I have a label style creating a callout bubble for structures in a pipe network, but it keeps placing the label (and therefore, the leader when dragged) at the edge of the structure, and I want it to go to the center.

I have a sanitary run manhole to manhole with null structures in between for lats. Each null is named "wye(lot#)" which I really do not need labeled anywhere but grants me the illusion of order and control. When I label the manhole (style uses text for each component) it references the inverts as from adjacent structure the nearest of which is the null. I need it to reference the upstream manhole as the from structure. BMP?
Another issue is the text for each component. There are times when I need to have the manhole label show "INV 8" IN 209.50 Int Drop (MH110)" or "INV 8" IN 208.75 w/ Slide (MH 108)". But as you know if I add to one I add to all. I found a post that discussed editing the xml to do this but my code either looked different than the example or I was looking at it cross eyed. I think if I could add an invert type column to the structure properties pipes tab the text for each component could add it to the label.Is there a better way people have been handling this?
I have 7 manholes in my network, only 3 of them are visibile in the model tab though.
There is structure label on all of the manholes
I can use select similar to mark them and i get "Structure (7)".
I can even see them in the object viewer.

View 5 Replies View RelatedIs it possible for a civil 3d structure to be displayed correctly in profile view when the alignment does not pass through the insertion point of the structure. See the attached screen capture.
The rectangular structure is a storage tank and there will be a pipe coming in on one end and the exit pipe will be on the adjacent side at the far end, just as the alignment shows - but the structure doesn't show correctly, or now how I expected.
I'm working with a structure profile label style and it seems like the only way to anchor the position of the label is based on offsets from the structure itself... Any way to position the label based on the top of the profile view, so that I could make all of my labels horizontally aligned above the profile view?

Also I had created a style in C3D2007 to display the pipes in profile as a single line. This was done by drawing the flow arrow in a non printable colour over the top of the pipe.In C3D2008 this is no longer possible. So now what?
I'm working in Civil 2012 and I'm putting in existing SD. I put in 2 DI's and a MH all on the same network (there is only one in my drawing) and I go to put in pipes and I click to connect to the first DI and then I'm kicked out of the command. What do I do?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have my pipe networks data referenced into my Utility drawing and I'm trying to add labels to my structures (catch basins, manholes...). I made styles and selected C-TEXT as the layer for the label, but for some reason they're all on layer 0. The 0 layer is frozen in my viewport but the C-TEXT layer is not, and the labels aren't showing up (but when I thaw 0 they show up)! I can see them in model space and when I click on each label the properties shows it's on the C-TEXT layer...

Actually, I thought it was going to be pretty simple, just by doing:
PIPE FALL = INCOMING PIPE INVERT ELEVATION - OUTGOING PIPE INVERT ELEVATION <CONNECTED PIPE OPPOSITE STRUCTURE NAME>
or
PIPE FALL = INCOMING PIPE INVERT ELEVATION - SUMP ELEVATION <CONNECTED PIPE OPPOSITE STRUCTURE NAME>
I just need to define the elevation difference between the bottom of the structure and the incoming pipe invert elevation.
Is there a way that I can get a small angle between my leader and the landing? When I get to a certain angle, the text flips. I can't place the text exactly where I want it because of this. I've tried changing the Readability Bias angle in the label style but that didn't work.

I don't see how you can conditionally affect a portion of the "connected pipes" label since it's one label object.
I have a pipe network created that is shown in multiple drawings. I created labels for the structures showing Rims and Inverts. How to put the Rim info on a different layer than the Invert info? Right now the label has 3 different components...I feel like there has to be a way to put each component on different layers...

Typically when we have station offset for a storm structure shown to center of structure. How do you handle station offset with a storm structure label for say back of curb.

View 2 Replies View RelatedWater main pipe network profile labels for structures do not attach to the structure properly in C3D 2014 (this same label style works fine in all previous versions of the software, through the 2013 release). The labels come into the drawing at a northing of 0 rather than attaching to the structure itself. However, if you grip edit and reset the labels, they reset to their correct attachment point. Additionally, if you attempt to grip edit the profile labels with Ortho mode on, it moves the label back to a northing of 0. I've created a new block for the structure, but that does not resolve the issue.

When I reposition structure labels (in their 'dragged state'), the component <[Structure Offset Side(CU)]> does not show up while in drag mode. Sort of makes it hard to see the limits of the label if you are trying to place it in a congested area. Watch the "LT" part of the label in the GIF below.
No, it's not that big of a deal, but alignment labels with the same component do not behave this way, so I have to wonder why the structure labels do.....
I have a road with storm drain and sanitary sewer. There are three alignments, one for the road centerline, one for the sanitary sewer and one for the storm drain. I would like to label the structures with the stationing from the alignment it's on but I would also like the label to include the road centerline station perpendicular to the structure.
Something like this:

Sta. 10+00
=Road Sta. xx+xx
I'm trying to create a custom expression in a structure table that will list the "size" of the structure, wheter it be a circular or rectangular structure. My column simply states size and I want it to label 5' for a circular or 4'x4' for a rectangular (or whatever the specific sizes are). The thought was to create an IF function, but Structure Shape was not available to use in expressions (among other problems). Short of using the description field (tedious) as a workaround?
In this example - CB-104 is a rectangular structure and CB-106 is a circular. I'd like the CB-104 size to read 4'x4'.

A way to change the display order of pipes connected to the structure in a structure label? (plan and profile) Say you have a 10", 6" and 12" pipe connected to a structure, modeled in that order, so label would place them 10, 6, 12. we would like the label to display the order as 6,10, then 12 without having to drag the pipes off and then having to re-input inverts.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI am working in C3D 2011. The end station on my alignment is 163+02. The last major station label is 163+00. The label text overlap. I want to turn off the end label of 163+02. The end station is not checked in my Alignment Style or in the Geometry Points style. I am assuming there is a command in the Settings/Alignment/Commands that is overriding the changes I have made in individual styles. I have found some post concerning this from 2004 but they do not seem to be applicable in 2011.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI was given a horizontal centerline of a 5 mile bike path. We have to stake all the even stationing every 50 feet and all the VPC's and VPT's with vertical elevation. I have created the horizontal profile and also the vertical profile including all the vertical curve information. Is there an easy way to incorporate the elevation information back into the plan view so I can create points that carry x,y & z points that I can transfer out of autocad as a .txt file so we can upload it on our gps equipment?

My dismay is the label orientation when I run the AECObjExplode, since all my alignment labels need to be VIEW oriented. I am trying to set-up point and point label styles to show trees on a survey plan. The point styles is set with a block, and a label is a regular label style that shows a point number and elevation. The problem comes when the label is positioned outside of the block that represents the point. What I need is sort of fixed offset from the center of the point.
