AutoCAD Architecture :: White Space Forms Around Text Object When Apply Hatch Or Color Region
Aug 8, 2012
In Autocad Arch 2013, is there some parameter or option that will turn off the default behavior of dropping out part of the hatch or color, around a peice of text? In other words I don't what the white space that forms around a text object when I apply a hatch or color region.
I have a hatch pattern in one of my objects. I want to apply exactly the same hatch pattern to other objects but I don't remember the settings for original hatch.
There is a command in ACAD to apply properties of one object to others (brush icon in toolbar). I tries to use this command but it seams that it doesn't work for hatch.
What is easiest way to apply a hatch pattern from an object to the other one?
When using the 'space generate' option when inserting a space, the tool automatically turns off 'object snap' and then of course it doesn't turn it back on at the end of the operation. I tend to need to switch back and forth from auto generate to polygonal insertion and having to reset object snap every time.
We've been working with adding schedule tags in paper space for objects nested within an xref. The first time you do this however, the manual properties (it seems) do not update if the value of the manual property is changed back in the xref dwg. However, the Automatic properties do seem to update.
When we initially found this we past it off as a limitation. However, one of our users was experimenting and found that the first time you tag the xref resident object... the schedule tag reads the correct manual properties value. However, If you remove the property set from the schedule tag... then the manual property will update correctly showing the current value as it is back in the xref dwg even if it is changed.
This makes complete sense as the manual property set data can be edited from either the tag or the object or from the schedule... IF THE TAG and the object are resident in the same drawing file - in this case you DO NOT want to delete the property set from the tag... if you do this the property set is also removed from the object. However, when tagging objects nested within an xref, then you need to remove the property set from the tag... THEN the manual property will update correctly.
I am trying to create a property definition that will display the elevation of a space object. I looked through the automatic properties and did not find anything that looked like the elevation.
I have tried the following but was unable to achieve any success.
RESULT="--" On Error Resume Next Set AcadApp = GetObject(, "AutoCAD.Application") Set Obj = AcadApp.Activedocument.Objectidtoobject("[ObjectID]") RESULT = Obj.elevation
That formula does work if i swap elevation with say height, width, length or any of the properties found in the automatic property list that are a single word. I know the elevation is there I just don't know how to access it.
I successfully created multiple hatch regions in a sketch on a section view in a drawing. I want to change or delete one of the hatch regions, but am unsuccessful. I clicked on Fill/Hatch Region and then selected the region that already has a hatch defined, but the dialog box does not show that these is a hatch defined.
If I click the hatch button it creates another hatch over the top of the current one and does not allow the current one to be deleted or changed. Of the four regions in my sketch, one works and the other three do not.
Using Inventor 2013 and having issues with the fill/hatch region feature. I inserted my company logo on our custom border i am making and need to fill the logo in with colors to match our autocad verison borders. I go to click on fill/hatch region button and it doesnt do nothing and wont let me do nothing.
I have a solid hatch that is in model space (actually in an xref in model space). When I use multileaders (in paper space) and point into the hatched area, that part of the multileader becomes hidden. As if it was a layering or object arrangement issue.
I can select mtext in paper space to edit it. I can create a new text object and select it but I am unable to select existing mtext objects. Audit and recover does not eliminate it. Everything is at 0 elevation. The only to select it is to write block the entire drawing out. That gets sort of inconvenient. Is there a variable that is getting set like the imageframe variables that prevents me from select the text?
I apply hatching vertical & horizontal line in model space when i turn to paper space it's look different, all hatch line direction become some funny angle........ I also redo a new viewport when open again the file back to funny angle.
I have an issue with a file when I plot only. The black 'mask' appears only after plotting. It does not show up in print preview.
There are no frozen layers or switched off through viewports. When I open the viewport on a new paperspace page it follows me in. I can only assume there is an underlying mask in model space or paperspace.
How to locate the 'starting point' for hatch patterns and filled regions? I am laying the hatch in a bathroom and I want the pattern (which is representing tile) to start in a particular corner.
When creating text in model space it appears both mirrored and rotated 90 degrees to the horizontal. However, when I create text in paper space it is fine. I have tried looking at the properties for the text but although I can find a place to rotate the text back to the horizontal it is still mirrored and therefore unreadable.
When I copy paste stuff from one document to another this also occurs.
This is a cropped corner of an illustration I removed from its opaque background and placed on a transparent background. The north and west borders show the whilte line that forms whenever I place objects on a transparent background. The south and east borders are the cropped edges -- they are clean and make the trasition from object to background color without that white line. With some objects, it's possible to use the Plygonal Lasso Tool, for instance, and trim that object away from the background. With portraits or irregularly shaped objects, though, it's necessary to use the Magic Wand or other means to trim the background away from the object, which results in that unwanted white line. Defringing, Removing White Matte, Anti-aliasing, trying to predict what color you'll lay the silhouette on and working in that color, and on and on. It seems as though Photoshop would be relied upon heavily by professionals who need to place objects on top of one another without intrusion.
after discovering zones and the space evaluation tool I wonder whether it is possible to customise the XLS output further by also reading out information from a property set attached to the space?
The office standard is to have a property set attached to each space that defines a room number (which is the level ID plus a number, say G-01), the area and the space name.
We used to simply schedule the areas with a schedule table. That only gives us net rooms, no subtotals per department (or say per flat) and no grandtotal. So we got as far as using zones grouping the spaces in each flat.
Now I need an area schedule XLT template that also displays the room number from the space's property set and the schedule grouped in a fashion that I get subtotals per flat (=my zones) in another column and a grandtotal.Playing with the Space evaluation tool I seem to only ever get Room/ zone names and their areas.
is there a way to COPY objects from model space to paper space? CHSPACE only "cuts" geometry. I need the same geometry stacked in both model space and paper space.
Im working on a student version of Architectural CAD 2012 i drew a floor plan and used AEC Dimensions on my model space but when i switch over to work space they don't show up. I tried matching properties and switching between paper and model but so far no luck.
Somehow the two tabs which were located at the bottom of the screen in my version of Autocad 2008 have dissapeared. I used them extensively and would like to get them back. I've tried the solutions provided in previous answers without success. The menus which are supposed to appear don't.
How do I make a certain object in a color picture and make just that object black and white? Or even vice versa? Take the the object of a black and white pic and have it in it's original color?
I am trying to draw some red signs with white lettering, but my text is always black in paper space whether I set the text layer color to black or white. How do I make a white layer in paper space?
I have a color picture and I wanted to change it to black and white but I want to keep a necklase that im wearing the same color (green). How can I turn my picture into black and white without changing the color of my necklase?
When I export RAW files, specifying that I want the output to be in sRGB color space the resulting files have the Adobe RGB color space. The same is true if I specify I want them in ProPhoto. Is this a bug? I have done it successfully in other versions of Lightroom, but not in 4.3.
