AutoCad :: How To Extend Or Trim Settings
Aug 30, 2011I moved to a new PC the other day and have not been able to extend or trim to a line that is not connected. I figured it would be an apparent intersection but maybe I haven't got my settings right as it's not working. I am having to drag the lines right now and it's not very accurate!

Aug 30, 2012My Client save AutoCAD 2012 file into AutoCAD 2002. Now he is facing a problem that whenever he is working on that file some commands in AutoCAD 2007 like Extend and Trim is not working on existing lines and X-ref lines. And when i open that file into AutoCAD 2012 and 2013 then all commands are working.
when he create new line and try to use these commands then all commands are working but when he try these commands on existing lines and X-ref then commands are not working.
AutoCAD LT :: Trim And Extend Don't Work Intermittently?
Sep 6, 2013This problem has cropped up in the last few months. It only happens intermittently.
Typically I select Trim, or Extend command, right click to select All rather than a specific object, then selcet the objects to be trimmed or extended.
Sometimes though, the All command is not activated and I have to select the object to be trimmed or extended to, then select the objects to trim, etc. Then the next time I right click for All it works.

Feb 14, 2013I am using Autocad 2010. I have been using 2008, but recently upgraded. I have a project that one particular file is driving me nuts! I can not use trim or extend on any existing line work. However, if I draw two non intersecting/crossing lines and ust the 'TR' command it works fine. I have checked to see if all lines are in the same plane and the appear to be. The only way I can trim or extend is if I use the 'Flatten' command.

Aug 14, 2012A problem i have encountered with LT 2011 is the extend or trim command freezing/taking a long time to extend or trim.
If i zoom up close, extend/trim works as normal instantly, but if i zoom out further & try the same extend/Trim it can take 30 seconds or more.
I dont remember having this issue on previous LT versions, I've found this with many if not all drawings

Jun 28, 2013My 2011 AutoCAD LT for Mac just started randomly changing the trim, fillet, and extend variables. I looked on other posts and learned how to change them back to the default settings. Since then they keep changing back every few minutes.
Specifically, the TRIMMODE keeps changing from 0 to 1, and the fillet trim mode keeps changing from TRIM to NOTRIM. One of those settings seems to make the extend command also not work as expected. I've been using this AutoCAD install on this particular Mac for over a year. The only recent change is an upgrade to OS X.

Aug 13, 2009Basically, it was a way of extending the canvas size using the edge information of the image. The reason I am looking for it now is that I imagine it'd be a good way of creating a gallery wrap section for a canvas print, taking the edge detail and reproducing it. If you are not sure what I mean, have a look at this image on my blog. It's the technique I'm talking about. I have access to CS3 or CS4.

Feb 24, 2012I just tried out to trim two NURBS-Objects (e.g. 2 Spheres), but nothing happens.If i select both spheres and go to "Edit NURBS -> Trim Tool" => NOTHING or also if i try to use Trim Tool (without any Object selected), i'am not able to select a NURBS-Object.
I've used the Trim-Tool very often, but now it's not working anymore.
Photoshop :: Stamp Tool - Clone / Copy Out Background To Extend Pictures Width?
Jun 16, 2012I want to clone/copy out a background to extend a pictures width.
So far I have:
-Lassoed a selection of the background and copied it out - but wierd shading marks were left in the final result (I guess due to shade descrapancies)
-Merged all the copy layers so I could treat them as one.
-Use the Stamp Tool to clone from a perfect area of the original background but the Stap tool is again creating weird shading lines as I use it (ie, doesnt look like its apply the exact color I sampled from)
(I tried narrowing the Stamps Master Diameter also but still got weird results..)
The Stamp tool doesnt seem to be working how I thought it would work. What am I missing?!

Nov 2, 2012One of my soap box rants is about Owners Manuals and user guides. Most are a direct translation from the Japanese or Mandarin.
The VS User Manual also is fairly useless as it glosses over the useful detail. (previous query about files used by VS) In this case the Multi Trim tool has two unexplained buttons, the Ad-Zapper and the Merge CF.
I suppose the Ad-Zapper relates to our overwhelming desire to eliminate commercial breaks. (Have you noticed how much longer they have become in recent months? At least one brew and a slice of toast before the program restarts) But what is Merge CF? And how does Ad-Zapper know what is program and what is an Ad?
CorelDRAW X4 :: Use TRIM Tool On Top Of Vector Doesn't Work
Jun 11, 2011Half the time I use TRIM tool vector on top of vector it doesn't work.
I can't seem to figure out why in some cases trim works and in others it simply puts the top object under the bottom one instead of trimming it from the bottom one.
Does same thing in X3 X4 and X5?
I've tried everything from making sure both were filled with solid color - all curves closed, nothing else grouped with them - nothing - sometimes I have to try a couple times doing same thing and it will work, other times not at all - even after trying a save (which sometimes works)
Both top and bottom show on layer one in properties too!

(Like a press tool form die and form punch surface. In other words, 3d part edge is the parting line of mould and extend around for the die surface.

AutoCAD Inventor :: Trim To A Tangent Edge?
Apr 2, 2013I am having trouble with a part that I am working on. Trying to trim to the tangent edge. I cant post the part that I am actually using, but here is an example of a similar problem. In the attached file, open the "Negative Part.ipt". The sketch 2 contains a line (unconstrained). I need this line to be tangent with the curve below it.
I can project the edge of the curve to my sketch plane, but not the tangent of the radius.

Nov 14, 2012At my company we have a custom CC library with custom profiles for use in frage generator. We are having a problem with one of the frames. Everything goes well when the profiles is inserted.
But when I try to "trim to frame" the intersections of two profiles, it does not trim them correctly. It trims them in a 45 degree angle. As you can see on the attached jpg file.I tried everything. Checked the sketch, deleted the profile, republished the part.

Jun 19, 2013I have a Javascript that I have written that builds a interface of buttons in organised groups based on the contents of certain folders. Everything works fine but when you call it from photoshop and extendtoolscript isn't running it always opens it up. I have written a lot of scripts with interfaces and I have never had this problem.
Its not a huge problem for me as I usually have this program open anyway but I intend to have a team of people using this script so if I could stop it somehow it would be much better.

Nov 20, 2013I am drawing a fan wheel. The fan blade is curved intersects the shroud, consisting of two cones. I do not know how to trim the blade to the cones. I tried to "split" the blade at the cones and then "delete face" but then the "Go to flat pattern" section on the ribbon is missing. If I suppress the "delete face" feature the "Go to flat pattern" re-appears.
