View 6 RepliesI've attached a drawing with an interesting viewport. The frame of the viewport does not show. The only way to select the vport is via qselect or ctrl+a. I've had a look around the system variables for anything that can cause this. I've also saved the drawing to 2000 dxf version, thinking that it might be a new feature causing the missing frame issue.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm designing some photo frames and as they come in loads of different sizes, I'd like to be able to make the frame design bigger, in illustrator, but keep the width of the actual border. i.e. at the moment it's for a 10cm x 15cm photo with a 3cm wide border going all the way round - I want to keep it 3cm for larger photos.
and here's a link to the .ai file: [URL] I have loads of other frame designs which will need similar treatment so I'm looking for a general solution rather than something that is totally specific for this design.
i did the test with a qleader and everything seem to be functional but mealder have an issue where autodesk have to check this
example: i have a layer called test1 with color green i have a meleader with a Dot as an arrowhead when i go to the viewport and change the vport color to red
well everything changes expt the arrowhead which will take the layer color (green) but if i go to properties and i change the arrow head to closedfilled then it will take the vport color (wierd) i did the test with autocad 2008 to 2012 all the same problem
i did tried with a qleader and it works fine.
I've been trying to make a custom border for my images in PS. I already have an action that does this for me:
Back when I printed images myself in the darkroom, I loved FF images and the black edge they have. Here's an example of one of my old prints (scanned):
how to get a somewhat soft black edge like that that isn't perfectly straight? I've found a special brush in PS:CS3 that gives me this:
Now my issue is I need this to be done in an action. That was done "free hand" by drawing a straight line across each edge, then adding the white after with the canvas size tool... Also that brush isn't perfect. I'm looking for something that has that perfect looking blend/rollover as it transitions into the image.
way to make a rounded rectangle frame/border around an image.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have put several drawings into the Publish> DWG>>> PDF mode.
The PDF comes out missing little bits of border lines around circles and elipses as well as some bleeding of colors.
I have a plan and profile sheet set up with two viewports in it. Somehow one of the viewport's frame disapeared and I don't know how to get it back. Since it is not showing I can't click on the viewport to unlock it and adjust the view. I also can't delete it.
View 3 Replies View RelatedWe have a multi-member frame generator assembly. Some of the frame members are demoted to make sub-assemblies. One of these sub-assemblies is giving us problems. The FG options are missing. Ex. "Edit with Frame Generator" and "Delete with Frame Generator"....
Yesterday, we changed the size of the member using "Edit with Frame Generator" but decided against the change and just simply closed the file wihout saving. Upon opening the drawing back up, the change was present and the FG options were missing.
We have tried restoring previous versions. We have tried replacing the member with the original member file that we wanted using Component Replace. Nothing has restored the FG functionality. (Other sub-assemblies and the overall assembly are unaffected and have the FG options). However, we cannot even just delete this subassembly and try again. Delete is not an option.
How to get rid of it or restore the link to the frame generator?

I have a drawing and when I go to plot the drawing the border on 2 sides get s cut off. I preview and all looks right, but the hard-copy has the borders cut off. Is this a cad setting or a printer issue (other programs work fine and PDFs of drawings are good to).
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am using autocad 2013 primarily and other employees are using 2010. I am saving my drawings as 2010 and for me there are no issues. On the other hand people using 2010 are having objects missing in the drawing. All layers are turned on and all thawed. The primary objects missing are AEC objects. Is there a switch to show or hide these object?
View 2 Replies View RelatedAny way to print/plot a layer in a VPORT, but prevent the same layer from printing in Model Space?
I am annotating my VPORTS with text, but I don't want any of this text to print/plot from Model space. All of the annotations will be on the same layer even though the annotations will appear on multiple VPORTS.
I am wanting to hide certain objects on a layer in a layout so they dont show up when i print it out. Is there a way to do this? But I still want the objects to show up in other layouts all the time.

View 5 Replies View Relatedi have been sent a border from my client which has been drawnt in model space and they are asking the border they sent me for my drawings to be inserted into Paper space. When i insert the border into paper space the border is way to big for the paper space and i dont know how to make it fit ISOA1 size.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am trying to create a border around my drawings but I'm not sure how to start. I create A3 progress drawings on a muck shift site, they are very basic but serve the purpose they have to. I would like to insert a page border to appear 10mm inside the perimeter of the page to improve the appearance.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI want to get up to speed on the whole sheet, navigator, title mark thing but it seems so much more straightforward in Revit. I used to use mview and layouts and would title by hand on paper space layouts. With the functionally of Revit (it seems to be straight forward to drop in field information in title marks, sheet, numbers etc.) I am having problems in the navigator.
My process now in Autocad 2013 is to draw in model space, go to a layout in paper space, insert using 'mview' with the scale appropriate to the paper space sheet (that has an imported border with logo company info etc.). In order to automate the title marks, I use the tools pallet and drag that block into the layout. The title mark won't recognize the mview, so I made vports (using the vports dialog) but these boxes disappear when I exit that vport dialog box. When I insert the title mark from the pallet these vports show up when dragged over, but disappear again when placed or when the cursor is moved away. There appears on these vports to be a title mark location already as the lower left hand corner has a circle (as to show a view number).
So is the mview not a vport? How do I get the current vports to show their borders on the layout or how do I get the mview border to become a vport? I'd like to get the automatic fields to work so that I can enjoy the functionality I am currently enjoying in Revit. 'Why not just use Revit', there are times when our office needs to use autocad when revit doesn't make sense.
is there a function to add a continuous line border around a mtext box? currently i have simply been drawing a rectangle around the text, but this seems clunky.
View 1 Replies View Relatedif it possible to insert vport's annotation/standard scale into title block as a filed? Does some variable exist or I have to create a formula?
View 2 Replies View RelatedThere I have an issue trying to show the text I include on a structure steel members. On model space you can see and print that info. But if I go to paper space and put the drawing on a view port the text disappears? See attached. Just jump from model to work (paper space) and you will see what I am talking about.

View 6 Replies View RelatedEvery time that I open a new drawing which has clipped XRefs, the X clip frame is set to the number 2, and I set it back to number "0", but then when I finish that drawing and open another drawing, then the new drawing reverts back to X clip frame 2.
How or where I can change the setting to the default is always "0"?
According to the documentation the FRAME system variable overrides XCLIPFRAME, IMAGEFRAME, etc., has four valid values, 0, 1, 2, or 3, and its initial default value is 3. While editing a drawing, I set FRAME to 0, and then some time later, tried to set it back to 3. AutoCAD refused to accept this value, saying "Requires an integer between 0 and 2." Typing (SETVAR "FRAME" 3) at the command line also failed. The only way I could get it back to 3 was to use UNDO to go back to the default value. Is this a bug?

How to have “circular” shape for the frame of leader text?
I wanted to have circular shape for the text of the leader and wondering if such option might be exist.
Software: AutoCAD 2014, AutoCAD C3D, AutoCAD M3D, Revit
Windows 7 (Ultimate 64 bits),
Firefox 20.0,
Kaspersky 2013.
My modelspace is showing thru my wipeouts... But the wipeouts are active and I have remade the viewports with the same result. I've used draw order with no change. And here's the kicker. It (the Wipeout) hides the viewport frame, but not the actual model space material being shown thru the viewport. It remains visible.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have a logo that is a jpg file Xref'd into a title block xref file. In my sheet files IMAGEFRAME and OLEFRAME are set to 0. They are set that way in the Title Block file as well. I still have some sheet files with these system variables set to 0 that still print the border around the logo.
