My company uses a menu system to organize standard symbols. The problem is that every time I insert one of these symbols I have to reset my Osnap settings because it clears all the check boxes.
Does AutoCAD LT support feature like this?! : If I have the same objects copied in different locations in design and I need to change something in this object! Is it possible that I modify the original or one of the objects and all other(copies of the one I modify) objects change accordingly?!
I've recently (this morning) come into the issue of the old plot printers being saved in CAD files. I've found a number of tutorials online about adding new pages, and setting the default plotter to "none" via DWGTruView, but these are just shy of what I'm looking for.
Is there any way to tell AutoCad 2013 that if the current/default plotter is "None" to set it to a certain printer? I have about a thousand CAD files that need this change made on them, so obviously a more automated approach would be greatly appriciated. Currently the entire set of them has has their Plotters set to "None", and a custom Page Setup configured.
When ever I try to modify a hatch from a previous version I get a fatal error message and the program shuts down. I have opened the same files in 2012 and have no problem changing the hatch patterns.
The tube is a part of something bigger but this particular part is confusing me. When I want to change Distance 4 (in block editor you will see) and the tube diameter has change (something impossible in real world ). I have try to use constrains in block editor - for now without any succes.
tube_block2.dwg
P.S. I have tryied mline, it works, but I wonder if it works without mline (I don't like them).
A user is having problems when using the copy command in AutoCAD 2013.
When they select objects, its not reporting on the commandline how many objects its found or keeping a running total of objects selected. Not even any duplications...
I've tested it on my machine but i cannot replicate the issue and have never come across this before!
I'm working on a design for an Outdoor Slat Chair and when I try to constrain the slats to the side of chair (3/4" extrude) they end up constrining off in mid air. I believe they are constraining to the center points of the arcs and fillets used to create the chair sides. Does this make any sense and if so, how do I get around this issue?
okay, so i have a dynamic block. I am able to stretch it how i want BUT, the moment i add a text attribute to it, my block dissapears. this does not always happen, although i do the exact smae thing every time. what can i do to avoid the lock being deleted/hidden when i add a text attribute to it?
by the way, i am trying to stretch the text attributes with the block (or move, which ever choice of words you use)
I created a associative and annotative hatch for a group of objects. It displays fine and the area measures fine. When I switch the annotative scale in the lower right for the whole drawing, portions of the hatch dissapear from the boundary objects - both visually and from the area in properties, When I switch back to original annotative scale, that area is still no longer there. In essense, parts of the hatch get deleted.
Running C3d 2012 here, but haven't used prior versions. I'm using fieldbooks to import survey data. If there is an error of some kind and I "Re-import event" for the fieldbook, then the occupied points from the field book are deleted out of the survey database and I get the resulting error of "point invalid" during the import. My fix is to go into my control drawing and import the control points from the drawing into the survey database then run the "re-import" again.
The firm at which I am currently consulting uses AutoCAD 2014. My system at home has P&ID. I don't use the object/3d features -- it is just the version of AutoCAD that I wound up buying. (I think it was on special or something.) In any case, some of our drawing files have become too cumbersome to use, especially on the machines at the office, and I wonder if my P&ID is the culprit. The large files appear to have AEC objects that are bogging them down, but nobody has ADT, so we are unsure from where these objects are coming. They may be coming from the client, but I wonder if they are coming from my system. Does P&ID automatically create AEC objects and, if so, is there a way to keep it from doing that?
I am having problems to scale 2d objects I use the command scale but when it request a base point it said "extremely small scale factor ignored" I have to do this 5 or 6 times until the command works.
The other thing is that I can not do a 1 dimension scale in 2D.
Okay so im doing a coursework for university on autocad 2014 education version, at home i had done a vast amount of work on my laptop, went to university opened the file off the usb stick i have it saved on and done some more work to the coursework and saved it. Now that i try to open the file on my laptop some very few objects appear, all the layers are set to visible
Edit - each time i re-open the file some different random objects become visible while otheres dissapear.
There is a problem with photoshop cc 14.1 and it hasn't fixed on 14.1.1. when i press F5 for the brush panel it delete layers. starts when you have more then 1 layer. you have to fix this i'm pressing it alot while i'm working and it just deleting my work and by the time i notice it's too late
When I type in the command "SC" for scaling the object, it'll asks me to specify base point then I can enter what scale I want it to be, such as 2 times or 0.5 for half sacle.
with the new 2013 version, sometimes it'll exit the command if I select the insertion point of the block or if the object is at the 0,0,0 location of the drawing. it'll also give a message of "the scaling factor is too small". But I haven't enter what scale I want to scale the object yet.
I have an array of all the same block with a few attributes. All attributes need just slightly different data (like incrementing numbers). It is extremely tedious to select the block, enter the data, cancel the selection and then select the next block. Is there an easy way to select all the blocks up front and then modify them one at a time by "cycling through the selection"? I'm specifically looking for a key-command that will de-select the current block and select the next one so I can stay in my properties window.
It's also worth mentioning that I'm on LT and there aren't enough blocks to make ATTOUT/IN worth it (or possible).
I have a lot of polylines that are all over a drawing from an outside source. Unfortunately the only unique properties about them are:
AREA = .14 sq in PERIMETER = 1-11/32"
Everything is on the same layer, color by layer and are at the same elevation.
Any way to select just these closed polylnes? I tried quickselect but the AREA option did not work (it wouldn't except just the .14 value), and there is no apparent PERIMETER value to select.
I just installed Acad v. 2014. I opened up an existing file, went to select a line, but noticed that the line does not highlight when I hover over it like my last version. How do I change the settings so that when I hover over an object, whether it be a line or a cross hatched area, it will highlight that object so I know the length or area of the object?
In regular conditions de elevation of every object that I creat is Z= 0
Lines starting and ending points are at this level, circle centers -and circles as objects- polylines etc.
How is possible to setup a different elevation for my objects?
Second case: Just in case I rotate my UCS and having my drawing doing all my objects in the plane X-Z therefore my coordinate Y as default for every object, could I set up the Y coordinate as required?
I'm trying to print a 2D drawing but I would like to add the 3D solid for viewing reference. I can't seem to "flip/rotate" my 3D solid to obtain an isometric view while looking at my 2D drawing from the top view.
how I can get both items to print on a single plot?
I am having duplicate objects in my files and I am wondering if they could be deleted. I think that I saw the option to select these kind of objects but now I need a remainder so I can get rid of the unnecessary stuff.
I am just getting back to autocad after using vectorworks for a few years. In vectorworks I was creating smart walls and plugging in windows, doors ect.
Are intelligent objects only used in Revit? Are people still offsetting wall lines and creating their own windows and doors and cutting out openings in Autocad theses days?
Showing annotation objects, I’m wondering how the two options “show annotation objects for current scale only” & “show annotation objects for all scales” introduce the same result (attached)! Despite the fact that these annotation objects are assigned to other scales (attached)
In these two cases, the only displayed annotation objects are those related to the current scale! Not all the annotation objects are displayed!
I am currently drawing a lithography mask in Autocad 2013 student version, where I created a lot of arrays. My problem is that I can't seem to align these structures. Some of them need to be aligned along the y-axis and some along the x-axis.
