View 2 RepliesI have a multi layer doc. Many of the vectors peek out of the artboards dimensions. I need a clean trim to the exact dimensions. I was playing with the shape finder but did not get the results I wanted. What is the best way to trim off any vectors outside the artboard.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI set up default tolerances in my part and would like to have them displayed in the drawing. I used the "Retrieve Dimensions" tool but they aren't showing up. I have the Tolerance Method set to Default.
View 9 Replies View RelatedIs there a way to change the model parameter tolerances thru the API? I haven't seen this issue in the discussions. I've found the parameter.tolerance property, but it looks like it only returns the tolerance, Is there a way to set the tolerance?

View 6 Replies View RelatedI want to finetune tolerances so I can in example change from 68% (not enough coverage) to 69% (about perfect), but instead it jumps to 70% or 71% (waaaay too much selected).
Is it possible to write a plugin to
* Mousewheel it (pointer over tolerance bar, scroll wheel, tolerance changes) or even
* press context button (mouse button 2) and spawn a dedicated input box to "hand it in"?
I was adding a lot of aligned dimensions to a drawing and some where along the way they changed from aligned dimensions to rotated dimensions, even in the same string of dimensions.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI typically as much as possible like to insert my dimensions into my drawing from my model.
I created holes in the model as a 1/4" tapped hole
Yet when I show the dimensions in the drawing they show the minor dimension.
How do I get the 1/4" to show? I have selected the feature and still get these results.
Is there any way I can make exploded dimensions in an old drawing become live dimensions again.
View 3 Replies View Relatedis there a way to lock the dimensions to aligned dimensions...or a key i could hold while dimensioning that would do that..

Also be sure to pick the 'aligned dimension' method and not the 'linear dimension'. I hope that works in Revit as it does in AutoCAD.

View 3 Replies View RelatedHere I enclose file Cam_Profile.ipt, this is a spline curve made from an Excel matrix with 670 points in 3 decimals accuracy (VBA editor)
Extruding is not possible because of self intersecting path.
I want to trim both two free ends from the intersection and also close the intersection for extruding this profile. However ....., without displacement of any current point in the perimeter of the closed spline!
I drew 2 circles with ttr command (1 and 2). The problem is when I try to trim them to remove the part I don't need, it doesn't work cause the circles 1 and 2 aren't stick with the borders as they should. At the 4 red circle points, if you zoom you'll notice they don't stick the border, never faced this problem before (usually I cut the part I don't need without problem). I've done regen/all but doesn't seem to fix that problem.

When I use trim or extend commands and have to zoom or pan to select additional objects the command drops selection in previous view and only edits items in current view when executed.
Is there a system variable I can use to change this little time waster?
I moved to a new PC the other day and have not been able to extend or trim to a line that is not connected. I figured it would be an apparent intersection but maybe I haven't got my settings right as it's not working. I am having to drag the lines right now and it's not very accurate!

I suppose it's trying to keep references to the array and the original entity that the array is based off of, but at this point I don't wish to keep that information.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI am having trouble with a part that I am working on. Trying to trim to the tangent edge. I cant post the part that I am actually using, but here is an example of a similar problem. In the attached file, open the "Negative Part.ipt". The sketch 2 contains a line (unconstrained). I need this line to be tangent with the curve below it.
I can project the edge of the curve to my sketch plane, but not the tangent of the radius.
