AutoCAD Civil 3D :: Line And Curve Labels And Tables
Jun 22, 2012I am doing a project and I have a lot of feature lines. I will need to be able to lable these feature lines with tags and then create tables for those. My question is, is there an easy format that I can do that will lable these lines in an order I set it up? Right now it just lables all over the place. The lines are counting the curves too. For example: L1 L2 L3 C1 L5 L6 C2 L8. I can make it work, would just think there is a better way. BTW I am using Civil 3D 2011.

Feb 27, 2008How to start back to curve & line tag number 1 after generating tags?
During Parcel creation I told it to apply curve tags and it did what it said, created curve tags. Never again until I get comfortable with it. Looks great but want to have some order here. It's really random. I know it's not LDD but in LDD you could clear tags and start over. How to do this in 3D? From what I understand even if you do not display tags they are still created right? So where do I set the default starting number? Settings > Parcel > Commands > CreateSite?

I have discovered that the points from it is created are fixed in Z value.
You can use the grips with object snap , you can move the grips but the Z values are preserved......
it should be to get the Z value of X,Y,Z given by object snap , isn't it ?

Aug 16, 2011Is there anyway to reduce the extra space in the table rows. We finally ran into a situation on a job where the tables have to be smaller. So we ended up exploding the line & curve tables and manually adjusting the spacing.... Exporting the table data to excell would be useful, but cant find a way to do that. Reporting the line calls to html and copy clip to excell would work, but cant seem to do that either.

Sep 17, 2010We would like to be able to rotate line and curve labels in Civil 3D 2010.
Some of our drawings get really crowded and we need to slightly rotate the line or curve labels. This is fine with regular autocad text, but how can we accomplish this with styles and dynamic line/curve labels? I can't seem to find a way to do this with the grips and setting up new styles with specified rotations isn't an option because we need to be able to fine tune and eyeball the rotation of the label to make it look right.

Oct 11, 2013I've created a Line & Curve table to display my metes & bounds. One of the curves is displaying an incorrect length, off by .01. It was caught as my project was reviewed by the city engineer. I went back to the database (Prospector --> Sites --> Parcels) and my mapcheck does conflict by .01.
Why is the mapcheck different from the Line / Curve table? How can I 'fix' the table to match the mapcheck data?

Jun 19, 2012I need to lable the delta of a PI in an alignment where one segment is an arc and the following is a non-tangent line.
Geometry points don't offer delta and Tangent Intersections won't label at PCs and PTs.
Is there an expression that can be used?

Dec 9, 2013The vertical spacing in curve and line tables (the space between the text and the horizontal line) is too big. This makes the table too long and hard to fit on maps. For regualr tables, you can modify this. However, for curve and line tables this is not available. Is there a .NET file that creates/formats the tables that I could modify to reduce the spacing??

Jan 26, 2013We are upgrading from LDD2008 to Civil3D 2013. I'm working on a Civil3D template
I'm setting up line and curve label style. Oringally we were going to have one set of line label style. Ex. Bearing Above or Bearing Below. After seeing that the line labels does not look at the current text style we decided to make copies of the original label styles based on Text Styles.So now I have Bearing Above60, Bearing Above100, etc. I named them based on the Leroy styles and sizes.
After editing each one and changing the Text Style each one looks at, it is not using the Texting Style i assign it. I'm doing this in the General Tab and Text Style for each label style.
i guess I should have tested before creating all them to find out it didn't work.Does it need to be done somewhere else or is do I have to do something with the overall label style overrides?
AutoCAD Civil 3D :: Alignment Line / Curve LTscale Won't Change
Oct 7, 2012I am setting up a template for my company and have noticed that I can't change the line/curve/spiral LTscale:
I have chosen a layer with the CENTER linetype for my line/curve/spiral in the style editor. The Alignment appears correctly with the CENTER linetype. However I want to make the dashes a bit bigger, so I change the LTscale in the style editor to 4, but then nothing changes.
When I change the same setting for the "line_extensions" element to the same layer, these WILL update when changing the LTscale.
All my LTSCALE, PSLTSCALE, MSLTSCALE are set to 1.
All other lines, such as polylines and featurelines, as well as the line extension lines of the alignment update correctly. Its just the alignment line.curve/spiral elements that do not.......
Are these locked somewhere?

AutoCAD Civil 3D :: More Vertices On Curve For Dynamic Alignment Feature Line

I'm trying to create a surface using feature lines. I have an alignment and profile that I have created a dynamic feature line. However, on a horizontal curve, it apparently creates a vertex at the start and beginning of the curve, and nothing on the curve, so it triangulates between those two points and that's it.
Do I need to play with spiral tessellation (0.25), mid-ordinate distance (0.1) to get some points along the curve?

