View 1 Replies View Relatedi having a fully working ribbon in ACAD2013. it is a registered dll that is originally coded in vb.net.
unfortunatley the functionality is only visible at the drafting & annotation workspace but is desperatly needed in classic workspace mode.
for hours i am trying to find a way to make my functionality working in classic workspace too.
is it possible to extend the classic workspace in acad2013 with my functions? if so, how, or where can i get more detailed information to solve my task.
How to add the Autocad Classic option into my workspace pulldown. I only have Architecture as an option and I can't get the traditional tool bar display.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI just installed Autocad Architecture 2013 only to learn that Autodesk once again is hard at work making our lives difficult. For some reason they seem to want us ALL to use the ribbon. The ribbon in my opinion is HORRIBLE. I MUCH prefer the classic workspace since I do not use many toolbars and I key in the vast majority of my commands. As such, I get rid of the ribbon because it takes up too much space considering the fact that I only use a handful of buttons from the ribbon. But Autodesk has thrown a bunch of obstacles in my way.
1. Type "ribbonclose" - this closes the ribbon.
2. Type "cui" - this bring up the Customize User Interface dialogue box.
3. Right click on workspaces. Enter a new name for your new workspace.
4. (optional) Right click on toolbars to make your own. Then drag and drop commands from below into your new toolbar. You may also notice that you no longer have toolbars, soooo..
5. Type "menuload" - things brings up the Load/Unload Customizations dialogue box.
6. Click "Browse".
7. Select the first file ending in ".cuix". Click "Open". Click "Load". If you get an error message don't worry.
8. Repeat step 7 for each and every file ending in ".cuix".
Now you have tool bars and menus. However, the Express menu may STILL not work.
9. Then visit this webpage:URL.... to get the Express menu working.
10. Close autocad. and re-open autocad.
11. Set up your screen the way you like it.
12. Either click on the workspace switching icon on the lower right portion of your screen or type "workspace" and select "Save Current As".
13. Save your workspace with whatever name you like.
AutoCad 2012 and 13- PROJECT NAVIGATOR or project browser disappears in Classic view.
We are running 2012 and like the look of the older versions. We are using the Autocad Classic workspace, BUT the Project Browser and all that jazz is missing. Where or how do i get it back?

Have a problem with door numbering and xref's.
Drawings are set up with similar insertion points at 0,0,0.
Basement and 1st floor in scope of project. Drawings are xrefed into one another but they are overlay NOT attached.
Smart room spaces, room names, doors and door tags have been inserted into both plans for each room.
In the individual xref drawings, the door tag number coinsides with the room number as it should.
An automated door schedule has been produced and it works well. All room numbers are correct.
When xrefing the 1st floor and basement floor into the same sheet file for a CD document, the door tags on the basement doors, B101.1, B102.1, etc. are taking on the numbers of the first floor area just above it, 137.1, 137.2, etc.. This only occurs in the sheet file not the drawing base files.
When I unload xrefs of both the 1st and Basement drawings in the sheet file....save...close the drawing....reopen....then reload the basement xref only....the tags on the doors in question cannot find the correct number of the room. (message "space not found is displayed")
Then, when I reload the the 1st floor in the same sheet drawing and reload the basement floor again, the door numbers on the basement plan take the 100 series room number from the space above.
The Room name and number tag does not change in the xref, only the door tag.
When I detach both files from the sheet and xref the basement file only....the doors show up correctly. Then when I insert the 1st floor, the door numbers get screwed up again.
This has happened on another project in this office but in that situation 2 different floor plans were NOT inserted into one sheet. In that matter, we had to detach the xref and then load again in order for the door numbers to come out corrent.
After the drawing was saved, closed, and then reopened the door number were again wrong and picking up the door numbers from above or below.
Is this a bug in ACAD 2011? Is there a toggle switch somewhere that will fix the issue?
Using blocks established and populated while in 2008 ACAD. Does this matter?
I move the xref in the sheet file so they don't align. I have move them 500' away from one another. This did not solve my problem.
Can I arrange the ribbon and or quick access tool bar command drop down so that when I select a tool it stays in the top position rather then having to pick the drop down then scroll down and pick the tool.
So what ever tool I use stays in the top of the list. I'm coming from adt04 so have no experience with the new cui interface.
In AutoCAD Architecture 2011, some of the tabs are missing. One is the Insert tab. So I can not insert an xref.
how to regenerate the ribbon...if that is what I need to do.
How do I add the ribbon to 2010? I just have pull downs and tool bars.
View 4 Replies View RelatedIs there a way to add to the ribbon panel? I want to add a tool bar so it shows as a panel instead of a tool bar. I tried to customize it but I think I'm missing a step. I went to CUI and selected the default workspace, went to the toolbar area and added the toolbar to the ribbon panel. I then went the the right side of the CUI and hit customization, but there's nothing to select on either the right side or left side that would add the toolbar panel.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm using a disto laser with my tablet running "AutoCad Architecture". The laser can be set to fire using a combination of Alt, Shift or Control keys plus a number or letter. I arbitrarily set it up as "Alt 1". My old tablet had a mechanical button that I easily assigned this function. For my new setup, I need this button on the ribbon but I can't figure out what Macro text format is the same as pressing "Alt 1".

