I have a sheetset setup for a group of over 100 drawings. I was approached yesterday asking why in the regular select file to open in AutoCAD some of the thumbnail previews won't show up. We checked in options and it is checked to show a preview. Only half a dozen or so of them aren't showing up.
View 2 RepliesI'm having alot of issues with thumbnail previews in Finder ever since I updated to Mavericks. Basically, any TIF-files that include layer masks won't show a preview at all in Finder.
I just get the static TIF-file graphics, but no actual preview. I have enabled to maximise compatability in Photoshop CC, and all the files are either 16 or 18 bit files.
I have just noticed a problem that I have not encountered until I upgraded to 3.3. After I export my images as jpegs, the thumbnail previews are not complete for a few of the files. I get about two corrupt thumbnails in Windows Explorer out of 100 exported images. Here is a screenshot showing what they look like.

The images are fine when I open the files, but the previews are not complete. I would like to fix it so my clients don't get "broken" thumbnail views.
When searching for files I've worked on using File>Open in CS6, the List view of the folder no longer shows a thumbnail of the file. This is ridiculous, as every other version of Photoshop has had it, and everyone is complaining.
Why isn't Adobe responding to this? With the frequency with which we have to update to be able to update rather than buying the entire version, we shouldn't be losing functionality in the program. How about it Adobe?????
When in Photoshop CC I then go to file / open, my machine won't display preview thumbnails for each of my image files (.jpg, .gif, .png, .psd etc) and all I see is the blue Photoshop icon for each of these files, I have also tried changing the view options on the folder and change to medium, large and extra large thumbnails but again they all just display the Photoshop CC blue icon.
When I run Photoshop CS5 on this exact same machine it shows them! Is there a setting I need to change in Photoshop CC to get this to work, or is Adobe trying to get us to use bridge or?
I am running Windows 7.
When using the WBLOCK command, no thumbnail preview is being saved with the block for previewing in Windows Explorer. I have check the RASTERPREVIEW system variable is set to 1, but this makes no difference.
When saving files normally I do not have a problem.

View 8 Replies View RelatedWhen I click on File>Open The dialog box no longer has a thumnail preview. Only a small grey box hovering on the right that says "Initial View" with a check box. I have attached a snapshot of my Autocad File> open dialog box so you can see what I'm getting on my end.
If I browse for files in windows explorer and change view option to thumbnail I can see the thumbnails just fine.
I've tried everything but I cannot get back my File> Open thumbnail preview.
In Tools> Options I have the thumbnail preview settings all set to save thumbnail preview image. Nothing has changed that I know if for the thumbnail preview to go away.
It's really slowing me down not being able to have thumbnail preview in the file> open dialog box.
Why can't Windows Explorer show thumbnail previews of DNG's on my Windows 8.1 64bit Pc. I assume is has something to do with not having the DNG codec. However, on Adobe's website it says their DNG codec only works on Windows 7.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI just installed Lightroom 5 and the import dialog box is not showing the previews of the images. Without the previews, there are no images to select for importing. It doesn't matter if they are JPG or CR2 and if I try to import from the camera card or hard drive. Version 4.4 also failed at first but after hacking away, I finally got the older version to work.
I am using Lightroom 5, Windows 7 64 bit.
Today when I was importing images off a memory card I noticed the thumbnails in library mode were not showing any previews, they were blank (gray) for only the recently imported items. My other folders' thumbnails are showing previews with no issue.
I am working in Lightroom 4. I am using Windows 8 on a HP laptop.
A couple of other notes about what I noticed...
1. In the import screen the thumbnails display the preview.
2. Once the import goes to the Library Mode - thumbnails are blank. Can only see the image number and any symbols indicating tags or changes to the image.
3. Loupe view I cannot get an image to appear.
4. In the Develop Mode if I click on a thumbnail down in the filmstrip (which are all blank) an image will appear in the work area and the filmstrip thumbnail will display a preview of the one I selected. The thumbnail preview will remain visible for a few moments after moving to a new image. Then it just goes blank again.
5. I was importing jpegs and dngs. Having the same problem with both of these today.
6. All the other thumbnails in folders that were in the catalog prior to today are visible and working normally.
newly imported images not displaying an image in the thumbnail whether it is in Library Mode, Loupe View, or Develop mode.
So I have photoshop CS5, when I go and open a image and select it, in the preview thumbnail it shows the orignal file, without the edits but when I open the file it shows the cropped version. Is there any way I can get the original since it's showing in the thumbnail preview??
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am very news to photoshop and I am using CS4 and have experienced a problem today that I have not encountered before.l When cropping a picture just a small green box with the normal red outline exists in Navigator howeverf if I click on Histroy the original pictgure will show back up on photoshop.
for the first three weeks I did not have a probloem with this issue, I am trying to get a fell for photoshop and then upgrade to the newest edition.
We have a problem with long (like 10 minute) saves.
If we go to Tools / Options / Open and Save / Thumbnail Preview Settings, in the "Sheets and Views" panel, the "Performance-Accuracy Slider" is set all the way to the right, which the Information Panel lists as "Update thumbnails when saving drawing".
If we manually slide it to the center, listed in the Information Panel as "Update thumbnails when accessed", the Save times become less than a minute.
This setting is not saved and we need to reset it each time each drawing is opened.
There has to be a setting because MY STATION did not have this problem with ANY drawing until our Supplier's Support Team got onto my computer yesterday. NOW it's a problem on my computer also.
Setting the UPDATETHUMBNAIL to "0" works, but then we have no Previews.
Setting the UPDATETHUMBNAIL to "1" does not work.
Mark at DC:CADD, our AutoCAD vendor, sent us to:
Tools / Options / Thumbnail Preview Settings / Sheets and Views.We had our "Performance Accuracy" set to high.Setting it at the half-way mark improved things greatly.
HOWEVER, this setting turns back to "high" when AutoCAD is restarted.So, we saved the settings to a new Workspace.It there anyway to get the accuracy to remain as set?
I am exploring the possibilities of content browser of AutoCAD 2012 and came across a contrast issue. The thumbnail background color is white and the lines are as drawn. (Drawing with black background)
Is it possible to change the Thumbnail Background color to black to get a better preview.?
I am using AutoCAD 2011 and am not getting my AutoCAD files thumbnail preview in windows explorer. I did reinstalled it but no use. All other programs like PDF, MS office files are showing thier preview but AutoCAD don't.

