AutoCAD Inventor :: Drawing Doesn't Show All Workpoints

oPartDocument.ComponentDefinition.WorkPoints.Item(2)
All I have is one item. (Center Point)

After upgrading to Inventor 2014 we notice that the graphics do not work properly, and that the overall performance in drawings and modelling bad compared to 2013. Then we installed SP1 and now drawing views are disappearing, however when we select "shaded" view the view reappears and works perfectly..
Any workaround regarding disappearing views?
I've been trying to create a LinearGeneralDimension on an IDW from one Workpoint to another.
It crashes when i call the .AddLinear
Here is my code snipit.
Inventor.DrawingView dv = FindDrawingViewInSheetByName(sheet, "VIEW12");
if (null != dv) {
Inventor.WorkPoint p1 = FindWorkPointInAssemblyByName(dv.ReferencedDocumentDescriptor.ReferencedDocument as Inventor.AssemblyDocument, "MR1");

I'm working in Inventor 2012 and new to VBA and I'm gonna kick myself if there's a really easy answer to this. I've got 120+ WorkPoints on corresponding WorkAxes on an irregular pattern both horizontally and vertically. I'd like to Select all the WorkPoints and add a mate Imate then all the work axis and add an insert imate to ease placement of a part at each location within an assembly (this scenario crops up quite often).
I've been trying to use AddMateiMateDefinition but it doesn't seem to let me pass a WorkPoint to it, is it possible?
I have a drawing that I created with acad 2010 that has a pdf xref attached. I just updated to 2013. And now when I go to plot the drawing my xref shows up in preview but doesn't show up on the plot.
I can go back to my 2010 version, and it plots fine. What gives?
I'd like to drive the position of workpoints by coordinate values defined in Excel. Inventor allows me to initially create them using values from a linked spreadsheet, however the positions do not change when the spreadsheet is updated. Is there another technique that could do this?
View 1 Replies View RelatedOur Council has been updating our school system. We have the design suite and have chosen Inventor 2013, AutoCAD 2013, Inventor Fusion.
The issue is that in Inventor the EDIT FORM tool isn't on the Ribbon. It also isn't on the add in's for Inventor 2013 either.
We also downloaded the suite direct from AutoDESK.
I created a skeleton and now i want to derive the sketches and planes to other parts. It worked for a while, but now it does not work!
The problem is when I create a new .ipt and then I would like to Derive an other part in it. I click on the file from the browser, it puts the part into the .ipt, well, sort of, it's like a visual effect, but NO Derive window appears afterwards, so I cannot edit which sketch or parameter or planes...etc.. I chose to actually derive to the .ipt.
In my part, there was already an existing Engineering note.
I wanted to add another note. I added my new note, but it does not show up in the browser. I can right click on the note note > Display note and both notes are shown in the engineering notebook. When I exit out of the notebook and go back to Inventor, still not there. Here is a short video of what I am seeing.
[URL]. The "Rev B" noteis the original one and Note 2 is the one that I just added.
Now I if I add another note, then all of them will show up in the browser. This is not the first time that I have seen this, but just thought I would bring this up.
This part was just made with a copy design from Vault. What is weird, is that if I go to the part that this was copied from and add the note, it shows up correctly then. Its like something is getting hosed in the copy design process.
I have a drawing where I am cutting a section on one sheet and them moving it to another sheet. Is there a way to get the section mark/callout to state on which sheet the section resides?
For example instead of the section just stating "A" it would say "A/3" or "A/Sheet 3" or something like that?

I want to show only a few hidden lines in a drawing view.
I set the view to show hidden lines, then i attach a sketch to the view and project the hidden lines that i want.
But when i put back the view to hidden lines removed, the lines on the sketch disappear as well
How do you show associated BOM quantities on balloons in the drawing?
View 7 Replies View RelatedI thought I had virtual sharps figured out but I guess not. I can dimension to the virtual sharps point but the wittness lines are not showing up. Thus it appears that the dimension is to something off in space. Where do I find the setting to show the wittness lines and select the style of lines? As I wrote this I thought of "styles editor" but I didn't fijnd anything there either.

I made a table in the file and also split the part into 2 solids.
In the drawing, when i choose the first table mamber it shows both. when i choose to show the active member it shows the first member only (as i want).It didn't happen before i split the part.
My zip program doesn't know to include only the subfolder with the generated table files, only the whole path. i hope you will manage to generate the files, if not-i will add them with the whole path
I'm currently working on a Spa design and using new tools which is all new to me. I've used Draft Angles before but on a spa where you sit normally the sit reclines back.
Now I'm not sure how to do / show this in a 3D drawing. I've read and serached for different things but have yet to find something similar I'm looking for.
I've attached a PDF along with the circled area as to what I'm trying to accoomplish. Wanna be able to show the dip etc via Inventor.
This is something that I have tried to understand and find a work around since I started working with Inventor. Is there a way to insert a BOM into a part drawing that does not reference itself? When we create parts they are cut or machined from a designated material (size, shape, etc) which has it's own part number, one that we have to manually enter into the drawing BOM with it's description. Is there a way to attach this raw or base material to a part file as a subordinate part that can be seen in parent assembly's BOM's?
If there is a way to attach a raw material to a ipt's BOM that can be seen at all levels above it we could explore the option of streamlining our BOM creation process.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI am using parameters from a .ipt file to display dimensional information on a drawing file I have created (the fields colored red are the parameters it is reading). How do I get them to display as fractions instead of decimal? I want it to read 5"1/2 instead of 5.5", for instance. I have tried inputting them as fractions in the parameters dialog in the part file, but no luck, they still come out as decimal.

I have created a weldment assembly of various pipes attached together and would like to create shop drawings. Please see attached picture for model tree. View 3 Replies View RelatedWhen you have a part with a thread feature, the default setting should show the thread feature in the drawing view...rather than making the user right click the view and select "Display Thread Feature". I don't understand why this doesn't show up in the drawing automatically...it is, after all, a feature on the part.

For example, He has a car assembly file with 4 wheels and alot more subassemblies, then he creates a view representation which only visible for 1 wheel.
When he generates the part list in Inventor 2D drawing, he go to part list >filter setting and set to ‘’Assembly view representation’’ but the quantity for the part list is still showing as 4 as per attachment.
change the value manually inside the part list table?
I have an iPart that I have created parameters to perform some basic calcs so the values will show up on every member. The parameters are correct for the different member so it appears to be working correctly on the model side. For example I have a parameter called 'CutLength' that performs simple math functions. But when I make the table on the drawing and I include this parameter, I see the formula in the table instead of the value. Is there a way I can have it display the value instead of the equation?
