how to increase width on command panel by column?

I am wondering whether we can increase the width of a 2D sketch (e.g., from 3.0436 to 4.3175: 1.42 times); in the meantime, decrease its height (e.g., from 7.6091 to 6.625: 0.87 times) by the SCALE command.
I've tried it several times in different ways, but both width and height were gonna increase or decrease at the same time!
How does one set the text column width accurately?
Snap to grid does not work and there is no coordinates available for setting or am I missing something again.
Any way to make Acad C3D hold the value for MTEXTCOLUMN = 0? I am having issues with it resetting my column width to 0, even after I have formatted all the Mtext to read how I want it shown. Once I close a drawing and open it again, the formatting changes that I have previously set return to "dynamic" and column width = 0. I just want to turn off the dynamic setting so it stops messing up the formatting, but I can't get it to retain the dynamic setting. Currently running C3D 2012.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a picture in png format which contains some waveforms. I want to increase the thickness of the waveforms.
One way could be to draw thicker lines on the waveforms in Window's paintbrush but that is very time consuming and cumbersome process.
Can it be done using GIMP? I am attaching the part of the picture which has two waveforms. For the sake of illustration, the thickness can be made double of the existing one.

I am using AutoCAD 2011. I have been reading of similar problems with MText: I format the text in the drawing to my desired appearance and once I close and reopen the drawing, the column widths have compressed and muddled the text legibility. After reading other similar posts, I set MTEXTCOLUMN to 0 and changed all MText to "No Columns." MTEXTCOLUMN is still set to 0, but the other properties have reverted back to dynamic columns, so I am still having this problem. To check against this being a problem on my specific workstation, a coworker opened the file on his workstation and experienced the same text compression.

am I missing something obvious in the menus? Or is this a limitation with inventor.

View 4 Replies View RelatedWhen editing the properties for the title block on each sheet of my drawing, I've become rather annoyed with the default column width of the Value column. It always opens to the same width no matter how many times I change it. Every time I edit something in the title block, I have to resize this column to see everything I'm editing.
Any way to change the default width it opens at?

I use a style library. Have it in a read-only mode in the ipj file. My drawing created a new template with a rev table with required columns.
Now, I create a new drawing file and choose this template. add few views, insert a rev table. The rev table columns headings are the same as in the template. But the column widths aren't same as in the template.
I use manage->update. It warns me that the drawing would be matched as per the style library. I agree & OK.
No use, the columns are not same size? Though the style is read only from the drawing, I go to open the style editor to check the column widths. They are different from the template.
Several times, we generate a drawing, and the text widths in the columns vary greatly. Some have text that is ten characters long, and others have thirty-plus characters.
Is there a way to be able to select the table (or perform the command to all tables in the current layout) and have each of the columns expand to the appropriate width, that depends on the longest string of text in that column, for each column. The problem I see, is that some tables have two columns, some have six, and of course other with any number in between. The same is also true for the amount of rows.
n CS3 I could change the size of thumbnails to be large, but in CS5 it only allows me to do that from the upper bar (left side top). I can barely see the brush imags on the palette (right side). How do I change them also? Here are the two screenshots showing how dramatically different the sizes are. In CS3 I could adjust them with the down arrow on the palette, but that option is not available on CS5. (See 3rd and 4th screenshot of cs3 versus cs5.) CS3 has "large thumbnail option).
View 1 Replies View RelatedI've been having this issue happen repeatedly, but not consistently. In a new file, I adjust the width of an mtext box so that the text wraps into multiple lines. When I next open the file, all mtext boxes are back at a wider width so that the text is all on one line. The start of the text is also usually in a different location. This was happening on 2011/XP and now on 2012/Windows7.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI am using AutoCAD 2013 - Educational Version, and I want to convert my linework into a column grid. For some reason the COLUMNGRIDADD command is not being recognized by the program. When I type it in the command line, it just says Unknown Command.
Additionally, my Build Panel is missing from the ribbon, which is the other source for the column grid tools. I tried to reload or change the CUI, but so far this has not been successful.

A colleague has asked me over the phone about a command line problem he was with 2013 LT in Classic Mode.His command line is reduced to about 20% of the full screen width. He has sent me a print screen and everything else looks ok. It is correctly parked in the space below the drawing area and above the status bar. It's left hand edge is correctly positioned but it is greatly reduced in width. The area to the right is the standard grey sort of colour as all the other blank areas.He tells me he can't drag the rh edge across the screen.We have tried dragging the whole command line onto the screen and then returning it to the parked position but to no effect.It was ok earlier in the day but obviously he has done something to break it.
View 3 Replies View RelatedMy workstation at work has two monitors and my laptop is docked. I have all of my toolbars open on the second screen so that I maximize my workspace. When I go home to work, however, I work directly on my laptop. When I do this, I lose my Command Panel and can't bring it back. I've tried resetting the UI, as well as checking/unchecking the "command panel" under "customize". When I leave today, I will replace everything on the main screen and make sure that I check the option to save my UI when I close out. BUT - there certainly must be a way to find your command panel or other toolbars if they get lost on your phantom monitor?

Floating command line width gets shorter and shorter everytime you open up AutoCAD? Civil 3D is real bad, I used it to shoot the above video. In regular AutoCAD, it still shrinks, but it shrinks a lot less.
Any tips for keeping it floating but making the width stay constant?
When I click the Force command in the LOADS panel when doing a Frame Analysis, I don't get a dialog box. All I get is a select origin box with an arrow. There is no way to change the Magnitude value or the Angle of Plane as per instructions in the tutorial. I have tried numerous ways to get a dialog box to appear, but I can't find out how. why I am not getting a Dialog box?

I am developing Addin for inventor in C#.
I have added single panel in my new ribbon tab. This panel contains a single button.
When user clicks this button then a dockable window is invoked.
Now I want to insert 'Exit' Panel(and "Finish" button in it) to kill the above dockable window.
e.g. If we switch on sketch mode then to exit from this mode the 'Finish' button is there in all tabs of ribbon

I want to use this behaviour in my addin.
Is there any API to add this 'Exit' panel to terminate from any button command or do we need to add it ourselves?
Is there a command / system variable to set all buttons on every panel in the ribbon to have a button style of "smallwithouttext". I wiould like to do this without having to adjust each button manually
