So I've drawn a 3d model in Autocad 2011 and when I come to print it in either layout or model view I get lines that appear. These lines do not show up in the print preview no do they look like they relate to the model itself, so I can't understand where they are coming from. I have the grid lines turned off and have exhausted everything else I can think of.
See the attached pdf for what I'm talking about.
When printing in AutoCAD 2011 when using the "DWG to PDF.pc3" printer, many lines in the resulting PDF are faded while others appear fine. I can zoom in and all the lines appear with the same weight. There are multiple layers on the drawing but all contain the same line weight and lines on the same layer appear with different weights.
This occurs on all AutoCAD files and all users. I have tried changing pin assignments with no success. Printing directly to Adobe PDF does not result in this issue but with each sheet of drawing being a different file this process uses a lot of time.
Im trying to plot a drawing and the grey lines are printing on top of black. how do I get black to print on top of grey? I am using MEP2013

The only problem is that my i send my prints to the printer they all get out of order becasue they are sent as indivisal jobs and people look through them to find where there prints have snuck in.
It has just become to annoying and i was thinking there must be a better way.
I was thinking like a vertual printer that the batcher can send the prints to and then transfer them to the printer you want when they are all there.
I'm trying to export all my layouts in a drawings to PDF. I'm using EXPORTPDF from the Output tab.
If I'm exporting the current layout, or if I'm creating a multi-sheet PDF, the plot stamp shows up. I get the 'Save as PDF' dialog box where I can tick "Include plot stamp".
However, if I export all layouts as single-sheet, this dialog doesn't appear and the plot stamp is not on the PDF produced.
I'm having issues printing layouts to full colour. I've Exported to PDF and plotted to a printer and the same things keep happening. The Polylines and hatching keep being faded whilst printing. I've checked lineweights, I've turned off everything to do with fading - even layer managers setting fade slide bar is turned off. I've massed with plot styles and still it is happening.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI print using Lr 3.6 and seem to never get on paper what Lr shows on screen. A case in point is that if I print with no (zero) borders specified in the Layout section of the Print module I get a print which is identical to the one I obtain when I set the left and right borders to non-zero values (e.g. 2mm). This is even though Lr's screen does show no borders in the first case and the expected borders in the second case.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am having a problem with grid lines showing up in my print out from autocad, but only in the viewport that has 3D objects in it and displayed in conceptual mode or realistic mode. Don't know what is causing them or how to get rid of them. They do not show up on my screen or in the print preview. They only show up in the final prints and even when printing to a pdf file format. I have printed the same drawing out from other computers that have Autocad 2009 and do not get that problem. My computer has Autocad 2010. I have also uninstalled and reinstalled Autocad but that doesn't work.
View 1 Replies View Related I am having trouble getting good prints when printing out of CS5. I have taken all of the calibration and profiling steps and my prints are coming out very dark and muddy.
I am printing on an Epson Pro 7800 and I am a Mac user (OS X 10.6.8). I contacted Epson and they suggested printing out of Preview and the images looked far better which, they suggested, points to something in Photoshop that is causing the problem.
My prints dont match what i am seeing on the screen when using CS3. I am using windows xp and printing on a epson 7800. I never had this problem before i started using CS3. I have calibrated my monitor.
I have the standard version of CS3 not the extended. I read a arctical that CS3 prints darker then what is on your screen. The solution if you have CS3 extended is to increase lightness just before printing, but what if you dont have the extended version, what do you do?
Computer is Windows 7 x64 running adobe CS6. The printer is a HP laserjet 3800dn the driver for the printer is PCL5 but it does the same thing printing with the Postscript driver. We have a navy blue color that prints out black for some reason. In the print options right before releasing the job we changed the use Illustrator colors to use Post script colors and it still does the same thing....Prints black where blue is supposed to go on the document. Doesn't matter if it is a .jpeg or plain text. Sending the job to a different printer works which is a Xerox work centre.

