View 2 RepliesLightroom 4.3 today started popping up random 'critically low on disk space' errors for the drive housing the catalog file. The drive in question has over 500GB free. There are no errors in Windows logs showing that OS is throwing these errors.
View 12 Replies View RelatedI have Lightroom 3.3 on a Windows 7 x64 machine. It's started to throw a disk critically low warning every few days for the drive that has my LR catalog on it. The drive has 390GB free .
View 15 Replies View RelatedSince updating to LR4.2 and moving files around my backup files have grown too much, like 40GB over the last week. If I should uninstalled LR4.2 then re-installed, how do I locate those backup files (perhaps hidden!) before re-installing ?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have Lightroom v. 4.1. In the process to update to v. 4.2, I receive a message that disk space is insufficient. There is over 500 GB on the hard drive. The update is halted at this time. I am using a Mac, OS Lion.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a relatively large photo catalog (200k photos +) that I am in the process of paring down with Lightroom 5. Along the way I have kept certain groups of photos published to Flickr using Smart Photosets so that if I eliminate a duplicate photo from the catalog I will be able to "re-publish" and eliminate that duplicate from the published collection.
My Catalog Files, My Backups, and the actual image files that are referenced in the catalog are all located on an external drive. I did this so that I could have everything on one drive for the time being while I eliminate a ton of photos from the catalog.
The issue that I am running into is that while a collection is being published to Flickr I get a message popping up telling me that I am low on disk space on my local (C) drive and that I need to free up some space. This is odd because everything is located on the external drive (catalog and image files) and I am publishing to Flickr.
I am just trying to figure out if there is a default somewhere that is causing Lightroom to create new thumbnails or previews somewhere on my C drive while I am publishing images to Flickr or something like that. What sort of data might be accumulating in the process here? And is there anyway to move it all or eliminate it for the time being while I am finishing the elimination of duplicate files from my catalog?
Here's what I have:
250 GB Internal Hard-Disk (with Lightroom catalog on it)
60 GB Internal SSD-Disk (with Mac OS X Lion 10.7 on it)
2 TB External Hard-Disk (place where I try make my backup to)
There is only appox. 6 GB free space on system disk (SSD). When I start to make catalog backup to External 2 TB disk, it makes it long time (copying files to External disk), then after a while Lightroom starts to "Optimizing catalog". And during this optimizing, Lightroom starts to eat disk space on the system disk (SSD). More and more, and then finally it show me the message "Lightroom was unable to back up the catalog named "XXXXX". Please check your folder permissions, and make sure that you have available space on your backup drive and main catalog's drive."
The problem is that I actually HAVE free space on 250 GB disk (where catalog is located) and on External 2 TB (where is backup destination).Lightroom says NOTHING about the fact that he needs lots of free space on SYSTEM disk. But it actually eats it.And what I want to ask, whether it is possible to make Lightroom use space on another disk, not on system?
I have the PhotoDelux home edition that came installed on my computer (using Windows XP). Now I can not open any more pictures with the program because it is telling me that the scratch disk is full. I have tried for hours to find an explanation somewhere on how to make space on the scratch disk, but the little bit that I found is over my head. I guess I know less about computers than I thought....

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm using PSE/PE 11 with latest updates, Win7 64bit (again, latest updates). I7 cpu w/8GB ram.
When I attempt a backup of the catalog (EVEN after optimizing & reconnecting) to an internal HDD (SSD) with 188GB free - NO LUCK. Attempt another backup to a different internal HDD with 345GB free - NO LUCK - the app says I must free up some disk space/not enough space. My catalog size from System Info shows 21.6MB but within the Backup app of Organizer, it says it is trying to backup 612,678.10MB.
I have some very serious problems when i am working in a big part with maximum features.
I get a message saying that:
The application has used up the maximum allowable disk space (1200 MB)
The second problem is:
The space in C: keeps increasing. I dont know how the space in C: increased even after having the ipt file in D:

View 10 Replies View RelatedI have calculated some test renders on a small portion of the timeline in order to check things up. Now I would like to delete them and calculate everything at a later time.
Do you know the way to delete renders in order to save hard disk space ? I have tried the "force purge" function, but it didn't delete anything, the "Autodesk media storage" folder is still the same size...
And manually deleting renders in the "Autodesk media storage" folder messes everything up.
I have PSE 10 on my MAC. I normally download my photos onto iPhoto (and a while ago, onto Bridge CS3 which came with an earlier version of PSE) but more recently have become interested in using the PSE Organizer for my photo library. I have started to transfer/copy the photos from iPhoto but, having read various topics on organizing photos, am a little worried that by having the photos in 2/3 places on the MAC I will use much more hard-disk space. I know that the original files for iPhoto are in the 'Library' so that I just see thumbnails on iPhoto ( I may be wrong here?), but will the photos I now have on Organizer be working off those same 'Library' originals or am I doubling up on the space required to store these photos?

