AutoCAD Inventor :: IDW To DWG / Show View Origins?
Jan 12, 2012Is it possible to have the origin (or workpoints, planes, axis) of each view to show up when a IDW is exported to a DWG? They show in the IDW but not in the DWG.

View 2 RepliesAfter upgrading to Inventor 2014 we notice that the graphics do not work properly, and that the overall performance in drawings and modelling bad compared to 2013. Then we installed SP1 and now drawing views are disappearing, however when we select "shaded" view the view reappears and works perfectly..
Any workaround regarding disappearing views?
I'm on inventor 2012 and I've not used it in a whlie. I thought I remembered in an assembly there was an origin indicator for each part in an assebly or a way to turn it on. I know I can turn planes and axes on in the origin folder but it would be quicker to just glance at a triad at the part origin. There's a similar command in MAYA called display local rotation axes.

The lighting settings is not so good as 2011 and requires alterations. The View - Lighting setting is always turns to Two Light instead of desired Default. The question is how to permanently set it to desired setting in ALL project? When I create the new lighting style it is visible only in that file. How to make it visible and set by default in other files? [URL]
New 2012 has option of showing the name of part or assembly while cursor stops hovering over the object. Is it any time setting of duration of that option? It is quite annoying waiting for turning off or shutting down unwanted show up. It also either work or not work at all.

View 5 Replies View RelatedWhen you have a part with a thread feature, the default setting should show the thread feature in the drawing view...rather than making the user right click the view and select "Display Thread Feature". I don't understand why this doesn't show up in the drawing automatically...it is, after all, a feature on the part.

I'm a vb.net developer and i've a project to do for my job (my company is building laser machines). So i have to use autocad for drawing and, inside autocad, add a vb.net project to transfer all coordinates to a laser.
There's no problem for the most of object, but i've some difficulties with the hatch. I explain.
I can get the coordinates for hatching with the " . explose " (it gave me lines and after that, i can have all the points x and y)
But i need to "Rotate the hatch" (for making some sorts of holes in metal by example)
(Ex : Hatch angle start at 0 degrees, then 45, then 90, etc... etc...)
How can i rotate this hatch in vb.net ? (The hatch must not change on the autocad screen, so i use a clone for getting lines). I've find a method for getting the pattern angle (ex : MyHatch.patternAngle) but it returns me strange angle (like 0,00812 etc...)
And a other problem is that the origins of hatch angle seems based on 0,0 (so, when i change angle, it change from 0,0 and not the center of the Hatch)
Is it possible to change the artboard origins to always be 0,0 (top left corner), and not relative to the first artboard in a document?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI've been having a problem with a pipe structure not showing up in a profile view. I have a single pipe network with everything (pipes and other structures) showing up in the profile when I select them, right-click, and click on "Draw Parts in Profile". Like I said, this works for all the other pipes and structures in the profile except one. When I select the structure individually and try to draw it into the profile, it still won't work. A friend told me to make sure that the structure is within the surface, and it is.
I'm using AutoCAD Civil 3D 2011.
Run profile on a self-intersecting street? The one I'm dealing with is a dead end 'P' shape. Logically, there are manholes in the intersection of the 'P', and logically to me, these structures need to show up in two places in the same profile view. Of course, C3D doesn't realize that I want a certain structure to show up twice, and I'm not sure how to communicate that information to it.

recommend a good way to indicate the location of cross section sample lines in a profile view (of same alignment) as vertical lines? the sample lines have been created at user defined locations from polylines, and do not follow a particular station order. my first thought was to use transparent command to draw line in profile view using station from plan view, but i have in excess of 100 cross sections, and that may be time consuming.
