Apr 4, 2012When making a Section view from a Base View is there a setting to make the text follow the Text Style and Paperspace text size. Everytime I create a Section View I have to change the text settings in the Properties box.

May 7, 2012When creating a new view of flighting on a tube part of it shows up like it should and part shows up as dashed lines and when you turn on "shaded" the parts that are dashed do not shade. All of the flighting parts come out of the same file and the tube is from a different file.

So, each time placing a part, in base view it will come up with correct label. Also, overall dimensions, can it be retrieve using parameters of the part?

I know i can crop the isometric view, but this way i will not see the key hole which is on the other side, it's hidden.
If i make a section it 's in an orthogonal view only.
I want to make the section view, but later to transform the sectioned view to an isometry. is it possible?

I achieve that, whit the cut view + normal view croped hover the cut view... but this isn´t a accurate process...

Is there a way to do that, since when i mark the section line, another view is created.
Or should i put the main view outside of the paper boundaries?

How would i edit the vertical code below to show the vertical scale 10 times smaller?

May 22, 2013I'm working on an assignment at present which needs to depict the site cut, fill and batters on both site and section view.
I'm trying to achieve something like this: [URL] ....
I have toposurface happening in both the existing and new construction phases, and have modified the new construction one.
I can get it to show the existing and new ground levels in section view when I change the phase filter, but I can't seem to be able to change the hatching to represent cut and fill. I even tried detailing it in, however I can't seem to get lines to snap to the section cut toposurface.

Jan 24, 2013I was wondering if there was a way to change the model my base views were linked to.
If I wanted to link the base view to a different model, would this be possible.
When I double click on the base view it shows the file path for the model that is currently chosen; however, it is all grey and I am unable to edit it or choose another file path.
How to change this? Is this even possible? Is it because I have annotated the drawing view that I am unable to change the model path?

Dec 7, 2011what could have happened in an assembly when I've changed the cube front view (3D)? The projection has changed automatically (the view) in 2D. In other assemblies didn't happened the thing I've mentioned before even if I did the same thing meaning that I've modified the front view but 2D stayed in the same projection.

2. How can I best come up with the right volume to fill.
3. Do I need to learn the grading tools? or could i get buy with a section profile from the alignment. ( it is not even an alignment yet)

The attached aerial image , has survey or cogo points that are imported to surface, to become surface points. . So I wanted to create a surface profile below and an outline of fill above it. Iideally the side profile would look like a trapezoid, where the base is the surface proile and top would be the design embankment.
But the reason , a surveying crew went down and took shots at the shoreline and a couple shots around the cave-in walls (higher elevation on the cave-in wall cannot be surveyed, although I coud have used a laser , did not) is so that a more accurate volume of the cave in can be obtained. I tried to label how far the road edge is from edge of the cave-in . Norice the higher elevations are the top edge around the cave in area.
The ouline for the embankment will be a mild slope then breaks to a more steep slope. like 4 :1 , then 1.5:1

I can make any size assembly with no problem but as soon as I go to make an idw the program crashes and shuts down. It doesn't matter if the base view is one part or 1000 parts as soon as I go to place the view inventor shuts down and I get an error.

Jan 3, 2013I'm pretty sure there's a way to do this but I am not sure on what code to use. I would like to have the "number" field on my title block template always get the "part number" attribute from the first base view (or first part/assembly) on sheet 1. This will be regardless of what sheet I am using the title block on. I could even store it as a custom property or something as I won't ever have two different part numbers in one drawing.
To clarify on that, we may have a welded assembly that has one single part number, but as I'm designing it, I just add a -1, -2, etc. to the end of the part number for each component being made. In the end when they're all welded together, it's one part number. Since no one else needs to see my -1, -2 etc, I'd like it to pull the part number from the assembly on sheet 1 for every sheet.
