Why is my command-bar limited to just 80 characters, when by the looks of it, it could easily fit 200 characters in before having to use a second line of text?
I often want to copy the filepath of the current .dwg and paste it into explorer, but it only pastes the first line of text!
See attached .jpg or text below
Your current drawing filepath is M:196493-CADOPV 3-Entwurf 5

I'm having problems printing (to an Epson 3800) on 17x25 paper (the image is 16x24 @ 240dpi). The image is not printing the full width of that it should. The odd thing is that it fills a different width every time I try to print it. I have tried multiple images and the same thing happens, so I do NOT think it is something specific to the image.
I suspect it is a problem with my printer. But after spending almost 45 minutes on the phone with Epson, they claim is must be a problem with PS (I'm using CS5 [12.0.4] on Windows Vista 64-bit, SP 2 machine). Epson support had me save the image as a JPG and print it from Windows native print util (and not PS), borderless on 17x25 paper and the printer was able to print the full width of the paper..I think it could still be a problem with their printer driver (and not a problem with the print head physically not being able to move that wide).
I've printed hundreds of prints this size with this version of CS5 on this exact same machine and printer and never had a problem bef.The "native" dimensions of the image are 2336 x 3504. I have resized it to 3864 x 5796 (which is 16.1 x 24.15 inches @ 240dpi). The first time I printed it (where this problem occurred), it printed about 12 inches wide; the 2nd time about 11 inches, the 3rd time about 13 inches. Note: the image is NOT being scaled, it is printing at full size but it just being cut off.
The weird thing is that if I size it to any of the other 4 sizes I regularly print at everything is fine (5 x 7.5 on 5.67 x 8.33 paper; 8 x 12 on 8.5 x 12.5 paper, 10 x 15 on 11 x 17 paper and 12 x 18 on 13 x 19 paper).
But the experiment the Epson tech had me do shows that the print head is not "blocked". Thus, I can only think that there is either: a) CS5 is someone putting an incorrect "bounding box" in bit stream it is sending to the printer or b) there is a problem with the Epson print driver in that it is interpreting the "bounding box" of the image incorrectly (but only when sized at 3864 x 5796)..I tried Adobe's Chat support and got nowhere and the hold time for phone support is over 2 hours..
I'm trying to create a full width photo layout using Photoshop or Fireworks CS3 and then end with Dreamwaver CS3 without the photo's being tall.
to create a flash site just like expo but at this point I would settle for a static photo with the same size being the same on each page.
Also I would like my site to be a liquid layout so the photo and everything else (text, Links etc) on the page flows correctly.
The size of the photo's they offer are
425 x 282 px (5.9" x 3.9") 849 x 565 px (11.8" x 7.8") 1698 x 1131 px (5.7" x 3.8")
I'm selecting horizontal photo's. I do not know how to match the same width, height and appearence as the websites I mentioned above.
If I choose a photo that fits the width then the length is too long. Also if I choose a large photo and have to crop it then most of the detail of the photo is lost.
I'm attempting to create a mock-up for my web in Fireworks CS3 and after search Adobe and www I came across the mock up should be 1004px which would end up being 1024 with vertical scroll bar and small margins.
I also have Photoshop & Flash CS3 but should mention (if you haven't already guess it by now) I am a rookie when it comes to creating a website.
I'm working for a client watermark his images. He has designed a watermark in PS CS6 that extends across the bottom of the image, the full width of the image. Like this:
Obviously, the images to be watermarked are all different widths and the watermark gets scaled up or down accordingly which is not the desired effect. On tall/thin images, the watermark is barely visible. Vice versa on wide or square images. I have tried many different widths of the watermark based on the widest and thinnest images. It works, but still not the desired effect for my client.
I've installed the Adobe Watermark Panel, but it seems that it wants to resize images with a width/height box on the right of the image quality and ppi boxes. (I might be reading that wrong though)
I've also tried several freeware programs. All work fine, but my client doesn't seem to think so.
So the question is, can I apply a watermark that doesn't get scaled? I know image height is a factor. I could write my own application to do it, but this seems like a re-inventing the wheel issue. I think the watermark should be scaled in height to a percentage of the image being watermarked and any excess width should be cut or truncated.
A colleague has asked me over the phone about a command line problem he was with 2013 LT in Classic Mode. His command line is reduced to about 20% of the full screen width. He has sent me a print screen and everything else looks ok. It is correctly parked in the space below the drawing area and above the status bar. It's left hand edge is correctly positioned but it is greatly reduced in width. The area to the right is the standard grey sort of colour as all the other blank areas. He tells me he can't drag the rh edge across the screen. We have tried dragging the whole command line onto the screen and then returning it to the parked position but to no effect. It was ok earlier in the day but obviously he has done something to break it.
