Design view representations in an iPart file are not included in the generated members after installing Inventor 2014 SP2 (and also in Update 1).
In the attached part factory, the two work planes are included in the members. They would need to be individually set invisible in each assembly view representation because the members only have the Master view representation.
Is there any tool in AutoCAD 2014 to obtain broken section view (generated from a base view in a layout?I have some very long section views and just can't find a way to shorten them...

-Build a model
-Create a representation
-Lock the representation
-Create a print from that representation
-Create a new representation and continue to work on the model
When i go back to the original print there is parts flying everywhere (see attached picture - hope you get a kick out of it)
Whenever I do a model update through an ilogic form my View representation changes from default to master and then i have to go and manually change them back to default also in my idw files in order to update the drawing files I have to go in and change the view representation from default to master click ok and close it then open view edit set it to default and close. Is this normal? Is there a setting so that my model views will stay on default?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI created view representations in my assembly, for example a column with k-polates and base plates, the column is a FG part, so now i create drawings and place views on that drawing, what i am askign for is I want to place the name of the view representation in my view label as a paramater so in the event i change my view names in my model they update in my drawing, this is important because i can create a cross referance to my 3D DWXF file views.

I have exposed the visibility (ClientFeature.Definition.ClientGraphicsCollection[1].Visible) to the user via a context menu option. Changing the visibility currently affects all view representations. Is there a way to associate the visibility with each design view representation?

View 6 Replies View RelatedI have a file with several Space Styles. As I progress on the drawings I would like to modify some of the display properties, primarily color of the fill. I would think I could set the overall appearance of each Space Style in one location and then adjust elements of various display representations. In my case have a red hatch for a space style but in one display rep it would be solid and in another it would be a diagonal hatch.
As I see it, if I wish to modify the color I have to go into each display rep and adjust the color of the base hatch and click on the Style Override check box. It seems like duplicative work. Is there another method of setting the color of each Space Style so that it shows the same in all display reps?
Where can I change the default gap value in the initial display of the Broken View dialog box. I use a french version and the default value is set somewhere to .250 po instead of .250 in. I want to set this value correctly in my template.

I am experincing an issue with display quality when using broken views in Inventor 2013 drawings.
After adding the break to any view in the drawing, part geometry and draft items in all views disappear/reappear upon zooming in and out on the drawing. The entities are still there (they can be highlited and selected), but they are not displayed.
If the view is deleted, or the break removed from the view, the problem goes away.
This seems to be related to the software because both myself and a co-worker are experiencing the same thing while using competely different hardware configurations.
When I enable the structured bom in an iAssembly that contains an iPart it is attempting to generate all members before it will enable the bom. This doesn't work as the iAssembly and iPart have 1800 variations each. Our servers cannot handle taking up that amount of space. I did the exact same procedure for a different part and the bom did not populate in this manner. The only difference is that the iProperties comment changes based on which part is selected.

I have a part that when I adjust its length additional fabs are needed. Now in my idw for this part I want to secure the break lines on the part at a exact distance from the end / each other to display these fabs. Is there a way to parameterize or set the break lines so they adapt to the change in length and move accordingly?

OK, I did a section view of a pretty complex assembly and when I tried to take a measurement, the section view just dissapeared and it went back to full view. One of the primary uses of using section views is to view / inspect / measure, that which cannot be seen in the normal full view.
Why did this break in 2013 ? and is there a patch to fix it ?
I can't create a split view of a section broken in. I've attached the screenshot.Is there a workaround to do it?
View 1 Replies View RelatedMy production team uses the Inventor View to view drawings once they are released from engineering. Sometimes they get printed so they can send a copy to our vendors. When ever they print from Inventor View 2014 the lines that are on the Visible Layer do not print. Also the lines in the titeblock are not very dark even though the "print all colors black" has been checked. It does not matter which printer or computer is used.

The problem I encounter is that Inventor crashes sometimes when I turn the realistic view mode on.
Also the rendering in realistic view mode is much slower than with Inventor 2013.
Are there some ray tracing options that I need to set up?
Direct connect is broken in maya 2014 osx. This now means that dwg, dxf and iges will not import. I have the latest Service pack 1 installed but still no go! This means the only work flow is to do it on a windows version of maya then open it in the Mac.

Through Edit view => Tab Model State and then it was possible to switch between different iPart members. So it was easy to make a copy in the Vault from only the dwg (from a iPart member) and then change the iPart member. Now in Inventor 2014 it is not possible anymore.

The realistic views have been working the whole time before but now it is not working. I click on it, and it just switches back to shaded view. If I click on shadows, or reflections I get the following message.
"One or more visual effects in use are not supported by the current system graphics hardware. We strongly recommend running the Diagnostics check in applications option for detailed information.Would you like to run hardware Diagnostics now?"

We just recently upgraded to Inventor Pro 2014. I have a user who has created a singled shaded view drawing. He want to print the drawing shaded. When he prints he gets a line drawing. It even appears like a line drawing when he previews it. He gets the same results when printing to Adobe. He said it printed properly in the morning yesterday and when he tried to print again in the afternoon it would not print shaded. He rebooted this morning and he still can't print a shaded drawing from Inventor. We looked at his printer settings and everything looks good. He is the only one in my department who is having this problem.

View 1 Replies View Related I'm trying to employ a technique that I've used with SolidWorks. I'm working on a project with several engineers doing design work on a large assembly. The way I've seen this handled in a SolidWorks shop is to create a master assembly with sketches on the principal planes that define envelopes for sub assemblies, interface dimensions, and so on. Each engineer can have the master assembly in their sub assembly, as a guide. Where I've used this before, it has worked with integrating the sub assemblies later on.
Here's the complication: There are several different "families" of the product that require different dimensions on the master sketches. What I had hoped to do in Inventor was use view representations or level of detail representation to control the visibility of these "families" of master sketches. When an engineer includes the master assembly in his sub assembly he could then easily turn on the "family" he wants to see. But it turns out that neither view representations nor level of detail representations influence the visibility of sketches. (Position representations don't, either.) Sketches are either visible or not visible, regardless of which representation you're in.
Is there some way I can control the visibility of sketches, in groups?
I have set up my assembly file so that it has the master and two other positions. When I switch from position one, to position two, it works fine. But when I go into inventor studio, and try to create an animation by using Pos Reps, it will not do anything.I do sometimes get an error saying that Excel is required. I do have the latest version of Excel installed on my machine.

(see attached image) although I do have it installed. I've put the hotfix on for excel, with no effect. I've repaired inventor and repaired excel no fix though.
