sharper" antialiasing mode in CS6 which is leaving 1 pixel wide gaps between objects that are actually completely aligned to the same points in Illustrator. Scaling the object will result in the gaps showing up in different areas of the graphic. This is incorrect behavior on the part of Photoshop CS6.
