AutoCAD Inventor :: Vault 2013 Check In Error
Oct 8, 2013I am getting the attached error when trying to check in an assembly and idw. The Vault is pointed to the C drive, so I'm not sure why it isn't finding the files within the C.

View 3 RepliesI am having issues getting my .dwg files to check back in to Vault Basic. I can get all different types of files (.iam .ipt .idw) to check in without issues, but .dwg files hang and Inventor will eventually lock up.
I've tried disabling Visualization and I still cannot make it past this point. I can even tell it to check in everything at once, and it will breeze through the other files but any .dwgs will hang.

We are currently using Inventor 2010 Professional Suite. Most of the users here are working with AutoCAD Mechanical. For the most part, it does the job. The person that previously used Inventor has moved on to bigger and better opportunities. Recently a new person was hired to utilize the Inventor software for initial designs. The original software was loaded on a new machine and everything seemed to work fine. Inventor was able to checkout files from the vault and were able to be manipulated accordingly. The issues began when the individual started to check the files back into the vault. It would appear everything works fine but the files never appear in the vault. Even if we create a new directory and attempt to check them in, the new directory is created in the vault but the files will not check-in.
If we use AutoCAD Mechanical, the files will check-out and check-in fine using the addin tools. It would appear all the rights are setup correctly. We even changed the new user to administrator and it still did not work. No one else has Inventor installed, but I am about to install it on another machine this Thursday when IT is in.
We have attempted to even drag the files into the vault just to see if that would work, even though we know this method is usually not the best. Still no success.

Following a recent Inventor crash (another topic entirely), I re-started Inventor and logged in to Vault Workgroups, all with no problems. From the Ribbon Vault Tab I chose Open, browsed to and selected one of my I-Assemblies. I clicked the down arrow next to the Open button at the bottom right corner of the dialog box, and was surprised that the Open (Check Out All) option was grayed out. This has never been the case before now. I have checked with quite a few other Assembliles and I-Parts, all of which are currently in sync with the Vault, and none of them allow me the option of Open (Check Out All).
This has persisted for 2 days now, meaning I have shut my workstation down completely and re-started each morning. Is there some system setting or variable that needs adjustment? Is there some disconnect between the Inventor Vault add-in and Vault Workgroups itself that results in this option being disabled?

I'm wondering if it is possible to check-in drawing into vault using i-logic?
If you check-in a drawing into our vault, it automaticly exports a .dwf to a storage server. We also have a simple button for making .pdf of the drawing to sent to the customer.
What i want to ensure is that the .dwf file and the .pdf file are the same. So when i press "make a .pdf" the rule will save my document, make a .pdf and (if possible) check it into vault. So from that point the .pdf for the client and the .dwf on the server are the same.

I have a Visual Basic.NET add-in that displays a dialog in Inventor. The code in this dialog opens some parts in the background. This has always worked fine, but now I'm working with Vault and when the files are not checked out Inventor displays a small window and asks the question if you want to check out the file. The problem is that this small windows stays behind my add-in dialog. Is it possible to show the check out windows on top of my add-in dialog? I tried form.show and form.showdialog, but this doesn't seem to make any difference.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI use something like the code shown below as part of an Inventor add-in that automatically checks in modified parts and drawings. Everything works perfectly except for one problem. After a file is checked in using this process, the Vault Preview is unavailable. The message in the Preview window says "Unable to view the file selected. Click the 'Open' button to view with an external viewer."
Dim byteArray() As Byte = IO.File.ReadAllBytes(fullFileName)Dim fileBom As Autodesk.Connectivity.WebServices.BOM = serviceManager.DocumentService.GetBOMByFileId(vaultFile.Id)serviceManager.DocumentService.CheckinFile(vaultFile.MasterId, Environment.UserName, False, IO.File.GetLastWriteTime(fullFileName), associations, fileBom, False, vaultFile.Name, vaultFile.FileClass, false, byteArray)
What needs to change so that the Vault Previews will be maintained? This is with Inventor/Vault 2012, but a solution using a more recent version would also be great.
Im working on a program that checks out syncronizes some data with our erp system and then checkes in the files again to vault. all works fine but in vault all links to other files are gone? when i checkin the files from inventor manuel then the links are ok in vault. therefore i wonder if it is possible to run the vault checkin dialog "hidden" and just pass in some predifined options and checkin to vault.
View 8 Replies View RelatedDuring checkin of inventor 2011 idw files into Vault Basic 2011 we get some people get sometimes an error:
The people that get the error have enough rights on the destination network location where DWF's are saved to write, change or delete files. The only difference is that the OS is Win 7 Pro 64bit instead of Win XP 64 bit.
The old win xp 64 bit have not the above error. We are now upgrading from 2011 to 2013, but would like to solve the above issue / wrong setting.
The DWF's are generated during checkin by inventor.