View 4 Replies View RelatedSomehow my 2013 pictures as well as some random pics from 2009 and 2010 were made into subfolders of 01/19/2012. How can I correct this? Also does the message about moving photos mean that if I move a photo, I lose the original and all changes?
View 2 Replies View RelatedWhen the 'up' arrow appears in a thumbnail and comes up with the message:
The metadata for one or more of these photos has been changed by another application. Should Lightroom import settings from disk or overwrite disk settings with those from the catalog?
What exactly does that mean? This seems to happen every time I export an image to PS (CS5) and return to LR. What exactly has changed? What settings are being imported if I choose 'import settings from disk'.
I edited my CR2 pictures in Lightroom. After converting to any format the colors were colder than in original image. I opened it in Photoshop, Irfanview and Firefox. In Lightroom the image looked same as original. Both Lightroom and Photoshop are using ProPhoto RGB. I tried converting to different color spaces with no luck.
View 1 Replies View RelatedThis is probably very easy, but I cant figure it out. Whenever I try to type text on the spine of my lightroom book, Lightroom puts it horizontally. I like to rotate the text on the spine of my book by 90 degrees so that it reads from top to bottom, like on any normal book. How do I do that?
By the way, when I start a new book, the spine text appears correctly by default (rotated by 90 degrees). In my existing book, the text cursor appears only for horizontal flow however, despite using the same design template. Is this a bug or did I accidently change the orientation of the text?
I have a set of JPEGs that have been stripped of their color profiles (AdobeRGB). Lightroom assumes that they are sRGB images and displays them incorrectly. Is there any function in the program that will let me embed the correct (AdobeRGB) profile to the photos, preferably without re-compressing them?
View 12 Replies View RelatedAttached SSA file refers. When trying to create excel/pdf report, analysis data for only the first 6 sub catchments is created, the remaining 150 fail. Yet if I query each ones properties individually, the analysis data is there.
To me it seems like a bug in the software.
I am running PS CS 6 (fully updated) on my new top spec Imac (32Gb RAM, 2Gb video card, 3Tb fusion drive) with OS 10.8.3.
PS runs OK but when formally quitting I get an error message every time advising that PS quit unexpectantly.
OK, I just did a new install of Civil 3D on a clean machine, were might I find the XML Reporting for 2013 so that I can edit the format and percision of the reports.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am putting an internal screen family together.
As the wall wraps do not work on the soffit (only on reveals), I have used a sweep to match the wall plaster thickness to provide a finish.
Is it possible to report the host wall finish material and have it assigned to this sweep automatically ? I have tried to add a finish layer to the host wall in the family - but have not been able to find a way of extracting the material value for this layer.
For the moment I have left it as an Instance property for manual correction - but automated would be great.
Is it possible to create a Stair Tag with the pitch reported? I have a tag which includes the number and height of rises as well as the size of treads but I would like to include the pitch also. Obviously this would use the dimensions of the rise and tread in the formula Tan X = Rise/Tread, but how do I create this in a tag? I have looked at using a Reporting Parameter but every time I read the Wikihelp paragraph on them my eyes just glaze over as I cannot follow it at all but it does mention formulas....
View 8 Replies View RelatedI am currently writing a COM application that uses the Inventor 2013 APIs to open up and inspect CAD files. This utility is intented to operate on large amounts of Inventor data. I am using SilentOperation and Visibile properties to allow the automated process to run unmanned (i.e., suppressing any popups). However, there are occasions where Inventor will crash due to some corrupt data or some other system problem, which results in the CER dialog popping up.
The utility handles Inventor crashes by clearing out and restarting the session, but the CER dialog prevents this from happening until a user manually closes the window. I would like to avoid the complications of creating a monitor' that handles killing the Inventor.exe process in the event of a crash. Is there any setting - either in the application configuration or through the APIs - that would turn off the CER when Inventor crashes? I have seen solutions that disable CER for AutoCAD [URL], but I need to be able to do this in Inventor.
When I create a report from 'Staion offsets to points' to excel, the Station, (what I would call chainage) is coming up as 3+10.00 in the spreadsheet. I need this to be 310.000 so I can apply formulas in excel. How do I change this.
I've changed the alignment label style to show it as this format, and it works fine. I've also gone into 'Edit report settings' and changed alignment station display to ####, decimals to 3 places, yet it keeps giving me the same format with 2 decimals.
Also, in this report, how do I remove the metre symbol 'm' (i.e 1400m) from the offset and elevation display?
I need to create an excel spreadsheet with quite a lot of data, apply formulas, and I really don't want to remove every 'm' and rewrite every chainage.
How can I disabling temporarily Autodesk Customer Error Reporting for AutoCAD?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have recently upgraded to LR5.3 and have now noticed an issue when importing photos. When importing in to one folder (as a sub folder), the photos are imported correctly, - on disk they appear in the correct place, howevr in the folder panel, the sub-folder is shown outside of the main folder.
Imort settings are:
Note , on disk the folder '20131226 - Boxing Day' appears correctly (These are all under a root folder 'Photos - LR Masters')
However, in the LR Folder Panel, the folder '20131226 - Boxong Day' appears outside of the 'Photos - LR Masters'
If I attempt to move the folder by dragging, I get an error that the folder already exists.
Windows 7, had everything working fine. Added SSD and installed system from scratch on SSD. Old drive is now my second drive.
Trying to put the scratch disk on the second (old) drive to reduce wear on the SSD. But every time I do, I get the disk error message and it erases all my settings (so annoying!)
I figure it's a permissions thing since I've had to deal with that already to some degree, but I don't know how to fix it since I don't know where adobe is trying to save the scratch file.
Never seen this before, but I'm having an issue with mass incorrectly reporting in high level assemblies.
See the attached jpgs. The bracket reports a mass of 29.7 kg when opened on its own, but when checked in the browser of the next level up, its mass is reported (incorrectly) as 23.1 kg. A little investigation has revealed that the error is in the stiffening webs (which have been modelled as a single ipt). Again, if the webs are opened on their own, the correct mass is reported, but if the mass is queried in the browser of the sub-assembly, an incorrect value is shown.
In this case, it is not that significant, but if Inventor cannot be relied upon to report correct masses in higher level assemblies, this is a real worry.
Running Inventor 2009.
