Jun 16, 2012Where can i find the "plug ins" i have added to the autocad in the classic screen, (and their symbols also)?
(In the other screens there is a special "tab" named "plug- ins").

There are different results when executing polar array using the 'classic' method and the array using ACAD's standard array. I tend to revert back to the classic array as I find this more user friendly and tend to use this one over the standard ACAD array. Which methods are preferred by other CAD users ? I was wondering if any other CAD users prefer any other 'classic' functions over the standard ones. I sometimes use 'classiclayer' as well because of a display issue, not sure if this is a common bug that other users have found too ?
View 8 Replies View RelatedI use classic interface in Autocad. After minor modifications in menu of 2014 version, window list disappeared from menu bar. See picture below:
How it can be inserted here?
I found that when I open the autocad using Classic view, the icon are dimmed as attache file, however, when I open it in annotation view, it is normal.

View 3 Replies View RelatedIs there a way to switch to the classic tray view in AutoCAD 2014? What I am referring to as "classic" was the tray that had the more rectangular icons with words in them as opposed to graphics. The buttons would highlight if active. To ensure I am clear on what I am referring to as the "tray": the new tray has smaller, square icons, shown below.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI'm here with 2013 SP2 64 bit Build 200 and two screens. Left screen is graphics area, Browser is on the left of right screen. Graphics is ATI Fire Pro V7800 with driver 9.3.3.3000.
In video (zipped MP4) you see a cutout of both screens, think of screens changing at the left of the browser.
Now, in many cases, after doing an operation, the browser is jumping back to the middle of my graphics in the left screen.
i having a fully working ribbon in ACAD2013. it is a registered dll that is originally coded in vb.net.
unfortunatley the functionality is only visible at the drafting & annotation workspace but is desperatly needed in classic workspace mode.
for hours i am trying to find a way to make my functionality working in classic workspace too.
is it possible to extend the classic workspace in acad2013 with my functions? if so, how, or where can i get more detailed information to solve my task.
My welcome screen is blank.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI had a valuable program that used the screen menu to insert blocks to aid in creation of architectural details. Now that the screen menu is no longer supported, is there anyway to run a script type of menu that points to various other menus?
I checked the only reference to screen menus. However, there was no reference to screen menus in either comment.
After just installing 2013, I decided to change the screen appearance and move the command line into its traditional area at the bottom - I over dragged and it disappeared off the screen. I have tried CTRL+9 and using the Ribbon Commands and nothing seems to work.
I have looked at the Preferences and cannot find anything to indicate the commandline or how to customize with the exception of colour and text colour!! Where it has gone and how do I get it back?
We are in the process of upgrading from AutoCAD 2010 to 2013. The print screen key on the keyboard will not work in the 2013 version (using Snagit to capture the screen image). Changing the hot key (in Snagit) works but I'm trying to keep the same workflow for my 300 plus Users.
View 2 Replies View RelatedMy command line is partially off the screen as shown in the attachments below. It started doing this after a reboot this morning. I can't drag it, select it, or find a way to move it in any way. I tried changing the resolution of my monitor thinking it might "bump" it back on the screen. I'm probably missing something easy but I can't seem to make any difference. Is there a command to prevent the floating option?