Using Inventor 2014 and Vault Basic 2014. It was working this morning but now when Invnetor is opened it automatically logs into Vault and says it is successful but the open from vault icon is greyed out. Similarly when opening a drawing from the vault it used to automatically run and open inventor but now seems to lack the connection. Even when manually opening a drawing that is in the vault by downloading it from the browser and then opening in inventor there is no Vault tab on the browser and all Vault commands except "log out" are greyed out. I think it has something to do with the add-in as well as the Vault group.
View 2 Replies View RelatedInstalled Product desgin suite 2014. I can create a new inventor dwg file and place a base view of an assembly into it. I then attempt to check it in and it causes Inventor to not respond and eventually crash. When I reopen the dwg from my working folder and attempt to check it in again it gives me an error saying that the file already exists.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI recently installed Vault pro 2013. I was running Inventor 2012 at the time.. My vault add-in stopped loading. I installed Inventor 2013 and the vault add-in still won't load. I've gone to the Add-in manager 2013 and set it to loaded. I hit the "OK" button and nothing. Open the manager up again and it says "unloaded". Something is going on that is not allowing my vault add-in to load.

Vault: Files are not displayed if opened in Detail view. Must go to the Incon view to display files. Then, switching back to Detail view, file (Vault) status is not shown. If click "Get/Check IN" on file, Vault will crash and shut down. More recently, an HTTP 404: Not Found error appears when clicking on files - may disappear after a wait or clicking on the file repeatedly.
Inventor: Cannot access any files through the Vault tab - Inventor crashes and shuts down. If file opened from Vault instead, it will open and can be saved, checked In/Out.
All of this started a couple of weeks ago shortly after installing Windows Updates. It occurs only on my machine. No other Vault/Inventor user is having any problems. Two IT techs spent a week trying to solve the problem. The only solution was to unistall and reinstall everything including Windows 7. It worked great for a week until another Windows update was installed - now back to the same problems.
Just installed inventor 2013 and the icon to launch vault is missing from the ribbon where it used to be in v 2012. Also when i try to open a file the quick link to vault is not there. i have installed vault basic 2013 and it opens up fine and my files are in it. Do i have to create a link?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am running Inventor 2013 with vault 2013 on a brand new system. Everything was working great for a week or so, then inventor started to lock up during checkin. It would lock up with even a small simple part. I had the IT department try to remote in and change settings, with not luck. Then they "rebuilt" the system over again, this got things working for about another week and after that the problem started up again.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have installed Inventor 2013 on a machine just so that I can use this machine to migrate my files using the Autodesk Task Scheduler. I started the TS, then Create Task>Migrate Files task. I selected my "Vault" project and get a message that says "Vault Projects not supported".
I noticed that in the Migrate Files dialog, there is not a box at the top that says "Migrate from Vault".
This is installed on "Windows Server Standard x64" OS.
I tried a repair install and Reinstall on the Inventor 2013 installation. Problem still persists.
I was getting this error on one of my users machines, inventor 2013 vault add in could not find the data management services
I uninstall Vault workgroup 2013, Inventor 2013, re install, and re install add ins, worked for half a day, and just got the same error again,
it seems As Inventor looses the add in, what was intersiting it gave an error about some unerlaying error after disgarding that, the add in doesnt work anymore.
I also cant copy design from vault on the same machine, all Inventor related files cant be copied, but dwg files can.
I get the feeling its an Inventor issue, my last resort is a clean install.
I have a Windows 7 machine running AutoCAD 2013. When trying to open any drawings from our AutoDesk Vault 2013 server, AutoCAD will hard lock/freeze and can only be closed by using Windows Task Manager. When accessing the same files through the Vault first, without opening AutoCAD, they open with no issues.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have an assembly that was created on 64 bit version of Inventor 2013, the total file size of everything is around 150MB. Even if I use 'Pack and Go' to move the file to another computer running the 32 bit version I get an error when I try to open it which says something like:
'unable to allocate 3GB memory for FBAttributeSegment'
The actually figure is over 3GB but of course on a 32 bit version of windows it is physically impossible to allocate that amount of memory (even with the /3GB in boot.ini hack)
I've performed various dynamic simulations as well as animations within the assembly so I'm thinking that perhaps its trying to allocate that huge amount of memory for a saved state of one of those.
What FBAtributeSegment might be and whether there is any special way to save an assembly to avoid this problem? The name FBAttributeSegment doesn't correspond to any part or assembly names.
I should also add that I have no problem opening it in a 32 bit version of Fusion which again suggests to me that it is something like simulation or animation that is causing this
When I try to check-in a feature to table that is stored on SQL Server I get this message: "'FdoSpatialGridTransform::CalculateParameters': The resolution is too large (> 0.1) for the extents."

View 2 Replies View RelatedIn AutoCAD 2011 and 2012 my spell check instantly recognizes a misspelled word as soon as you enter a space after the word as you type.
AutoCAD 2013 does not recognize the misspelling until I go back (still within the text editor) and click on the word. Only then will it show the red underline. This is using Dtext only. Mtext works fine.
For the bad spellers or missed keystrokes, the fast "on the fly" spell checking was great. How to get my AutoCAD 2013 to behave similarly?

I have recently started working with civil3d 2012 & 2013 so go easy one me...
How can i check the elevations of 2 alignments that cross (junction)?
The localization team in Israel has added a utility that marks the junction on the profile view with a red flag and 2 marker lines, one for the existing ground and one for the elevation of the crossing alignments. The flag is not a civil3d entity, it's not dynamic and needs to be reset after each change.
Any better way of checking the elevations? (including adding a block or anything to the profile to show the other alignment name and elevation).
The spell check works, almost. when I type a word that spell check does not recognize, I get the red underline, but when I choose to add it to dictionary, no dice. if I ignore, close the editor and reopen, the red underline is there.
What to do, what to do?
