I've attached a drawing with an interesting viewport. The frame of the viewport does not show. The only way to select the vport is via qselect or ctrl+a. I've had a look around the system variables for anything that can cause this. I've also saved the drawing to 2000 dxf version, thinking that it might be a new feature causing the missing frame issue.
i did the test with a qleader and everything seem to be functional but mealder have an issue where autodesk have to check this
example: i have a layer called test1 with color green i have a meleader with a Dot as an arrowhead when i go to the viewport and change the vport color to red
well everything changes expt the arrowhead which will take the layer color (green) but if i go to properties and i change the arrow head to closedfilled then it will take the vport color (wierd) i did the test with autocad 2008 to 2012 all the same problem
I have a user who has been using certain solids for years with no problems but now having one.
These are simple flat object types "solid" objects that are simple direction arrows. If I print it from model space they are filled in. If I look at it and/or print it from paper space (in a viewport) it shows up only as an outline of the arrow.
FILLMODE is set to 1, have tried 0 also, doesn't change anything.
I'm trying to export an animated gif with 52 frames - I'm using the timeline in CS6, it's exported correctly in the past but when I try and save for web only a seemingly arbitrary number of rames appear in the animation. With no clear route to rectify this, I've tried to affect the outcome by simply moving things around on the timeline.
I've had a variety of frame ranges (and frames) numbering between 2 and 6 frames, far off my 52 target. It's a simple image and equally simple transition to keep filesize down
Any way to print/plot a layer in a VPORT, but prevent the same layer from printing in Model Space?
I am annotating my VPORTS with text, but I don't want any of this text to print/plot from Model space. All of the annotations will be on the same layer even though the annotations will appear on multiple VPORTS.
I am wanting to hide certain objects on a layer in a layout so they dont show up when i print it out. Is there a way to do this? But I still want the objects to show up in other layouts all the time.
I want to get up to speed on the whole sheet, navigator, title mark thing but it seems so much more straightforward in Revit. I used to use mview and layouts and would title by hand on paper space layouts. With the functionally of Revit (it seems to be straight forward to drop in field information in title marks, sheet, numbers etc.) I am having problems in the navigator.
My process now in Autocad 2013 is to draw in model space, go to a layout in paper space, insert using 'mview' with the scale appropriate to the paper space sheet (that has an imported border with logo company info etc.). In order to automate the title marks, I use the tools pallet and drag that block into the layout. The title mark won't recognize the mview, so I made vports (using the vports dialog) but these boxes disappear when I exit that vport dialog box. When I insert the title mark from the pallet these vports show up when dragged over, but disappear again when placed or when the cursor is moved away. There appears on these vports to be a title mark location already as the lower left hand corner has a circle (as to show a view number).
So is the mview not a vport? How do I get the current vports to show their borders on the layout or how do I get the mview border to become a vport? I'd like to get the automatic fields to work so that I can enjoy the functionality I am currently enjoying in Revit. 'Why not just use Revit', there are times when our office needs to use autocad when revit doesn't make sense.
There I have an issue trying to show the text I include on a structure steel members. On model space you can see and print that info. But if I go to paper space and put the drawing on a view port the text disappears? See attached. Just jump from model to work (paper space) and you will see what I am talking about.
In 2012... For Mleaders, Does the text frame (offset) really adjust with the landing gap set? I have been asking for the mleader text frame gap to be larger or adjustable for years. I was just wondering if what I read on [URL]........ was true.
How to hide the frame that comes with the equation? I inserted an equation using the “equation editor”. What’s weird is that the equation is inserted with a frame around it! Is there a way to remove this frame?
Every time that I open a new drawing which has clipped XRefs, the X clip frame is set to the number 2, and I set it back to number "0", but then when I finish that drawing and open another drawing, then the new drawing reverts back to X clip frame 2.
How or where I can change the setting to the default is always "0"?