I just want the default ribbon. I was able to do this on a previous version but now I forget how. Version upgrades do not bode well for old people.

"This Ribbon does not have any tabs or panels currently loaded."
It was there yesterday until I quit ACA, where did it go?
Did Autodesk install a virus that deletes the Ribbon after a predefined number of uses? It doesn't make any difference which workspace is invoked it is not there. In Document it is just completely gone and typing ribbon at the command line brings up the "This Ribbon..." as is the case in all the other workspaces. How does this happen?
I am wondering why the most basic tools like MTEXT and DIM in the Ribbon don't have Layer Key options? Or am I missing something? I have the annotation content customized with layer keys and annotation scale on the tool pallets but obviously the "same" tool is right there on the Ribbon as well. Problem is that it is not the same tool and the one on the Ribbon is not configurable, like say with a simple Layer Key option under Properties.
I found the article by Koch about how to copy your tools on your pallets to the Ribbon but I don't understand why I have to do more and more set-up work with every new version. Is it really that bizarre to think that people might want dims to come in on A-ANNO_DIMS layer and text to come in on A-ANNO_TEXT layer?
The AEC content seems to find the Layer Keys. How unexpected that a wall would come in on A-WALL layer! It's almost like the people who made the program understand what it is used for.
I just installed AutoCad architecture 2013 onto Window 7, and lots of the ribbon icons are coming in as questins marks. I attached a picture of the ribbon.

View 4 Replies View RelatedWe're transitioning from ACA2012 to ACA2014. I'm also trying to get away from putting my blocks in DesignCenter and having our users insert Annotation (tags) from the Ribbon bar.
When I insert our door tag (or any schedule tag) from the ribbon bar, it is automatically changing the text style to the current text style. I'd rather it just use the style built into the tag. I know that can be controlled in the Designcenter content (right-click) - but how do I change that from the ribbon bar?
I use Autcad Architecure 2010 on my computer.
After I created or made a multiline text, the ribbon in autocad is getting all blurry. None of the icons in the ribbon will work (see attached picture).
I always have to shut down Autocad and restart it to continue my work.
I updated to Arch. 13 and some of my content (mainly casework) was not working properly, so I deleted it and decided to just re-download the files. Insert ribbon > Seek search bar leaves me with a blank page. I've tried queries: "casework" "ceiling fan" "furnace" "family" "lighting" and "wall."
I've tried getting through via Revit Architecture as well.
I'm in the middle of a design concept rendering for a client... so this caught me completely off-guard.

I am trying to customize Autocad 2012 ribbon tab. I can't seem to find how to mimic the small arrow that appears in several of the standard menus. For example, in the 3D Solids - Home Tab, the second panel from the left is "3D Solids Home - Mesh" It has a small arrow in the corner that opens up a preferences dialogue box.
How can I add that arrow to a custom panel with that little arrow so that I can add my command to it?
Where are the bits of the Ribbon API to add a slide out to a ribbon panel?
Autodesk.Windows.RibbonControl ribbonControl = Autodesk.Windows.ComponentManager.Ribbon; RibbonTab Tab = new RibbonTab(); ribbonControl.Tabs.Add(Tab); // create Ribbon panels Autodesk.Windows.RibbonPanelSource panel1Panel = new RibbonPanelSource(); panel1Panel.Title = "Panel1"; RibbonPanel Panel1 = new RibbonPanel(); Panel1.Source = panel1Panel; Tab.Panels.Add(Panel1);
I saw some source that hinted you could use panel1Panel.AddSlideout() but in the search I do not see any Ribbon API that allows for any slideout functionality?Do you *have* to use the CUI API for this?
