AutoCAD Inventor :: Assembly Opened With Big Zoom In
Dec 20, 2012When I open my assemblys, It opens with a big Zoom in, and i cant see any thing!
I have to Zoom out every time... How can I repair this.

Photoshop :: When Zoom In One Open Window / All Other Opened Windows Zoomed Too
Oct 9, 2013This just started happening quite recently and it's really annoying me, but I can't find a preference where I can switch it off.
If I'm working on an illustration and zoom in on a detail, I'll find that any other open windows (within Photoshop CS2) have zoomed with exactly the same amount too, and I have to resize them all. Very time consuming when I'm zapping between open windows. Is this a setting I've inadvertantly clicked or a bug in the software?

Apr 5, 2013I am having problems with zoom, pan and rotate at high zoom level. The movements becoming jerky and delayed. But for whatever reason the problem exists in some assembly files and not in the others.

Sep 18, 2012We have an iLogic assembly with to parts in it. Maybe to cylindrical parts. The iLogic rules should do the following.
1. Start a Rule after open document.
2. This Rule starts a Rule in the first cylindrical component.
3. This Rule ask the user for a diameter.
4. The assembly gives this new parameter value to the second component
5. Then the assembly calls another rule in the second component to change it with the new parameter
Everything is working fine when the following combinations are taking place:
1. I open up the assembly out of vault or from a local drive or an accessible server drive
2. I insert the assembly as sub assembly in another assembly from a local drive or an accessible server drive
It don't work with the following situation:
- I insert the assembly as sub assembly in another assembly out of vault
Then the user becomes the dialog "Choose a diameter" twice.
I don't know why, but I have the idea it has something to do with the functionality of inventor to insert a component more than once. If you insert a component in an assembly Inventor gives you the opportunity to add more than one occurence after each other.
change that behaviour? Maybe a switch to change that inventor "add more than one occurence" behaviour.
AutoCAD Inventor :: Tube And Pipe Assembly Styles Don't Translate Into Other Assembly Files
Feb 9, 2012I have encountered a problem with the Tube and Pipe styles.
As you can see, I have a rack assembly with a custom tube and pipe style. A wire as a tube in orange, and a tube support in white. Both have their seperate colorations at a style in the tube and pipe styles editor
When placing the rack assembly into the main assembly, it reverts to the coppor coloration I changed from the original style.
Steps I've taken:
Exported the styles .xml and Imported the styles into the master tubeandpipe.iam
Imported the user created .xml styles into the main assembly file nothing seems to work
AutoCAD Inventor :: Find Interior Volume Of Assembly By Subtracting Assembly From Block
Apr 23, 2012I am trying to find the interior volume of an assembly (when am I not?!?!) by subtracting the assembly from a block that surrounds the most of it. Somewhere the assembly has a "leak" and I have been trying to use the Cross Section Analysis to track down where the inside lump is connected to the outside lump to be subtracted. Is there a less time consuming way to dynamically drag a plane across and get cross sectional views?
Even better is there a simple way to animate the analysis plane moving across the block so I can hopefully just watch and pause it when I find a leak?

Oct 31, 2011My assembly has grown (about 50 parts) to where I need to consolodate some parts into subassemblies for reuse and alternate iterations of the basic design.
When I import the original parts into a new assembly, all of the constrains I created are not there of course.
I've tried creating a new empty part and then deriving a new part from the assembly, but I can't add, delete or edit any parts.
I looked at using Shrinkwrap, Substitutes, iParts, Multi-body Parts, and Multiple Solids but I remain confused.
In retrospect, maybe I should have created the subassemblies between the part and assembly stage but I didn't.

This is easy enough through the iProperties/Occurrence tab and then adjust the location of the X,Y, and Z offsets. Is this possible using iLogic? I have been unable to find a function to access via iLogic. Ultimately I am trying to translate a component about an axis not a pattern.

Oct 3, 2013I have a two part duct fire damper assembly. The IDW has the combined two part assembly, which I know how to turn the CoG on, so that it can be dimensioned. The problem is each piece will more than likely be hoisted separately so I would like to show the CoG for each piece, not the combined master assy.is there a way to do this?

Nov 28, 2013When I try to run Inventor.exe it shows loading window and then it disappear and there's no response. I've tried to run it from Start->(..)->Inventor and any possible location but nothing worked. I've also tried solution with deleting C:ProgramDataAutodeskADLMCascadeInfo.cas file but this doesn't worked either. Autodesk DWG True View, ReCap and others work correctly. I use student version of Inventor 2014. It has been working previously 6 or 7 times. Same issue was with Inventor 2013 after 3 months no using.

We export PCB's and assemblies to Altium PCB CAD tools as step files and have just noticed that the colours don't travel well at the moment! The assemblies just end up light grey/white. I tried an earlier stp export dated 2011 and that opened fine in Altium but not any 2014 exports.

AutoCAD Inventor :: Preview In Recently Opened Documents-list Displays Incorrect Dates
Dec 22, 2011I can't remember when I first saw the recently-opened-document-list in which you can preview the documents; you hover your mouse above one of the documents listed there, a preview of the document pops up, and if you wait a second longer, underneath the preview some dates are displayed (modified date, Version info etc.). For as long I CAN remember, these dates have always been set to 1-1-0001 0:00:00, see picture below. I hoped that the release of Inventor 2011 solved this issue, but after installing Inventor 2012 this year, this issue has still not been solved. Is this an Inventor issue, or is it Microsofts responsibility?

Jan 8, 2013My keyboard has a zoom key with + and - selections. I use to use this key in drawings to zoom in and out when in the AutoCAD application when we had Windows XP. Now that I have Windows 7 I can't do this. I can't find out how to assign this key on the Microsoft Keyboard interactive software either. I have the other keys assigned as desired.
Can I still use my keyboard zoom key to zoom in and out in drawings? If so, how do I set this up in AutoCAD, or do I need to do this through a Microsoft keyboard application?

Oct 27, 2011If I zoom to page in an IDW the paper space does not fill the screen. On my screen I have 15mm of space between the paper and edge of workspace.
Is there a way to make this fill the workspace by whichever is the greater size (height or width) of paper? I just want the page to fill the screen more.

Apr 12, 2013My company is using inventor 2010. I have 64 bit edition. When I zoom in on a dwg or ipt it zooms for like 1mm then my screen goes gray. If i click the restore down button then restore back to max drawing comes back but as soon as i try to scroll zoom again with my bamboo pen the screen grays out again. I've already updated my video driver to latest version and i've updated my bamboo pen driver to latest version. I also booted windows 7 64 bit into safe mode and check device manager to make sure no broken drivers or anything like that. Some times it will work for a few min then start graying out my screen again.
