What's the best way to model an alley with a 90 degree angle (turn). Do I treat it as an intersection with a zero radius? My typ section is 15 feet width with a 4% slope down to the center of pavement. "V" bottom. Not sure how to get it to model the outside corner and also eliminate the inside overlay.

Is there a way to convert those lines into plines, so i could extrude and cut.
I am trying to make a toilet paper roller; standard white ones with the spring inside [URL] .
I need to cut the bottom of the cylinder at a 45 degree angle from the center to wall so if the roller was standing, it would be at an angle of 45 degrees to.
I have attatched what I have so far.
I am having trouble with the slicing. I am not sure how to chop the whole cylnder at an angle.
Also how do I remove the yellow lines and the white line with the measurement .1280 (you'll understand when you open the file)
I am trying to make a cut on a 12" D cylinder at a 45 degree angle and i am having a little trouble. I have projected the shape onto the curve and sketched it. Now to finish the cut do i need to scuplt that path or how do I go about doing this.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to create a dynamic block for plywood. I have the stretch parameter working so that I can stretch the plywood to the needed length. I also have set a rotation parameter based on the various roof pitches that we use. The problem is I would like to be able to rotate the sheathing to a 45 degree angle and then stretch along the 45 degree angle. Once I rotate the sheathing the stretch does not follow the rotation angle. I have attached the file.

I have some repeating information that I want to wrap around the border of an image. Being that it is repeating information, the text can also look like the first and second image uploaded, where part of the word is cut off. I would prefer this to be minimal though.
So far all I have found in my time searching on this leaves the words distorted.
No matter the complications, this also needs to be scripted. It is not feasible to do this manually as the repeating information is dynamic.

I'd like to orient a picture of a book so that it's on a 45 degree angle and then "cut out" the area around the "book" to that when you view the picture is looks like a book on a 45 degree angle with no area around it. I'm sure GIMP can do that but the question is whether I can put that same photo on a website and have it look like it's a book on a45 degree angle.

View 4 Replies View RelatedHow to make Multi Leader end line landing or turn 90 degree vertical? I just want to use the leader point to the part and no text at the end of the leader. I guess the only way i know how to do right now is to exploded the M-leader and draw a line vertical down which is not recall proper way . Some people like to use just Leader not Multi leader but i like to use M-leader so i can enter the text in difference line. (See Pic below)

We received a surface model from a vendor that I have patched up as best I can, it still has one hole that I can find that I haven't been able to fill. Ideally we would like to have a solid model, but I'm running out of time to get this done and the surface model we have would be good enough for our purposes IF I can get the yellow surface tangent lines to turn off or change their color to black.

As the radius of the circular alignment (R) is calculated from the “degree of curvature” (attached) then I couldn’t figure out how to select a particular value for the “degree of curvature” (R=1718.8/Da) and then to label the horizontal alignment with it.
I am trying to create an expression so that I can put the Dc into my alignment curve label. I am using (5729.58/Radius) for the expression and using Double for the format which comes out fine in decimal form as in a curve with a 200' R comes out to be 28.6479º, the problem is that I need it to come out as Angular DMS... when I switch the format to angle it comes back as 1641º24'14".
View 4 Replies View RelatedI received a drawing from a client, which has all the features on a coordinate system, But the drawing is rotated for some reason. Even after rotating the drawing the coordinates are the same as it was prior to rotation. I believe there may be some variables that has been changed for this. If a line is drawn A@100<0 it is drawn vertical instead of horizontal and like wise @100<90 is drawn horizontal instead of vertical.

How to label the curve with its degree of curvature (Da)?
Degree of curvature (Da) can be calculated based on two different ways
Arc definition (considering 30 meters arc length):
Da=1719.74/R
Chord definition (considering 30 meters chord length):
Da=ASIN(50/Radius)*2
The issue here is that there is not built in option to label the curve with its degree of curvature.

I am in C3D 2012 and using Romans.shx for my text. When labeling an Arc, the degree symbol comes out too close to the following text/number. Is there any way to adjust the spacing on curved text. On a straight line it looks fine.

View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen i used to draw a rectangle, circle, line, etc- a box (or several) boxes popped up after i clicked the first point. These let me enter the distance then hit the tab button and go to a second box to enter height or angle depending on what i was drawing. There was also some popups that showed up when clicking the chamfer or fillet buttons but now those are all gone. When i input numbers, it goes to the command bar.
How can i get those small popup windows to reappear in my modelspace?
How do I model (or calculate) the fewest welds/fittings required to change angle and elevation in a pipe run, as shown in Option1 below.
For this example the constants are: 8" standard steel pipe, one of the fittings is a standard butt weld 45 (12" radius), bend angle is 70 degrees, and the elevation change is 9". The custom fitting is cut from a standard 8" long radius 90.
Note: Option2 is just shown for reference, I'm only interested in solving Option1

I would like to draw a smiple line using the transparent command 'AD (angle-distance).
My distance is not horz., so I want to enter the Vertial angle and the slope-distance, in LLD the command was AD VD.
So how do you do this in Civil 3D 2012.
AutoCAD command to turnoff the Model/Layout tab in autocad 2014 or which function i need to call from code.it will trunoff the modellayout.
