so i have a file that when i zoom extents i can not see or select anything by window but when i use the command erase all is says there are 42 objects in the file but i cant find them

When I try to make a pipe network the structures are visible but the pipes are not present. I thawed all layers with no success. This is a recent development because It was working last week.

I'm working a drawing orginally developed in C3D 2013 and am now working in 2014. I have developed a speadsheet in Excel 2007 and have link pasted a portion of a worksheet into my drawing. Later, i have to re link paste the same portion of the worksheet after making some edits and the object will now not paste into the drawing.I have tried the following without sucess:
-Load drawing into C3D 2013 and try to paste
-Load drawing into C3D 2014 on another machine and try to paste
-Save excel spreadsheet as a .xls file instead of .xlsx and try to paste
-Run audit in 2014 (no errors) and try to paste
Other drawings loaded into 2014 work OK when link pasting.
Is there a way to count all types of object in a drawing?

"Qselect" does it but it can be very slow if there are a large number of objects in the file.
I guess this information is savea as "meta data" and can be accessed even without opening the file???
Would there be a way to write a lsp to change all the drawing layers? I need to change a bunch of the object layers, multiple times, and don't want to make another template with the other layers. I have 3 sets of layers needed?

for example in the imported file i have points to describe a road center line(CL),or edge of the road(ERD),breaklines(BRKL) and want lines represented by the descriptions to be drawed in the surface so that i can use the lines as guides in profiles design.I didn't want to use point number which are not serially ,and have tried to use point grouping without any success

View 2 Replies View RelatedWhen I click on a civil 3d object the contextual ribbon will light up (which is fine) but instead of my cross hairs comming back in the drawing window I get the pointer that would be used to select an item in the ribbon (in the drawing area) and I have to click in the drawing area to get my cross hairs back or to grip edit the object or to delete the object.
Is there a option/setting I need to change to be able to get me cross hairs back after selecting a civil 3d object?
Just move to Civil 3d 2012, this worked just fine in '11...
Is it possible to have a dynamic block with text which, when inserted into a drawing, will show the text orientation matched to the layout? I have a non-dynamic block which is simply a donut and a piece of text. When I insert it into a drawing, the text orientation will change to suit the orientation of the layout. I created another block with the same entities but I also added a couple of lines extending out from the center of the donut. I added stretch and rotation actions in order to rotate and stretch the lines. I also gave the block visibility states so that either one or two lines would appear (the block is a utility pole,by the way, with the lines representing guy wires). When I insert the dynamic block into a drawing, I cannot get the text to match the orientation of the viewport. I've tried changing different combinations of settings but the text won't appear horizontal.
The two blocks I mentioned above are inserted into one file with a number of other blocks. When I check the properties of the non-dynamic block, the "match orientation" is set to YES. I cannot, however, change the "match to orientation" setting to YES on the dynamic block. Is this simply because it is a dynamic block or am I missing something? I don't create a lot of dynamic blocks and therefore I am not a wizard at it so I am assuming I am doing something wrong.
The layer is on and the ground levels on the architectural drawing in model view show the number and the box surrounding them however in the drawing window be it in the numbers have dissapeared and we are left with only the boxes ?

View 5 Replies View RelatedWhen I use the copy tool, not copy and paste, the object that I copy doesn't show up. I click on an object click the copy took then click in the location where I want the new object, nothing shows up. Then if I save the drawing, close and reopen it, the object will be show up in the new location. It sometimes happens with move and rotate. I'm using 2013 64 bit version on Windows 7.

I'm making a surface out of contours. The problem is the contours have the elevation listed under object information, not geometry (the contours were brought in from a GIS file, which I do not have access to, or I would bring them in again with the elevations properly assigned, this is not an option). How can I quickly change the geometry elevation property to match the miscellaneous property?

I am trying to copy and paste a bar scale from one drawing into another at 0,0…. But it won’t show-up, as you can see from the attached there are 17 blocks in this drawing but none of them will show-up, I have even tried to re-insert the block but still no joy….. I have a drawing where I am cutting a section on one sheet and them moving it to another sheet. Is there a way to get the section mark/callout to state on which sheet the section resides?
For example instead of the section just stating "A" it would say "A/3" or "A/Sheet 3" or something like that?

I am trying to understand how Linetype scale works, and have been researching on LTSCALE, MSLTSCLAE and PSLTSCLAE. I believe I have a fair understanding of each of these settings. Still, I can't figure out how the scaling works while I was trying to create custom line type. To illustrate, I created a new linetype called XCENTER, which is exactly the same line type as CENTER except its name, in a new LIN file.

After loading the new linetype into my drawing, I was surprised to see that CENTER and XCenter show up in different scales in the same drawing (see png).
My work file is WORK.DWG, I have purged everything except the two polylines, one with the line type of CENTER, the other xCENTER. Not that my global scale is 1:100, LTSCLAE=, MSLTSCALE=1, the object scales are both set to 1.0.
I copied the two lines to clipboard and pasted on a brand new drawing TEST.DWG, and the two lines show up in the same scale.
What in my original drawing WORK.DWG is causing this problem?
I have a command which proccess entities in the drawing and creates a SelectionSet. But, on the drawing i do not see the selected objects . I need to show grips on selected objects . It is a looks like a Quick Select command. What can i do? What method showing the grips?

I set the view to show hidden lines, then i attach a sketch to the view and project the hidden lines that i want.
But when i put back the view to hidden lines removed, the lines on the sketch disappear as well
i wish to set up a mobile reciever device that can integrate with an autocad dwg drawing to show my physical location in the real world as a point on the drawing screen in real time.
I guess you would say it would work exactly the same way a GPS map works however instead of using the GPS and street map i would be substituting in a construction site base station and autocad drawing.
p.s the "Leica" system will not do the job for me. from my search so far it mainly works with elevations rather than lateral positioning in real time. i do not want to have to constantly move emitters and or receivers on the worksite in order to track my movements in real time and display them on the cad drawing i have in front of me!
