AutoCAD Inventor :: Trim A Spline
Jan 26, 2012Here I enclose file Cam_Profile.ipt, this is a spline curve made from an Excel matrix with 670 points in 3 decimals accuracy (VBA editor)
Extruding is not possible because of self intersecting path.
I want to trim both two free ends from the intersection and also close the intersection for extruding this profile. However ....., without displacement of any current point in the perimeter of the closed spline!

AutoCAD Inventor :: Trim To A Tangent Edge?
Apr 2, 2013I am having trouble with a part that I am working on. Trying to trim to the tangent edge. I cant post the part that I am actually using, but here is an example of a similar problem. In the attached file, open the "Negative Part.ipt". The sketch 2 contains a line (unconstrained). I need this line to be tangent with the curve below it.
I can project the edge of the curve to my sketch plane, but not the tangent of the radius.

May 18, 2012I recieved several .stp files from a vendor and most of them imported without incident. One part is giving me a major headache though. The envelope of the solid body is much larger than the actual part. This is causing the origin to be skewed by several orders of magnitude. Any way to trim down the envelope to the part size?

Nov 14, 2012At my company we have a custom CC library with custom profiles for use in frage generator. We are having a problem with one of the frames. Everything goes well when the profiles is inserted.
But when I try to "trim to frame" the intersections of two profiles, it does not trim them correctly. It trims them in a 45 degree angle. As you can see on the attached jpg file.I tried everything. Checked the sketch, deleted the profile, republished the part.

Nov 20, 2013I am drawing a fan wheel. The fan blade is curved intersects the shroud, consisting of two cones. I do not know how to trim the blade to the cones. I tried to "split" the blade at the cones and then "delete face" but then the "Go to flat pattern" section on the ribbon is missing. If I suppress the "delete face" feature the "Go to flat pattern" re-appears.

But the custom iProperty is a Yes or No.Had no problem with this in Inventor 2011.
AutoCAD Inventor :: ILogic Design Copy - Error Copying A File / Inventor Crashes
Nov 5, 2013I'm trying to use iLogic Design Copy to copy an assembly and all its associated parts to another directory. The assembly contains content center parts. Inventor warns me that the destination file of one of the CC parts (and 18 others) will be overwritten. When I go ahead and copy anyway, the copying process stops at that specific CC part. The Design Copy Progress dialog box states there is an error copying that CC part. When I close the Design Copy Progress dialog box, Inventor crashes.
The error copying the CC part: I'm allowed to use content center parts in iLogic Design Copied stuff, right? I searched some related topics and I'm under the impression that Inventor keeps the CC parts in its own directory and shouldn't be trying to overwrite them.

The templates work great, but there is no way to specify any filetypes other than Inventor filetypes. Am I missing something? Is there a way to specify non-inventor filetypes?

Jan 18, 2013So I installed TD Inventor Professional 30-Day free trial and I downloaded the installer and went through the download of the installer process and it made an autodesk inventor folder on my desktop. I click on it and it takes me into the C drive under the autodesk file Inventor 2012 TestDrive and has an Application called TDSetup. Once I click on it it does a load wheel then nothing happens.
I can't seem to find a solution and I just installed DirectX.

Apr 13, 2013I drew 2 circles with ttr command (1 and 2). The problem is when I try to trim them to remove the part I don't need, it doesn't work cause the circles 1 and 2 aren't stick with the borders as they should. At the 4 red circle points, if you zoom you'll notice they don't stick the border, never faced this problem before (usually I cut the part I don't need without problem). I've done regen/all but doesn't seem to fix that problem.
