AutoCAD Architecture :: Apply Unwrapped Jpg To Box?
Dec 16, 2013
I created a solid box, I have a flattend (unwrapped) jpg of a shipping container. I can't get it to wrapp around aligned. It looks like it put the material on all sides and it wrapps all 4 sides over each out so its all wacked up.
I have attached what I am doing - I was able to do it back in 10 but can't figure it out after 3 years.

In Autocad Arch 2013, is there some parameter or option that will turn off the default behavior of dropping out part of the hatch or color, around a peice of text? In other words I don't what the white space that forms around a text object when I apply a hatch or color region.
I have a hatch pattern in one of my objects. I want to apply exactly the same hatch pattern to other objects but I don't remember the settings for original hatch.
There is a command in ACAD to apply properties of one object to others (brush icon in toolbar). I tries to use this command but it seams that it doesn't work for hatch.
What is easiest way to apply a hatch pattern from an object to the other one?
I updated my computer to windows 7 32 bit and need the file: AdskHwCertificationDatabase.xml - version 17.1.0.4 so that I can find out the correct driver for my OS and my quadrofx 1700 graphics card. Autodesk doesn't support 2008 Architecture and the on;y file I can find is buried in a torrent file with a pirated copy of 2008 and I DO NOT wish to download that.
Im currently using Autocad Architecture, is it true that Autocad Architecture creates a bigger file size compared to Revit Architecture? Lets say that same structure and components are created.
The content browser in AutoCAD Architecture 2013 does not seem to be working on a standard users computer. The profile has been rebuilt alongside a repair/reinstall through the control panel.
Ctrl+4
Tools > Content Browser
and typing content browser in the command do not result in anything.
I do not get why new Archicad Architecture has 3d modeling when Revit architecture already provided for it. What is the different between those two? I really want to know the difference. It bothers me somewhat about them.
Often when I attempt to insert a sheet list from the project navigator to a sheet, nothing happens. The sheet index will not insert. Why does this happen? Better yet, how can I fix it?
Can you apply a jpg to the side of a 3-D box in AutoCAD? I think I remember doing this with Rhinoceros before, but unfortunately I don't have access to that program right now.
I was having trouble with _copyclip/_pasteclip and I found a link at Autodesk with a hotfix, which I downloaded. It has these instructions:
"However, drawings that were previously saved in these formats from AutoCAD 2007 will continue to have the problem unless they are resaved with the hotfix applied"
Whe plotting drawing with a raster image in Autocad Map 3D, a dialog box pops up and reads "Failed to apply styles" and Failed to get band data". I have adjusted the RASTERPERCENT and the RASTERTHRESHOLD and the issue is still not resolved.
I 'm trying to make a can of coca-cola in autocad 2013 but i can't. The texture never fit right on the model. How can i apply the texture correctly to make the can.
I'd like to have a fast method to apply "something" to view my drawings labels and points (by now) with different styles depending of my needs. I'd want to view my "station points " with a green circle near the station number, but In other "work scene" maybe I want to see nothing more a one pixel point, or I dont want to have my work space full of numbers....
I'd want to have a dropdown menu to customize how I'd want to view my cartography. The same I'd need to layouts. Is it possible to say this layout plots this symbol in this way and this another plots it using another style? ( and if possible to have a global way to do this with a whole set of styles)
Also... Is there any way to apply this when use a xref ? That is to say: is it possible to get my main drawing have control over its xrefs ? I'd want to have a way to view this xrefs in different ways...also a way to override layers properties from the main drawing.
I have an elevation which requires stone panels to be installed. The elevation was created in a single part using the multi-body method. Photographs were taken of the stone slab and modified, it was turned into a BMP with a low res. of about 75. (Tried to keep everything small). As I begin to apply the texture of the stone with the decal method (due to proper positioning and scale size) Inventor starts to run very slow and pauses (Not Responding). The more decals I apply the more it stop working. I don't understand why this process is utilizing 7 GB of ram.

i know how to apply a filter to my Layers dialogue box - i use this often to just show local layers when i have a .dwg with a few xrefs in it, each of which have heaps of layers within themselves, and i don't need to see the xref layers etc
How to do a similar thing to the Properties bar layer field?
until now, when i needed to change the layer of an entity, i click on the little arrow on the RHS of this drop down field in the properties bar, and then have to seek out my layer name, which could be amongst the hundreds of xref layer names, depending on the naming conventions used etc.
i know with perfect naming convensions or by putting a "0" in front of my local layers, then at least all of mine will be grouped together at the top, but is there a way to bypass that option to ONLY show local layers???
I have got as far as understanding the difference between CTB and STB plot styles, and have identified I require STB, as I want to apply plot styles to individual layers as opposed to certain colours.
I have converted my drawing from CTB to STB and have set up an STB plot style to acheive what I would like. However I am unable to apply the styles held within this STB to individual layers in the layers property manager. In the plot style coloumn they are slightly greyed out, upon clicking on a layer a 'Select Plot Style' box appears which lists the "normal", "style 1" & "style 2" that I have created. However upon choosing a different style and hitting ok it doesnt apply my selection.
I am reasonably confident my STB file is setup correctly, as it is possible to apply the styles to objects using the object properties box, and for these to then be printed correctly to the style assigned.
I have found where / how to apply a background mask to text (listed in the properties box when I highlight text). The list of fill colors does not include white. I was hoping to create a background mask that did not add a shaded box to a black and white print but simply blocked out the contents behind the text.
I have a polyline that I would like to have a thickness of 1. But I'd like the thickness to apply on one side of the line or the other. Not from the center, thus allowing 0.5 on either side of the center.
We are trying to apply a chamfer / fillet, anywhere betwen 0.5mm - 1.00mm, to the attached ACAD 2004 / ACAD 2012, 3D model, along the edges connectiing from the existing chamfer / fillet, up each side to the top - where you will see there is no chamfer / fillet - (the outside of the cup profile,Attachment 34929 Attachment 34928not the inside of the cup profile).
That resolved the problem, the software struggled a bit with filleting till we tried a smaller degree, then it worked - we thought it would automatically fillet (flow) in / out according to what dims were available.
If I draw a flat square, and then a flat circle next to it, can I do things using iLogic that will make the two seperate parts interact? such as say 'if the circle contacts the square, then make the square become a circle too' or something like that?
I have an iLogic rule that I want to add to several files that are already existing. Is there an "easy" way to do this other than opening each and every file, creating a new rule, pasting in the code and then saving the file? If I had a macro that would create the rule I could run it with KwikBatch.
i have a standard template(page layout) DWT file, that i need to apply into multiple drawings. is it possible to create a scipt for that cause i have 100 dwg that already has a template that i need to replace by the new one.
I'm trying to override the F9 key with an AutoLISP subroutine invocation. However, though I have redefined the Temporary Override Key (associated with the F9 key) in the CUI editor, the F9 key nevertheless still triggers the default Toggle Snap Mode behavior. So it's not accepting the redefinition even though the new definition persists between AutoCAD sessions.