Ive noticed that printing from other *dumb* programs such as Microsoft Paint the images look fine BUT with photoshop the images print ultra fast and have lines. It looks like note taking paper. How do I fix this? I am guessing this is some kind of Printer quality setting????
I have decided to print some of my digital pictures; how do you crop pictures in Photoshop while keeping the same proportion so they will still work for 4x6 prints. I know how to keep the same proportion when resizing files, just not cropping.

I use Arial or Times New Roman ttf fonts for printing labels and texts and print out with a laser printer. I did not have any problem in the past up to CorelDraw X4. . All text came out black with X4. Recently, i upgraded to Coreldraw X5. When I printed shipping labels and texts with X5 in the same way as I have been doing with X4, the labels came out in faint prints. I could not use shipping labels printed with X5 for mailing out. I repeated installing X4 and X5. I see that something is wrong with X5. All labels and simple text prints are faint with X5. On the other hand, printing with X4 came out charcoal dark. I installed X5 on both home and office computers. Both gave the idential results. My computer runs Windows 7 professional. Printers are HP (office) or Samsung (home) laser printers. How to make prints darker? I am only concerned B & W print (not color because I did not try color printing yet).

Typically our castings are made from different materials (Fig-1) and then machining (Fig-2) are created from these castings.
Is creating the casting as an iPart (with different materials) and then deriving the machining from the casting the proper method?
Doing it this way seems to force us into making a machining for each casting material instead of just one machining that is an iPart. How should this be set-up for BOM purposes and for use with Vault (Base Version)?
I am using Autocad 2012. I need to make some 2D execution drawings from a 3D model. I tried to use the following commands: flatshot, flatten §ion plane. All of them are having bad results. From all this 3 commands the closer to my needs is the flatshot. But I am working with many layers which have different colors, so when I will generate the 2D views I need to see the same color as the layers have (each color is for a particular medium).
I am using this command without showing the obscured lines.When I am generating the isometric views with the flatshot I am seeing strange objects (UFO), is far away from the original model, you can see in the attachment.
It is possible to generate somehow 2D views (front views&isometric views) seeing the color which every element has, and it is possible to correct somehow those ugly isometric views ( the guys from autocad should do something with this, because when I am generating a isometric view the 2d drawing that I received is completely different from the 3D model !).
I want to make the drawings using the 2D views, because the 3D Models are very big (50-60MB) and it is very hard to work with them!
I can not type text anymore . If I try it prints only lines. How can this be fixed?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have an Imac with Mountain Lion, CS5 and have just replaced my Epson R2400 with an R3000. Now the white background round the image is covered in small cyan and light grey dots. If the image fills the paper, then the margin is affected. But when trying to proof colours I am going through loads of paper as I cannot now print a smaller image on a larger piece of paper, then re-feed the same sheet through with another small image as the paper is now pale blue.
The R2400 was fine for proofing, as the image alone would print and then the printer fed through the remainder of the sheet without printing, leaving the rest of the paper white. I understood from that , that it was most likely a Photoshop issue and some sort of conflict with the Paper profiles. But, I have checked the profiles on my Mac and they are all version 2 profiles. I note that the few profiles that do work without the blue colour do have 'bkpt' in their profiling and that the ones for the paper I actually do use and in fact the majority of the profiles, do not contain 'bkpt'.
We have experienced what we think is a bug in AutoCAD 2010's printing. We are running A2010 with Update 1 & 2 installed. Same issue on both x32 & x64 hardware.
Each project is setup with a title block xref'ed into the sheet (quite common method).
The Title Block xref generally has images loaded & therefore the image is a child to the sheet file when the TB is referenced in.
We have used this method for about 15 years across most versions of AutoCAD with no issues before now.
Now on AutoCAD 2010, when we print the sheet, the xref'ed TB images print black & white, rather than color. However if we use AutoCAD 2008 with same pagesetup/ctb/pc3 etc, we get the same print, but image is colour (as we would expect & want).
This leads us to think that there is some issue in AutoCAD 2010 with xref'ed images & how they are treated when plotting.