I am using Video Studio X4 with Service Packs 1 and 2 installed running on Windows XP Home, SP 2 with all updates installed and DirectX 9.0. The scene changes work fine when I Preview them but they are not saved when I close the Create Disk sub-menu. When I return to the “Menu and Preview” section of the Create Disk sub-menu, the Main Menu scene change is present as is the Chapter 1 scene change but the other chapter scene changes are gone. What can I do to correct this?

I have several drawings with different image types in them. Whenever I try to print DWG to PDF or even Adobe PDF, I get a "Attempting to cancel" message and everything shows up in the PDF except the images.
I can print to a printer just fine.
I have a drawing with objects on multiple layers, however when I select an object, they all show as whtever layer is showing. If I open the drawing on antoher machine, everything works properly with multiple layers.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI've recently started having a problem where some objects that I edit or insert, such as blocks, only show in white. The photo I show is an example. I recently used viewport clip in order to add in the detail shown on the top right, and when I did so, the viewport went white, and it has since not changed. It is supposed to show in yellow, as shown with the other viewports. When I change to "bylayer" it is white, and when I manually change it, it stays white. As shown, I've changed it manually to cyan, and it remains white.
I think this may be an obsucre system variable problem, but I'm not sure where to start.
I am using Autocad Architecture and am attempting to use 3-D for the first time. The program opens and runs fine, and it allows me to create objects with no issue. However, when I try to apply materials to an object, the materials do not show up. The materials/textures tab is turned on, I can see the loaded materials, and the style is set to realistic. Even when I choose the material option "select objects with this material", it selects them as if the material is applied. The material does not show up either on screen or when rendered.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI've attached a drawing with an interesting viewport. The frame of the viewport does not show. The only way to select the vport is via qselect or ctrl+a. I've had a look around the system variables for anything that can cause this. I've also saved the drawing to 2000 dxf version, thinking that it might be a new feature causing the missing frame issue.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have to shade a drawing on auto cad. I go into the "hatch" command click on the solid block and then turn the transparency up all the way to its lightest shade. The shading shows on the drawing and even in paper space, but once I save the drawing as a PDF when I look at it all it is is black (like the solid color)..Why is it doing this and how do I get it to show the shading effect?? I am not sure if I have to turn on or off another setting or something.
View 2 Replies View RelatedHe's got a series of roadway plans where the North arrow shows up fine on some sheets, but the fill (solid hatch) in the arrows doesn't display on others. The arrows are blocks, all the elements in the block are on layer "0" (zero).and the blocks reside in model space.
Just for grins. I had him expand a viewport (where the arrow looks fine) to capture a problematic arrow and... it looks fine. So, it's not an arrow/block/layer issue. It's a viewport issue.
Are the previews of deleted images themselves automatically deleted from the previews folder?

View 7 Replies View RelatedUsing CAD2011, froze, I restarted it and reopened the file I was working in. In my ribbon, all layers read "0", but show the correct ByLayer color according to what layers they were on before the crash. If I list something, it shows the correct layer, and not that it's on "0". When my coworker opens the same file everything is as it should be, which leads me to believe some setting got messed up during this crash.
It is making work way more difficult than it should be - I can't see what layers are what!
All of a sudden and out of the blue this window fails to apprear when trying to save a drawing to another location or to a different file name.
AutoCAD 2011 still has this funciton so have had to go back to using the earlier version.
I'm looking for a field or maybe piece of rtext that can display any pdf's that are showing in a drawing, I've had no luck in finding anything that can do it.