I am wondering whether we can increase the width of a 2D sketch (e.g., from 3.0436 to 4.3175: 1.42 times); in the meantime, decrease its height (e.g., from 7.6091 to 6.625: 0.87 times) by the SCALE command.
I've tried it several times in different ways, but both width and height were gonna increase or decrease at the same time!
Floating command line width gets shorter and shorter everytime you open up AutoCAD? Civil 3D is real bad, I used it to shoot the above video. In regular AutoCAD, it still shrinks, but it shrinks a lot less.
Any tips for keeping it floating but making the width stay constant?
without reiterating a lot of what is said in this thread: [URL] ......
This happen outside the potential malware infection?
if you care to not click-through, the problem is that certain commands (not all of them) simply do not disply in the command line. so the MOVE command for example looks like this:
I have a drawing with mtext objects. I can not edit the the defined width through the properties palette. I think this is just some setting but I haven't been able to recall/ find it.
I have polylines and changed the width to 3/4" and now the Plines are not solid (filled like a hatch) anymore? They are splined as well. I must have changed a setting somewhere and did not know it. AutoCAD 2012.
I'm working with AutoCAD 2012 and I want to modify the width of the Layer Panel in the ribbon. I have layer names that are sometimes too long to see. Is there still a MNU or MNC or a file like that that I could edit and change the width of the panel in the ribbon?
Is there a way to constrain a few objects to an attribute text box width? I want the background box and line to stretch, based on what is typed in that attribute box.
I know that if I make the attribute, a multi-line attribute, I can add a backgroud mask. I don't want to take this route, because the mask boundary varies, depending on what character is typed. Also, there is a gap between the mask and line I would like to maintain.
I tried some constraint stuff, but all I seem to be able to constrain is the insertion point of the text box, and not the width grip...
I need to change the text line width in model space, not the overall text width or the text line width/weight in paper space. Our mold maker wants to measure that on screen and he wants to set the text line width to 0.060”, while the overall text width fixed.
For example, the text “REMOVE FROM BOAT” is 3” wide total from first letter R to last letter T and height 0.4”. That is easy to do. The hard part is that he wants the line in each letter to be 0.060” (1.5mm) wide. I practiced the true type text which is measurable in model space, but that is fixed with for a certain font with a certain size. I can change from one font to the other and get different thickness but cannot change the width freely to 1.5mm as requested.
Is there a way - or 3rd party app or lisp- to change the width of multiple Mtext objects all at once? I have several drawings where the width of all Mtext objects is 1.25, and I would like to change all of them to 1.
If I create one MTEXT object with the Background Mask set to Yes, then COPY it to several locations, and lastly edit the text for each one, does the width of the bounding box have to be adjusted for the width on each individual peice of MTEXt, or is there an "autofit" option?
The Background Masks are either too narrow or too wide on the copied items.
I am using AutoCAD 2011. I have been reading of similar problems with MText: I format the text in the drawing to my desired appearance and once I close and reopen the drawing, the column widths have compressed and muddled the text legibility. After reading other similar posts, I set MTEXTCOLUMN to 0 and changed all MText to "No Columns." MTEXTCOLUMN is still set to 0, but the other properties have reverted back to dynamic columns, so I am still having this problem. To check against this being a problem on my specific workstation, a coworker opened the file on his workstation and experienced the same text compression.
I've created a data link, linked to my autocad drawing, checked the box to keep excel formatting and update. Once i Import the table, the size of the table is NOTHING like what the size is in excel.
I have my page layout in excel to be 11 x 17 landscape. I have my table at about 9 1/4 x 15 landscape. Once I import it into autocad, it is now about 6 3/8 x 20 1/4. I don't know what i'm doing wrong but i need it to transfer just like it is in excel as far as the size of it.
Didn't their use to be a control for how PLines showed up at intersections when you increased the width? I can't remember where it was (dialog box, options, sys-var)?
working at new job with 2d but some how properties where i can change text width is replaced with 3D visual. how can i change this back to 2d properties?
I cannot get the Full-Screen Tracking Vector to display. I toggle the button in Options>Drafting and hit apply, but nothing. Help says that the Track path System Variable should be = 1, but when the button is on, the Variable = 0. If I set the Variable = 1, it shuts the button off.
I am drawing an icon holder for a church. However, I got this problem, where I need to change the width of a piece but keep the height. So scaling wouldn't work as scaling would change both the width and height.
I can't use trim and cut from the middle as there is a block in the middle of it. and if I do that it will cut the block in all location.
It used to be that when you selected a ployline onscreen you could set properties for the line in the properties dialog. With this version of ACAD, if the polyline is not of uniform width on all sections then the global width option is missing from the options dialog.
I know that you can now right click and go polyline/width but i suppose i have been doing this a certain way for so long and now i cant and its annoying.
