The section-plan(surface red).png is showing the section editor and the plan view. the red highlighted line in section is the corridor surface and as you can see in plan view the surface is incorrect and wiggly.
The pdf is all my sections with the red linework being the corridor surface.

May 13, 2013My company had always used LDD until we were mandated to switch, our first project in Civil 3D is in the works. So far we have gotten through the beginning stages (alignments, profile, corridor, assemblies) but we are having a major issue with where to go from there. Right now I am trying to complete the design line work on the plan (wheelchair ramps, driveways transitions and signage) As of now I cannot get anything to line up easily with the corridor. I have been able to snap to the corridor so I can create a line at that exact spot to be correct, but then when I offset it will not change the elevation, I tried doing feature line and projecting the feature lines to the surface and some of it works but it becomes very buggy. My transition lines don't transition and some other lines I would expect to be at the same elevation have major grade changes. How to create the luinework at the correct elevation and with correct transisions along your corridor and surface?

Nov 22, 2011We have created sections from our corridor. We see FG and EG, we can use bands for EG from surface. How do we get the FG band to show the elevations for FG? The only option we have is the EG surface. We have tried to create a surface form the corridor in the corridor properties but that surface still doesn't show up in the surface list in the bands. I would have thought this info would be dynamic and come directly from the corridor would it not?

Jun 27, 2012I am working in C3D 2011. The end station on my alignment is 163+02. The last major station label is 163+00. The label text overlap. I want to turn off the end label of 163+02. The end station is not checked in my Alignment Style or in the Geometry Points style. I am assuming there is a command in the Settings/Alignment/Commands that is overriding the changes I have made in individual styles. I have found some post concerning this from 2004 but they do not seem to be applicable in 2011.

Jan 18, 2013I was given a horizontal centerline of a 5 mile bike path. We have to stake all the even stationing every 50 feet and all the VPC's and VPT's with vertical elevation. I have created the horizontal profile and also the vertical profile including all the vertical curve information. Is there an easy way to incorporate the elevation information back into the plan view so I can create points that carry x,y & z points that I can transfer out of autocad as a .txt file so we can upload it on our gps equipment?

Dec 7, 2012Using 2012, latest SP. I have a master drawing @ 1:500 with alignment, prof's, corr, etc. I have a second drawing @ 1:200 to be used for section views. I've data referenced the alignment, prof's, srf's, etc. I've created the section views in the section view dwg and xref'd the master dwg.
My problem is that the corridor model will not display in section views anywhere along a spiral in the 1:200 dwg. It displays fine everywhere else along the alignment. Just not spirals.
I have section views in the master drawing that will display the corridor just fine in section view at these same stations along the spirals.
AutoCAD Civil 3D :: Xref'd Profiles In Plan View?
Aug 28, 2012I am simply xref'ing a profile drawing into a sheet drawing to print out. AS shown on the attached, when the profile comes into the xref I lose all the band data and the EG line does not come in as a dashed 2 line as the layer is set to. It almost looks as if the PL linetype generation is off for this line.

i made a reference label and it works great. now i am trying to figure out if there is a quick way to locate the pvi station on plan view other than doing something like create a point using sta. and offset as parameters hand typing in the info.

Jul 9, 2013I'm working with plan production sheets and having some trouble. My vertical exaggeration makes me want to split the profile, but when I do it, they get glued together. My left vertical grid numeration stays on the middle of the grid and I get a lot of information overlapped. What I need is to put some gap between these, or split'em. Other issue is that the axis offset of my Profile Style isn't being applied, as well as other configs.

Dec 30, 2013Is there a way of adding superelvation data such as full superelevation cross slope to an alignment curve label in plan view?
In my case we add a label for each horizontal curve with critical curve data such as PI Station, Delta, Degree of Curve, etc... but I can't seem to find a way of adding any superelvation information to the plan view as a label. Ideally I would like to be able to add the maximum cross slope value and superelevation critical stations to the label.
There is a way of adding the superelevation critical stations a labels to the alignment similar to how PC's or PT's are labeled, but it does not give the cross slope value.

Aug 31, 2012Edited a corridor section. Hit some button (not sure what) now I can't get back to my regular view. If I select the "Top" view, now all that shows up is one contour, and the top of one cross section, like it's only showing stuff that is at one elevation.

I can't freeze the layer because then I only see my baseline for the alignment. I want to see the offsets of the road. I have tried creating an offset of my alignment but it will not create the offsets for some reason.
I want my final output to show the entire road over my OG topo survey but do not want to see section lines every 25ft

Oct 18, 2013I'm using the Ditch subassembly in my corridor and am running into a problem when using realistic mode to view.
I've applied a render material to L3, L2 and L4 which is fine but when I assign a material to L1-L5 (i.e Top) it overdraws (or otherwise fails to display) the previously assigned materials for L2, L3 and L4.
If I set the Links L1-L5 (i.e. Top) to no display then L2, L3 and L4 display as expected but when IMX'd to Infraworks the existing terrain shows through at Links L1 and L5.
Is it possible to stop this from happening and have a seperate material for L1 and L5 whilst retaining L2,L3 & L5 materials?

I can use select similar to mark them and i get "Structure (7)".

AutoCAD Civil 3D :: Viewframe Groups And Creating Multiple Double Plan View Sheets?
Jan 10, 2013I new to using the view frame groups we do allot of double plan view 11x17 sheets using an alignment on top of MrSid aerial drawings. It is very time consuming to setup the viewports along the alignment doing the old fashion method of copying the page setup and sliding the model space along the alignment for the next sheet. I understand the plan profile and cross section methods of creating multiple sheets and how the viewframe group works for those type of sheets. I'm just not sure how to create a dwt template for one plan view on top of another plan on the same sheet with to viewports. I know I'm not the only person that creates road cl double planviews when your not concerned about a profile.