According to the documentation the FRAME system variable overrides XCLIPFRAME, IMAGEFRAME, etc., has four valid values, 0, 1, 2, or 3, and its initial default value is 3. While editing a drawing, I set FRAME to 0, and then some time later, tried to set it back to 3. AutoCAD refused to accept this value, saying "Requires an integer between 0 and 2." Typing (SETVAR "FRAME" 3) at the command line also failed. The only way I could get it back to 3 was to use UNDO to go back to the default value. Is this a bug?
Displays but does not plot the PDF underlay frame.
frame 2
Displays but does not plot the frame.and this last one is the override for all frames but...on the printout a few thin lines of the clip (not all) but noting in the preview
I have several drawings with different image types in them. Whenever I try to print DWG to PDF or even Adobe PDF, I get a "Attempting to cancel" message and everything shows up in the PDF except the images.
My modelspace is showing thru my wipeouts... But the wipeouts are active and I have remade the viewports with the same result. I've used draw order with no change. And here's the kicker. It (the Wipeout) hides the viewport frame, but not the actual model space material being shown thru the viewport. It remains visible.
I have a logo that is a jpg file Xref'd into a title block xref file. In my sheet files IMAGEFRAME and OLEFRAME are set to 0. They are set that way in the Title Block file as well. I still have some sheet files with these system variables set to 0 that still print the border around the logo.
I have a drawing with objects on multiple layers, however when I select an object, they all show as whtever layer is showing. If I open the drawing on antoher machine, everything works properly with multiple layers.
I have a master drawing with multiple xrefed building sketches. Looking at the model space on the "master" I can see all the room identities. However, if I go to the sheets that I have created and look at the view ports. The room identities are not there. The layer is called A-Room-Iden and it is on and not frozen...
I've recently started having a problem where some objects that I edit or insert, such as blocks, only show in white. The photo I show is an example. I recently used viewport clip in order to add in the detail shown on the top right, and when I did so, the viewport went white, and it has since not changed. It is supposed to show in yellow, as shown with the other viewports. When I change to "bylayer" it is white, and when I manually change it, it stays white. As shown, I've changed it manually to cyan, and it remains white.
I think this may be an obsucre system variable problem, but I'm not sure where to start.
I am using Autocad Architecture and am attempting to use 3-D for the first time. The program opens and runs fine, and it allows me to create objects with no issue. However, when I try to apply materials to an object, the materials do not show up. The materials/textures tab is turned on, I can see the loaded materials, and the style is set to realistic. Even when I choose the material option "select objects with this material", it selects them as if the material is applied. The material does not show up either on screen or when rendered.
I have a sheetset setup for a group of over 100 drawings. I was approached yesterday asking why in the regular select file to open in AutoCAD some of the thumbnail previews won't show up. We checked in options and it is checked to show a preview. Only half a dozen or so of them aren't showing up.
I have to shade a drawing on auto cad. I go into the "hatch" command click on the solid block and then turn the transparency up all the way to its lightest shade. The shading shows on the drawing and even in paper space, but once I save the drawing as a PDF when I look at it all it is is black (like the solid color)..Why is it doing this and how do I get it to show the shading effect?? I am not sure if I have to turn on or off another setting or something.
He's got a series of roadway plans where the North arrow shows up fine on some sheets, but the fill (solid hatch) in the arrows doesn't display on others. The arrows are blocks, all the elements in the block are on layer "0" (zero).and the blocks reside in model space.
Just for grins. I had him expand a viewport (where the arrow looks fine) to capture a problematic arrow and... it looks fine. So, it's not an arrow/block/layer issue. It's a viewport issue.
Dimensions show when viewport style is set to 2d wire frame, but only show when they are draged outside the viewport frame when it is set to 3D hidden. Policy is no diemensions in modle space. So how do I show dimensions in paper space with the viewport style set to 3D hidden?
2012 drawings are not showing multi-leaders, when opened in 2007. We saved the 2012 drawings down to 2004. These same multileaders are not printing either.