Oct 3, 2012When trying to etransmit a dwg from Civil 3D 2010 which has line/curve tags with tables built from them, we are getting output which has the table headers but no entries below. The cad user on the other end gets no line/curve data. The other user is on Civil 3D 2011.

Aug 9, 2012I created a road centerline profile and corridor and then created a profile of the two curb lines from the corridor. The road profile that I made has a vertical curve in it but the curb profiles do not show that information, just grade breaks every 25 feet based on the corridor sampling distance.
I would like to have the vertical curve information on the curb profiles.
AutoCAD Civil 3D :: Error 607 / Inlet A9 Gutter Capture Curve Is Not A Valid Curve
Dec 31, 2013I have ran an analysis and SSA gave me Error 607 on the report. It says "Inlet A9 gutter capture curve is not a valid curve."
A couple things I did different from the video lectures...
I selected user define for the Tc to figure out Q. i computed those manually.
For the Inlets I have selected Maximum Capture Cutoff.
There are some inlets in this model I created that do not capture 100% of the flow so i created conveyance links to account for the bypass flow.Not sure why is not recognizing the Curve?

Aug 25, 2012I have 4 corridors on same alignments (pics1). I created materials for each corridors (pic2). Then I created multiple section view for each corridor (pic3) ( for all corridors in section view table tab, i added corridors own materials). but cumulative material volume reset to zero at each new corridors beginning. In my project, corridors cumulative material volume value should continue from the previous corridor's value. Can i connect this volume tables or can i merge corridors ?

Nov 8, 2012I am doing a little trial and error on possibly converting a drawing from .ctb to .stb. When we start a new drawing, it will be started using named plot styles so it shouldn't be an issue. But there are times when we receive a drawing from someone else and need to convert it.
The first thing I did was convert ctb to create a conversion .stb. Then I used convert pstyles to convert the drawing to named plot styles. For the plot style table I chose the conversion .stb I just created because it needs a color mapping table.
But I don't want to use the converted .stb table, I want to use my company plot style. So when I am in layer properties manager, Plot Style is still grayed out and I can't change it.
When I type in pstylemode, the default is 0 (read only). How do I change it so it's not read only and I can use my own plot style table?
AutoCAD Civil 3D :: How To Annotate Add Labels And Tables
Aug 1, 2013I managed to input the values of "Point Number", "Easting", "Northing", "Point Elevation" for 8 points of my CDC project that has 4 Sampling Locations with 2 Depths in each location - see the attched file for details. I also manually added the SampleID to the "Name" of each point. Now I want to do the following 2 things via the "Annotate" menu:
1) Add Labels: Instead of Point Number, I want to use the SampleID to label each point. How can I do it?
2) Add Tables: I have some chemical results/data (in Excel .csv file) for each point. I want to attach these chemical results/data to each point. Should I create an external Database? How can I designate that external Database is for the 8 points of my CDC8pts.dwg? How can use the external Database to label the chemical results/data to each point?
I have read some tutorials:
(i) I rotated my CDC8pts.dwg several times - the current view is from the Bottom of Z-axis and the Point Numbers are in the reversed mode!! How can I set the Point Numbers in the normal mode? If the Point Numbers are replaced by the SampleID, how can I set the SampleID in the normal mode too?
(ii) I saw the "Point Groups"/All Points thing on my CDC8pts.dwg, they appeared in this dwg, after I did the inputting for the "Point Number", "Easting", "Northing", "Point Elevation". Should I do something on the "Point Group" before I do 1) and 2)?

Mar 7, 2012I'm working in Civil3D 2011. How to export the data from the surface volume tables to excel, or any other format outside of Civil3D?
Or maybe a better question: how to create a stage storage table automatically within Civil3D? The elevations table gives volumes per elevation class, but I'm trying to get cumulative volume stored below various elevations in my reservoir.

AutoCAD Civil 3D :: Inserting Excel Tables Into 3D 2013
Oct 14, 2012tried to insert Excel tables into 2013 3D? It worked fine in 2012 but we just upgraded to 2013 and it no longer works. We get an error message that Excel is not supported. Is this a new feature or a bug? Also, our old drawings with the table already inserted does not plot normally. The table characters print at diffent sizes.

Jan 23, 2012I am working on a corridor project where I have to make section views of the road. I created my sample lines by range of stations, and made all of my section views from there. Now I need to add volume tables for each section view.
I have 28 section views, and more to come when I do another set of sample lines for another road, and I don't feel like going through each section view individually to make volume tables for them.
Is there a way I can create total volume tables for all of my section views at the same time? It would save a lot of time!

Apr 12, 2012I've got the Pipe Table style just as I need it except for one thing. I have all circular pipes and I would like the "size" column to display in inches rather than in feet. In the past I was able to multiply this number by 12 in the style composer but that doesn't seem to work anymore.
