When I use the built-in dwg to PDF for publishing multiable layout tabs I somtimes get extra and/or missing lines and objects on the PDF. When in model space no extra lines a present or missing. Everything is where it need to be. Same goes when a review the drawing in layout before I publish to PDF.
When I publish to paper its fine, no problems.
Had these lines show up in ACAD. I have to restart everything to get them to go away.

View 2 Replies View RelatedWhen plotting any IDW files to our full size plotter, I have ghost lines running through the drawing (lines that are not present in the drawing, on screen or preview) alomost like the plotter is printing extra extension lines on the drawings, overlaying 2 sheets on 1 drawings and even moving some text on the drawings. I have all the SP's and am lost. I can move to another computer and print drawings fine so its not a plotter issue.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am using 2013 and have a few 3D objects in the modeling space that I am using view base to put different views of each into the paper space. When I do this and export to PDF, I get an extra green line from the paper space. I have deleted and replaced the view and have tried different views with varying sucess.
Some pieces simply need a different view, however I have one that will not go away. The different view does really solve the problem either because I need the view with the problem. I have attached a picture of the issue, but it is just a chunk to protect information that I cannot share. The gray in the drawing is the part, the green line should not be there. The green line only shows up on the PDF, not in modeling space or paper space.
I have a 4" pipe tee that was imported to IV from a neutral format ( I don't remember which one. ) In the end view, there are always extra lines showing extending from the branch of the tee.
I can hide the lines, but that then hides the edge lines of a plate welded to the tee branch. Files are attached

Is there a way to remove the extra sash lines which, in plan, are meant to represent the sash below the cut plane? I want to keep the sash "nub" at adjacent to the frame, but remove the lines which run parallel to the glass.

i open a new picture i have to first ctr h to turn off the extra grid lines in order to view my pcitures , is there a way to turn off the extra grid lines permanently so i dont have to do it every time i open a new picture?

I have completed my drawings, converted them to PDF(image 1) and when i print the PDF out, there are parts of the drawing missing as image 2 shows. If i plot direct from autocad, there is no problem with the print.

This is affecting multiple people, using various machines (all the same model). It is happening when they print to multiple printers, and also when they print to PDF.
They are losing some information. The drawings themselves usually look ok, it is some of the extra data. This can be in the footnote information in the corner. This can be data within the actual drawing. It is not a guaranteed fault, and affects them all intermittently.
I'm using AutoCAD MEP 2011. Is there a way to hide 3D objects in a viewport when printing without using Solview/Soldraw? When I use solview/soldraw it thaws out certain entities that I need to not be shown and then I am having to go and erase a bunch of lines that I do not want to be there..

Here is screenshot of pdf and also a screenshot of drawing that clearly shows the lines in corners. HIDEPRECISION set to 1 didn't work and all objects are on same layer.

However i recently created a model that has an M40 Thread as part of the model. However when i try to 3D print it, it doesn't recognise the thread and it isn't printed. I see the thread on the ipt but once it is saved as an stl it seems to disappear.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI remember being able to select 'Print Grid' back when I used AutoCAD 2000, but never needed to print the grid lines until about a year ago. AutoCAD and AutoCAD LT cannot do this. It seems only AutoCAD Civil 3D users have this option. Basically I need to print the drawing with a grid on paper and/or a mobile device so a field technician can draw conditions to scale easily and accurately. I realize this must not be in high demand, but there are a number of users who have asked about this. They are told that it is only a 'drawing aid' and they should array their construction lines to print their own grid. This is not a good solution for repetition of printing scaled field drawings, and certainly not 'state of the art' technology. Is this feature removed so we will have to search out the higher priced product? It seems like 'Print Grid' could be easily returned to all AutoCAD. Probably just a system variable that was removed when we weren't looking.
View 3 Replies View RelatedWhen printing in AutoCAD 2011 when using the "DWG to PDF.pc3" printer, many lines in the resulting PDF are faded while others appear fine. I can zoom in and all the lines appear with the same weight. There are multiple layers on the drawing but all contain the same line weight and lines on the same layer appear with different weights.
This occurs on all AutoCAD files and all users. I have tried changing pin assignments with no success. Printing directly to Adobe PDF does not result in this issue but with each sheet of drawing being a different file this process uses a lot of time.
I have a drawing with a screen and behind it is an xref drawing. When I print it to our KIP plotter the lines and other items behind the screen do not plot.
Here is how it is setup and what I have tried
The Xref itself is on its own layer and all the layers of the xref are set to a color that has thickness of .0138 and a 35% screen.
The hatch resides in the active drawing and is set to a color that is also .0138 thick but at a 20% screen.
The hatch is a DOT hatch at scale 1, but I have also tried it as a solid hatch
Lines merge is on and needs to be on.
I have made sure that the hatch is sent to the back and that there is no overlapping of data from other sources liek a second hatch or the same data in another xref etc.
I also tried setting the xref layers to another color that is .0256 thick with a 35% screen, but the results where the same. If i change the xref layers to a .0138 thick color with 100% screen, they do print over the hatch then.
I have a drawing that has a xref drawing inserted in it, that has lines still printing when they turned off off in the xref drawing, now I have got around this by selecting not to print in the xref drawing layer manager, but I do not understand why they are still printing if they are turned off ?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have been send a dwg of a elevation of a kitchen plans that I want to include into my drawing, everything looks ok in autocad but when I go to print this drawing, non of the lines show up just a few random text boxes but no text, no layers are set to not print so why this is so.

