Is there a way to switch to the classic tray view in AutoCAD 2014? What I am referring to as "classic" was the tray that had the more rectangular icons with words in them as opposed to graphics. The buttons would highlight if active. To ensure I am clear on what I am referring to as the "tray": the new tray has smaller, square icons, shown below.

Where can i find the "plug ins" i have added to the autocad in the classic screen, (and their symbols also)?
(In the other screens there is a special "tab" named "plug- ins").
There are different results when executing polar array using the 'classic' method and the array using ACAD's standard array. I tend to revert back to the classic array as I find this more user friendly and tend to use this one over the standard ACAD array. Which methods are preferred by other CAD users ? I was wondering if any other CAD users prefer any other 'classic' functions over the standard ones. I sometimes use 'classiclayer' as well because of a display issue, not sure if this is a common bug that other users have found too ?

unfortunatley the functionality is only visible at the drafting & annotation workspace but is desperatly needed in classic workspace mode.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have been migrating dozens and dozens of .pat files from one version of AutoCAD to the next for many, many versions. Most recently in AutoCAD 2013 the .pat files were stored in the C:Program FilesAutodeskAutoCAD 2013SupportPatterns - worked fine. During the migration to 2014 I received an install error report stating that this subdirectory did not exist and could not be created. Alternately it stated that the new default path C:UsersUsernameAppDataRoamiongAutodesk|AutoCAD 2014R19.1enuSupport will be used instead.
At first I created the Patterns subdirectory where it could not be done automatically. No luck. Then I placed the Patterns subdirectory in C:UsersUsernameAppDataRoamiongAutodesk|AutoCAD 2014R19.1enuSupportPatterns and no luck.
Happens every year. Upgrade and spend half a day or more trying to get everything back to the way I had it. All I have is a couple small toolbars for commands that are several clicks deep in the ribbons and I want them "right there" all the time.
I thought Autodesk 360 might be a good tool for this. All it did was DOWNLOAD some old settings and destroy one of the toolbars I'd created. They really need an override in there to specify upload, download, overwrite or don't.
I'm trying to migrate (I guess that's the technical term) my settings from 2013 Mechanical to 2014 Mechanical. It's probably too late already, after 360 did its deal, but I really want to get this down so we don't go through it every year anymore.
I maintain that PTC had this part of it down Pro/ENGINEER. You had a config file that was editable plain text.

When in a drawing how do you switch between Imperial and Metric. It seems like it would be such a simple process? When I try to go to Options > User Preferences > Scale List Edit and change it, I then hit apply get back into options and it is switched back to Imperial ? I am basically trying to get this scale list format 1:10, 1:20, etc. instead of 1/4"=1'0", 1/2"=1'-0", etc.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI am using Illustrator Cs6 on windows and when I used to switch to outline view there used to be a crosshair mark showing the center of shapes and the same mark for stray points, and about a week ago those marks have disappeared. I checked the attributes window to make sure the center mark is on and its still not showing centers in outline mode. Did i accidentally change a setting i didnt know about? if so is there a fix? those center crosshairs sure were useful...
View 2 Replies View RelatedWhen working on images in Develop, Lightroom 5 is distorting them. For example, let's say I'm looking at an image in Library view (fig.1), then switch to Develop view (fig.2) — the image is suddenly compressed horizontally (or stretched vertically, however you choose to describe it).
At other times, images get distorted and rotated (fig.3). And at other times, images were appearing as though a sharpen filter had been applied with accented highlights — but this particular distortion doesn't seem to be happening anymore.
This does not happen to all images in the catalog. I'm running LR 5.2 on a 15" MBP with 16GB ram and a 1.2TB fusion drive.
I'm late on a deadline beause of this, and other local (NYC) experts, as well as Adobe phone support, are as stumpted as I am.

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy production team uses the Inventor View to view drawings once they are released from engineering. Sometimes they get printed so they can send a copy to our vendors. When ever they print from Inventor View 2014 the lines that are on the Visible Layer do not print. Also the lines in the titeblock are not very dark even though the "print all colors black" has been checked. It does not matter which printer or computer is used.

The problem I encounter is that Inventor crashes sometimes when I turn the realistic view mode on.
Also the rendering in realistic view mode is much slower than with Inventor 2013.
Are there some ray tracing options that I need to set up?

In the attached part factory, the two work planes are included in the members. They would need to be individually set invisible in each assembly view representation because the members only have the Master view representation.