Is there a way that AutoCAD create text with the coordinates that I can capture with any (ID for example) command?
I have a dual screen set up. I left work last night with no problems. I fired up my PC this morning and all of a sudden all of my dialog boxes appear on my second screen. I have disconnected the second screen and all the boxes return to normal. Plug the second screen back in and the dialog boxes go back to the second screen.
View 5 Replies View RelatedNoticed the 2013 text screen? Noticed how it's not showing its scroll-bar(s) ... well that's only 50% true. The vertical is only hidden - move the mouse over it and it appears.
But what happens if you want to read something which is too long for a line? Say you've listed the DXF codes of something by using the lisp entget function?
Previously if the line was too long it would get wrapped (wrapped to short yes, but at least readable). Now that line does not wrap in the text screen, but there's also no horizontal scroll bar so you can "pan" right to see the rest of the line. The only place I can see that is in the command palette.
I have just installed Autocad 2007. The screen display is the 3-D screen, even though I select the Autocad Classic display. How do I get to make the selection work to what I want displayed?
View 3 Replies View RelatedThe user has Autocad 2014 64 bit Service Pack 1 running over Windows 7 Pro. Everything is working fine until she receives .dwg files from a supplier that uses Autocad 2010. When she opens those files, the screen is empty, no crash/freeze, no error message, just a black background. The other opened files are still there in the background.
The only way she can open the file is by asking a colleague, also running Autocad 2010, to open the file and convert it using the WBLOCK command. After the conversion the Autocad 2014 user can open the file without issues.
Now that I know how to get my screen menu to appear, I would like to edit the standard screen menu to one I replaced it with in previous versions. In the past, I would edit Acad.mns or Acad.mnu and replace the screen menu section with my new screen menu.
Now Acad.mns and mnu don't exist and I presume I have to customize Acad.cuix, except I can't find any reference to screen menus in the cui editor to be able to customize the screen menu.
I loaded autocad R2013 and went into the .cui dialog box to look for the screen menu section. It used to be under the legacy portion but it's no longer there. I've been looking all around to try and find where it's at.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI recently gave my windows a factory restore (fresh start windows original copy), I had no issues with autodesk software before the windows fresh start (i use Revit and 3Dmax too), i even installed and used Autocad 2014 on my laptop before the restore and it ran just fine, problem is now after the windows restore Autocad crashes everytime i open it, installation was smooth and succesfull with no error warninings whatsoever; the problem comes when i start Autocad 2014 for the first time, the initialization window opens and starts loading the files but then (everytime) crashes and freezes my laptop forever, not even the task manager is posible to open
My Specs:
Laptop: Alienware M14x R2
Processor: intel i-7 @2.30 ghz
16 gb RAM
Graphics: Nvidia GeForce 650M 2GB
running on Windows 7 64-bit
after the restore i downloaded the latest drivers for my graphics card, so that shouldnt be the issue, i also switched the processing tu GPU only.
i already tried lots of solutions i saw on other posts, but none seems to suit my need, i tried the .NET framework thing, switching off the windows Aero theme, but the problem remains the same, it still freezes completely my laptop everytime i try to run Autocad 2014, i even tried installing Autocad 2013, Autocad 2011 and Revit 2014 but the issue is the same in all of them they freeze at startup without any pop up error warnings, just freezes.
I have used Microstation before and just used Autocad for 1 month.I am field surveyor and use Autocad for plotting stake out or other measurements. When I have to deliver a pdf drawning, there are 2 important things:
- It's have to be clear to see what I have done
- it's important to see the drawing I used to do job.
Making a new drawing with my measurements on it.To make it readable for the end user, I am using fading (transparency) on my referenced drawing. It is looking fine on the screen, but not on the plot.
On the plot all the colours are coming back to the original (before I change the transparency)I try to look on the plot style, but obviously it is not possible to change the settings for the referenced file, just for the all drawing.
What I am looking for is how to plot what I see on the screen (WYSIWYG)?I have looked for a solution on internet (can read english, danish & french) but I didn't find the solution yet!I would like to know how I can solve this problem?
I have to add, that I have several working sites with a lot of drawings, so I am looking for an easy/quick solution.
Just installed product design suite 2013 without issue, however when I try to run Inventor 2013 it hangs at the splash screen.
The only way to exit is to kill the Inventor process. Other applications with in the design suite run fine ACAD, Fusion etc.
I did read a post about a windows security update causing this, but I do not have the offending update loaded so it can't be this.
Windows 7 64 bit Dell Precision
I have a Alienware M17x with 8600 dual core processor (2.4 GHZ), 1G Nvidia 260M Graphic card, and 8G of RAM. These black outs in Autocad Architecture 2013 are random they just happen out of nowhere. Is it that I need a 2G graphic card instead of a 1G or what?

I'm new to AutoCad Map 2011. If I recall correctly from the last time I used a map product (3D 2006) there were map tools available from the drop down menu. I have set my workspace to map classic but cannot locate any map tools. I've tried entering the command "CUI" but cannot locate any map tools there either. I was most interested in coordinate systems, I read about the coordinate tracker in 2011 but I cannot locate that either.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI just installed Autocad Architecture 2013 only to learn that Autodesk once again is hard at work making our lives difficult. For some reason they seem to want us ALL to use the ribbon. The ribbon in my opinion is HORRIBLE. I MUCH prefer the classic workspace since I do not use many toolbars and I key in the vast majority of my commands. As such, I get rid of the ribbon because it takes up too much space considering the fact that I only use a handful of buttons from the ribbon. But Autodesk has thrown a bunch of obstacles in my way.
1. Type "ribbonclose" - this closes the ribbon.
2. Type "cui" - this bring up the Customize User Interface dialogue box.
3. Right click on workspaces. Enter a new name for your new workspace.
4. (optional) Right click on toolbars to make your own. Then drag and drop commands from below into your new toolbar. You may also notice that you no longer have toolbars, soooo..
5. Type "menuload" - things brings up the Load/Unload Customizations dialogue box.
6. Click "Browse".
7. Select the first file ending in ".cuix". Click "Open". Click "Load". If you get an error message don't worry.
8. Repeat step 7 for each and every file ending in ".cuix".
Now you have tool bars and menus. However, the Express menu may STILL not work.
9. Then visit this webpage:URL.... to get the Express menu working.
10. Close autocad. and re-open autocad.
11. Set up your screen the way you like it.
12. Either click on the workspace switching icon on the lower right portion of your screen or type "workspace" and select "Save Current As".
13. Save your workspace with whatever name you like.