I am a PC user of Autocad LT making the transfer to Mac.Just purchased AutoCad LT for Mac 2012.While printing a file from layout in landscape, the bottom edge is missing.
If I print a file in Portrait It will center and fit to page perfectly.(Within The Dashed Lines)The layout page shows the print inside the dashed lines of the printing area as it should.
I have tried moving the layout above the dashed line, then the top that shows outside the lines won't print.I have tried every hing I can think of, without success.
When I plot part of a large detailed drawing about 10% of the lines and text is missing. I'm using a Konica 7135/IP-423 PS laser printer. Happens if I print any method and shows the entities missing in print preview too. They seem to be in the same layer but not all of the entities in that layer are missing. It's in color 30 and changing the color didn't work either.
I set hide precision = 1 that didn't work either. I'm plotting in model space.

In hiden lines configuration, when I am plotting my drawing, the tangent lines of 3D cylinders (this is a pipes drawing) are missing. I have tried many options to solve that problem: paper plot , pdf plot, high pdf resolution plot, small size drawing plot, changed the thickness of the lines, change the color of the lines, plot with other computers... I did not find any solution and I have to send my drawings to a customer. In any configurations, the lines appears but others disappears. Even in the preview plot, lines are missing.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have PDF files created in AutoCad Arch 2010. When I print them some of the grayscale comes out as random zig-zag line pattern. When I veiw the PDF it looks fine. Images that do this are usually backgrounds of logos or shaded driveways / sidewalks. Some sheets out of a given set will print fine while others do this zig-zag thing?

Problem is, all the lines or blocks etc within the drawing that are on colour 253 (a grey i use for certain elements of the drawing) are coming out purple when i print the drawing out!?
I copied some lines with global widths into another drawing and the line is displayed and printed with an outline around the global width of the line in the new drawing.. almost like it is a (3D offset for the global width, and not solid fill)
I have checked my fillmode. "fillmode = 1" and I also checked my UCS "UCS is set to current"
Why is this happening and if it has to do with some inherent properties of that new dwg?
my OS is Vista 64bit. i was using ACA2008 SP1 without any problems about a year.i decided to uninstall it and start using ACA2009.i have uninstalled ACA2008, 3dsmax2008 and other autodesk apps and removed some folders 'autodesk' and 'autodesk shared' from vista system folders.i also delete 'autodesk' from registry (LocalMachine/Software & CurrentUser/Software).then i installed ACA2009 64bit without any problems. after install i start it and there wasn't any problems (but i do not use any AEC objects, so i don't know if they was working).next i installed 3dsmax2009 & sp1 for it. max worked OK.then i installed sp1 for ACA2009. instalation was OK... but when i start working on a project i realised that AEC objects (wall,door, etc.) dont work at all ACA2009 starts OK without any warning or something...it loads at startup AECarchBase (and other AEC related stuff) but when you are trying to use any of wall,door,window it does do nothing... for example when you select wall from tools pallete it shows command 'WallAdd' in command line and then wall command ends without any warning or something...it also doesn't work from command line or menu the strange thing is when i uninstall ACA2009 and install ACA2008 again problem was also now in ACA2008 !!!
