We are in the process of upgrading from AutoCAD 2010 to 2013. The print screen key on the keyboard will not work in the 2013 version (using Snagit to capture the screen image). Changing the hot key (in Snagit) works but I'm trying to keep the same workflow for my 300 plus Users.
View 2 RepliesON 3 different computers in my classroom, the cursor quits working in the graphics screen. You c an still click on any of the toolbars, palettes etc, type on the keyboard, but there is no response in the graphics screen area. In fact the crosshairs change to the "windows" arrow when the cursor is in the graphics area. I have had to re-install the whole system. I thought maybe is was a graphics crad/ driver issue but this is only occuring in AutoCAD 2013, I have not have any trouble in Revit, or other graphics based software that we use. I have video cards/drivers that are certified by autodesk. I have checked them for updates, etc. I have tried turning of the anit-virse stuff, nothing works except re-installing the whole system. It is random, I have 30 computers and so far 3 of them have done this. They are all configured the same.

Our computer's are set up by an outside source and I believe they did not migrate anything correctly or did something incorrectly. My issue specifically is anything to do with rendering and materials displaying is not working. I just want to make sure ACAD 2013 is looking at all the standard file locations along with our customization files. This is happening on 2 computers that have 2013 installed, all the rest are still using 2012 and this works fine. I tried exporting that profile, but still nothing works for rendering.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm here with 2013 SP2 64 bit Build 200 and two screens. Left screen is graphics area, Browser is on the left of right screen. Graphics is ATI Fire Pro V7800 with driver 9.3.3.3000.
In video (zipped MP4) you see a cutout of both screens, think of screens changing at the left of the browser.
Now, in many cases, after doing an operation, the browser is jumping back to the middle of my graphics in the left screen.
I cannot seem to reset the print template screen while in the " Print " module. It has adopted the smallest pic size with three times the normal border. I wish to reset to full screen in print module
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have this heavy issue, i can't send to back a line, an object or a hatch under other lines. In 2012 i used this feature a lot but in 2013 it's not working very much, maybe 1 time out of 10 and i absolutely can't say why.
HPDRAWORDER = 1 seems to work with a new hatch.. but i can't redraw everything.
Let's say i put an entire floor plan into block then draw over it. (I don't want to start a Xref discussion please) i can't send the entire bloc to the back.I used to do that with 2012, 2008, 2007.. but it's 2013 it's not working, is there a way to correct that?
Okay. So our designer is using autocad 2013. He is using a pc and he is sending me the files (i'm on a mac) and the thinest lines do not show or print. But, they print/show on a pc! I need to be able to print these. I've searched the web and found nothing.

Working in AutoCAD 2010. Recently I've started to notice that the dimensions on my print are not exactly aligned with the model/object. Only the dimensions seem to be shifted slightly in two directions (~1mm?). On screen, everything looks great.
Typically, I design 3d parts (model tab), then in the layout tab set up viewports (mview), and dimension in paper space...
Is there some paperspace offset I may have inadvertently invoked?
I Have several PC's with 2011..On some machines the layer transparency is not working anymore on screen.90% transparency red is normally light pink but on some machines with the same drawing and the same settings it is 100% full red.A few day's ago there was no problem on those pc's

How to retrieve the width of the (view) working screen. Is there any variables or any methods.
"VIEWSIZE" returns the height of the view.
AutoCAD 2012. When printing a PDF file wipeouts were working correctly. But then we replaced the machines with W7-64bit machines and started using AC2013. Now the wipeouts are not wiping out the background objects when you print using the "DWG to PDF.pc3" plotter.
You can get around it by using the "Print As Image" check box in Adobe, but the end user of the file may not be aware of this fix and then his pdf prints do not read correctly.
I've copied the DWG to PDF .pc3 and .pmp files from AC2012 to AC2013, but that didn't fix the issue.
I have this video on the comp., and I want to copy a picture of a video from the video. So I press the print screen button and it copys the whole window but it doesnt copy the video.

I tried on someone else's computer using PS 5.5 and pressing ALT+Printscreen does only the required pallet.
My welcome screen is blank.

I checked the only reference to screen menus. However, there was no reference to screen menus in either comment.
Just installed 2012 from 2000. Plot style table (file copied from old installation) has all colors set to grayscale=off but is printing with grayscale.

I've used PS off and on for a few years. Everytime I upgraded; no problem output quality is the same. But since CS6 I have a problem between my PC and print and display on other PCs. The images on my PC look excellent, vibrant with good colour balance. But if I open them on my laptop or look at them on someone else's machine the contrast is very dark, with a reddish tone. It's the same results with printing. Consequently I'm working in the dark trying to second guess what final images will look like.
I'm not sure why and it's confined just to PS as everything seems calibrated correctly becuase any of my Illustrator, Premier or After Effects projects look as they should on my monitor as well within the tolarences expected on my laptop or anyone else's PC.
I am preparing some art for print which is being done by a professional printer. I want to be able to match my monitor display so that it accurately represents what will be printed by using the printer's drivers.

I've done some online research and have made some recommended settings chnages that are suppose to improve performance, but nothing is working for this particular issue.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a client who is requesting that their "image" be saved as a PNG at "715px X 915px at 72 dpi", and have it print with the text crisp and clear. I have tried to convince them to use a PDF instead to ensure that the print quality would be where they want it to be however they reject that idea.
1. They are requesting 72 dpi not ppi. There is a difference, one is screen one is print. You cant have both in my opinion. I have been using ppi, since that is the setting that illustrator and photoshop allows.
2. You also should not save anything for print at 72 ppi. That will not produce the best quality image regardless.
3. I have attempted several different ways to save this.
- I have saved it in illustrator as a png and mulitple resolutions.
- I have used my illustrator png and put in Photoshop and re saved it, after re sizing it. The dimensions in illustrator never seem to stay accurate.
- i have attempted to save it as a PDF and convert to PNG is acrobat.
None of these work. There is no issue getting it to look nice on screen, its the printing part that I am having an issue with. When I save it at anything higher then 72 it increases the dimensions. If I create it at anything higher then 72, the dimensions increase as well. I have not been able to keep it at 715px x 915 px and have it print clearly. They come back and tell me i need to decrease the size, or the text is too blurry.
How do I get this PNG to be 715px by 915px at a 72 ppi (or dpi) resolution look good on screen, and print with clear crisp text?
After just installing 2013, I decided to change the screen appearance and move the command line into its traditional area at the bottom - I over dragged and it disappeared off the screen. I have tried CTRL+9 and using the Ribbon Commands and nothing seems to work.
I have looked at the Preferences and cannot find anything to indicate the commandline or how to customize with the exception of colour and text colour!! Where it has gone and how do I get it back?
Where can i find the "plug ins" i have added to the autocad in the classic screen, (and their symbols also)?
(In the other screens there is a special "tab" named "plug- ins").
My command line is partially off the screen as shown in the attachments below. It started doing this after a reboot this morning. I can't drag it, select it, or find a way to move it in any way. I tried changing the resolution of my monitor thinking it might "bump" it back on the screen. I'm probably missing something easy but I can't seem to make any difference. Is there a command to prevent the floating option?

I have a dual screen set up. I left work last night with no problems. I fired up my PC this morning and all of a sudden all of my dialog boxes appear on my second screen. I have disconnected the second screen and all the boxes return to normal. Plug the second screen back in and the dialog boxes go back to the second screen.
