View 2 Replies View RelatedWe are currently running Inventor 2010 Professional (64-bit) on our computers with Vault 2010 on a remote server, but are ready to upgrade to Inventor 2012 Professional. Will we be able to continue to use Vault 2010, or will our Vault (ADMS?) need to go to 2012 also?
A side question, what are the strategies to update the files in the Vault to 2012? As needed? Setup an automated task?
curious and cant seem to locate it on the main website

View 1 Replies View RelatedI recently installed Vault pro 2013. I was running Inventor 2012 at the time.. My vault add-in stopped loading. I installed Inventor 2013 and the vault add-in still won't load. I've gone to the Add-in manager 2013 and set it to loaded. I hit the "OK" button and nothing. Open the manager up again and it says "unloaded". Something is going on that is not allowing my vault add-in to load.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am getting the attached error when trying to check in an assembly and idw. The Vault is pointed to the C drive, so I'm not sure why it isn't finding the files within the C.

Vault: Files are not displayed if opened in Detail view. Must go to the Incon view to display files. Then, switching back to Detail view, file (Vault) status is not shown. If click "Get/Check IN" on file, Vault will crash and shut down. More recently, an HTTP 404: Not Found error appears when clicking on files - may disappear after a wait or clicking on the file repeatedly.
Inventor: Cannot access any files through the Vault tab - Inventor crashes and shuts down. If file opened from Vault instead, it will open and can be saved, checked In/Out.
All of this started a couple of weeks ago shortly after installing Windows Updates. It occurs only on my machine. No other Vault/Inventor user is having any problems. Two IT techs spent a week trying to solve the problem. The only solution was to unistall and reinstall everything including Windows 7. It worked great for a week until another Windows update was installed - now back to the same problems.
Just installed inventor 2013 and the icon to launch vault is missing from the ribbon where it used to be in v 2012. Also when i try to open a file the quick link to vault is not there. i have installed vault basic 2013 and it opens up fine and my files are in it. Do i have to create a link?

View 6 Replies View RelatedI have installed Inventor 2013 on a machine just so that I can use this machine to migrate my files using the Autodesk Task Scheduler. I started the TS, then Create Task>Migrate Files task. I selected my "Vault" project and get a message that says "Vault Projects not supported".
I noticed that in the Migrate Files dialog, there is not a box at the top that says "Migrate from Vault".
This is installed on "Windows Server Standard x64" OS.
I tried a repair install and Reinstall on the Inventor 2013 installation. Problem still persists.
I was getting this error on one of my users machines, inventor 2013 vault add in could not find the data management services
I uninstall Vault workgroup 2013, Inventor 2013, re install, and re install add ins, worked for half a day, and just got the same error again,
it seems As Inventor looses the add in, what was intersiting it gave an error about some unerlaying error after disgarding that, the add in doesnt work anymore.
I also cant copy design from vault on the same machine, all Inventor related files cant be copied, but dwg files can.
I get the feeling its an Inventor issue, my last resort is a clean install.
I'm trying to attach a daylight subassembly that follows my DOT chart below. Is there one that does all of this or do I need to use a condtionalcutorfill and "something else" to do it? If the case, what subassembly would I use for the "something else"? If it's cut, the table below also determines the backslope... forming a ditch. How is the clear zone factored in? I need it to go the the flowline of the ditch when it's in cut. I have a design speed of 40mph, ADT of 7000+.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have code that works just fine in AutoCad 2010 (just plain ol' AutoCad), but will not run completely in AutoCad Mechanical 2012. The code will draw lines, arcs, circle, plines, etc. as well as insert blocks. The command to insert the block has the entire block path so I don't have to rely on setting that up for everyone.
In AutoCad Mechanical only the blocks show up. No lines, arcs or anything else is drawn. I do not use a command method (like in LiSP) to create those objects, I create them through the block table and block table records.
What do I have to do to get my code to run in AutoCad Mechanical 2012?
I have a Windows 7 machine running AutoCAD 2013. When trying to open any drawings from our AutoDesk Vault 2013 server, AutoCAD will hard lock/freeze and can only be closed by using Windows Task Manager. When accessing the same files through the Vault first, without opening AutoCAD, they open with no issues.
View 1 Replies View RelatedWe are currently using 2012 Civil 3D, and we have a issue with a drawing that not all the Pipes from the pipe network are displaying in the Profile, and even the pipe properties display box the lengths show up way too long and the stationing does not display correctly in this pipe properties box either.
The Big Twist is that we have 2 machines in the offices that will display the drawing correctly, in profile view and pipe properties display box has correct lengths and stationing. So we know it is not styles, etc.
Direct support has suggested we un-install all Autodesk products and reinstall them all again, we tried the repair, however this did not work. Any other way before we have to go through all this work, as we are looking a huge amount of downtime, and we do not think this is the issue. Perhaps a Civil 3D variable or Autocad variable is different?
Can you save files for 2012 in 2013? I have the ability to upgrade to 2013 while others at my company are not able to, since they were not put on the subscription service. If I upgrade will they still be able to open my files or can I back save to a previous version? I know I can save it as different file type, like .iges or .step, then use feature recognition. But I need them to have full editability to sketches and features.
