AutoCAD Civil 3D :: Volume Tables For Multiple Section Views
Jan 23, 2012
I am working on a corridor project where I have to make section views of the road. I created my sample lines by range of stations, and made all of my section views from there. Now I need to add volume tables for each section view.
I have 28 section views, and more to come when I do another set of sample lines for another road, and I don't feel like going through each section view individually to make volume tables for them.
Is there a way I can create total volume tables for all of my section views at the same time? It would save a lot of time!
how to get the sections to center or to add a x, y offset distance. The only options I have found for placement are lower left, lower right, upper left, upper right.
When creating multiple sections using the draft option what settings control how the sections are placed? For example, 5 across, 4 down.
edit - I have several alignments. One that has 8 section views is created with 4 across and 3 down, another with 18 sections is created with 5 across and 4 down and a third with 34 is created with 6 across and down. I'd like to be able to control this if possible.
Every time I try to create multiple section views in Civil 3D 2014 the system hangs and never generates the views. It looks as if it's processing but it never stops and never generates.
I have created multiple sections and produced drawings, but now need to amend the design and provide 1 additional section on the drawings. I added an additional sample line to the sample line group and then updated the secion view layout but the additional section did not show in the multiple section view. Is there a way to add the additional section to the existing multiple section view? or do I need to go through the process of deleting the current sections and creating a new multiple section view that includes the new sample line?
I am attempting to create section views from a corridor. I have about 80 sections total that I would really like to stack 3 high...then just across the page. Any step by step that make this process easy to understand?
Right now I get 10 high then across the page (using 'draft' option). I've tried to make a dwt at a 10 scale, (setting the viewport at 10 scale and viewport as a 'section' in the properties), but when I use that, the sections start overlapping (this is using the 'production' option).
I have projected objects to multiple section views (ProjectObjectsToMultiSect) but now I want to remove them all. How do I remove all of the projected objects?
I can select an individual section view and go to the Projections tab in the Section View Properties and uncheck the projections, but how do I do this for all the views at once.
I've read a few threads on this way back but cannot locate them. I have two surfaces and create a volume surface and it reported the volume as 493 cy. I then ran some sample lines at 25 foot interval and the total volume is reported as 964 cy.
I have 4 corridors on same alignments (pics1). I created materials for each corridors (pic2). Then I created multiple section view for each corridor (pic3) ( for all corridors in section view table tab, i added corridors own materials). but cumulative material volume reset to zero at each new corridors beginning. In my project, corridors cumulative material volume value should continue from the previous corridor's value. Can i connect this volume tables or can i merge corridors ?
I'm working in Civil3D 2011. How to export the data from the surface volume tables to excel, or any other format outside of Civil3D?
Or maybe a better question: how to create a stage storage table automatically within Civil3D? The elevations table gives volumes per elevation class, but I'm trying to get cumulative volume stored below various elevations in my reservoir.
I have lots of section views with some surfaces and pipes. Unfortunately, in a number of section views pipes are not shown in full height because the section view level range is too little. What I am wondering is - is it possible to automatically adjust section level ranges so that they fully include pipe sections? Please see also the image in the attachment.
In my section editor my labels show up correctly and in all the locations I want. But then, in my cross section file, I look in my section views and they are completely different. When I try to label more points under the Code Set Styles, they won't even show up on my section views.
I have been asked to place volumes on cross sections with a certain look, that I am not sure if it is possible. For know I am just going to use text, but I would like to come up with a solution for our template and work flow. Below is an attached copy of a markup I have received asking me to show this information on the cross section similar to how he has written it. At this point I only know how to create the tables of to the side. Is it possible to dynamically show this information quickly like shown below? I have a feeling the engineers I work with will not be happy at all with a table off to the side. I am currently using 2013
Civil 3D 2013 HP Z400 Workstation 6GB of RAM 296GB HDD ATI FirePro V5700(FireGL) Win 7 Home Professional
I am trying to create section views to track beach erosion. I have created an alignment and sample lines successfully. The shorter sections look as they should. The longer sections are a mirror of themselves (ex: a section that should be 529' in length is drawn as 1058'). Is this a matter of needing to create a corridor and going the other processes that normally have to be done for a road or is there something else I am missing here?
I'm working with civil 3d 2012,I'm trying to find a solution for the following problem,in Civil I have an alignment of 2kilometer and they want a section view every 5 meters,
automatically I can create over 500 section views, no problem there, but then I want to plot these 500 section views to a png file, and to do that I need to get all of them in separated layouts, for which there also is an automated function but its stops at 255 layouts,I've done 4 km in split up drawings..I've got 40km left no option splitting it up in 1 km sections.
I have the task of creating elevation views of a site. These views require that the model be clipped along a section line to crop the forground so it doesn't obstruct the view of the site.
I've experimented with the section plane tools in the 3D modeling workspace but I can't get a section view. I suspect it is because they don't work with C3D surface objects. Any workflow for this task? Ultimately I need to generate hard copies of the views for the architect to use for his landscape plans.
I have section views @ 50 feet along my corridor and i want to show them on a sheet. When i create a viewport, those section views are not display in Layout Tab?
I created a base drawing for sections that references an alignment. I xrefed in the drawing where my corridor was created. When I create the section views, the corridor shows up perfectly.
I then created a blank sheet and xrefed in my section view base drawing. In this sheet drawing, only parts of the corridors are visible.I have a C&G on one assembly and a shoulder on another assembly that aren't visible. (see pics)The first pic is my section base drawing.
I have to represent a road section with limits of houses or any interference on field. All of thees interferences are poly lines, 3dpoly, lines, etc. Is it possible to have a little mark or something like this in a road section, it will work for me a lot for represent the houses in my sections.
I am doing public works type project. A simple road widening project. I created an alignment, surface, profile view and basic road assembly (from tool palettes) and corridor.
I created a corridor and referenced it to my "profile view", "alignment" and to "basic road" assembly. When I created section views, it shows only existing grade based on the surface and the basic road assembly is not showing on my sections. I can't figure out how to do it.
I have searched the Help fine in Civil 3D, I have searched the tutorials and Knowledge Base online, I have searched the Mastering AutoCAD Civil 3D manual, and I can not fine how to turn on hatching in Section Views. I'm currently running Civil 3D 2013.