To complicate matters further, if we bind the title block, thus making the image embeded within the sheet, the images now print fine in full colour.
So, if a image is loaded via a xref'ed dwg, it plots in Black & White. If image is referenced into live sheet (not via xref), then it plots in color. All other xref'ed linework prints as expected (defined by ctb).
Is there any new variable which manages the colour printing of the image in A2010 which we are not aware of (that didnt exist in A2008)?
i am doing a simple project making a survey plot for a piece of land that will be broken into subdivision. all measurements are of my starting point. after plotting the starting point i try to draw line that is 113 feet long and at a bearing of N 5d W i have no problem entering this data but when i hit enter it draws a straight line. now i know 5 degrees is much of an angle so i thought maybe it just looked straight and tried to plot the next point which was 542 feet from the last point at a bearing of N 39d E but once again after i put the info in and hit enter or space it would plot a line of the proper length but vertical, not the proper angle i need it at. here is how i would put in the info:
first i choose the lne command and choose my "beginning point" as that starting point for my line then i type 113<N 5d W for the length and direction and hit enter. when i do this it plots a vertical line of the proper length but wrong angle. what am i doing wrong? i have ortho set to off and idk what else to mess with
I was trying for an option with wipeout mask.
Is there any option with wipeout to turn the continuous lines into dotted lines instead of hiding the object? I have been working on one staircase block, i want to show half block as a dotted lines.. is there any way to do that without going in to the block edit and change? thats why am looking for wipeout mask option.
I remember being able to select 'Print Grid' back when I used AutoCAD 2000, but never needed to print the grid lines until about a year ago. AutoCAD and AutoCAD LT cannot do this. It seems only AutoCAD Civil 3D users have this option. Basically I need to print the drawing with a grid on paper and/or a mobile device so a field technician can draw conditions to scale easily and accurately. I realize this must not be in high demand, but there are a number of users who have asked about this. They are told that it is only a 'drawing aid' and they should array their construction lines to print their own grid. This is not a good solution for repetition of printing scaled field drawings, and certainly not 'state of the art' technology. Is this feature removed so we will have to search out the higher priced product? It seems like 'Print Grid' could be easily returned to all AutoCAD. Probably just a system variable that was removed when we weren't looking.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a drawing with a screen and behind it is an xref drawing. When I print it to our KIP plotter the lines and other items behind the screen do not plot.
Here is how it is setup and what I have tried
The Xref itself is on its own layer and all the layers of the xref are set to a color that has thickness of .0138 and a 35% screen.
The hatch resides in the active drawing and is set to a color that is also .0138 thick but at a 20% screen.
The hatch is a DOT hatch at scale 1, but I have also tried it as a solid hatch
Lines merge is on and needs to be on.
I have made sure that the hatch is sent to the back and that there is no overlapping of data from other sources liek a second hatch or the same data in another xref etc.
I also tried setting the xref layers to another color that is .0256 thick with a 35% screen, but the results where the same. If i change the xref layers to a .0138 thick color with 100% screen, they do print over the hatch then.
I have a drawing that has a xref drawing inserted in it, that has lines still printing when they turned off off in the xref drawing, now I have got around this by selecting not to print in the xref drawing layer manager, but I do not understand why they are still printing if they are turned off ?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have been send a dwg of a elevation of a kitchen plans that I want to include into my drawing, everything looks ok in autocad but when I go to print this drawing, non of the lines show up just a few random text boxes but no text, no layers are set to not print so why this is so.
I can not upload the file as its 3.32mb.
I have PDF files created in AutoCad Arch 2010. When I print them some of the grayscale comes out as random zig-zag line pattern. When I veiw the PDF it looks fine. Images that do this are usually backgrounds of logos or shaded driveways / sidewalks. Some sheets out of a given set will print fine while others do this zig-zag thing?

When in model space no extra lines a present or missing. Everything is where it need to be. Same goes when a review the drawing in layout before I publish to PDF.
When I publish to paper its fine, no problems.
