View 1 RepliesWhen plotting any IDW files to our full size plotter, I have ghost lines running through the drawing (lines that are not present in the drawing, on screen or preview) alomost like the plotter is printing extra extension lines on the drawings, overlaying 2 sheets on 1 drawings and even moving some text on the drawings. I have all the SP's and am lost. I can move to another computer and print drawings fine so its not a plotter issue.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a 4" pipe tee that was imported to IV from a neutral format ( I don't remember which one. ) In the end view, there are always extra lines showing extending from the branch of the tee.
I can hide the lines, but that then hides the edge lines of a plate welded to the tee branch. Files are attached
Files and more information is already posted on MCADForums:

I have a problem in my ucs icon when i am drawing/rotating and dimensioning my drawing.. the ucs turns to have extra lines and even the dimensions has unnecessary lines. how am i suppose to fix this
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am using 2013 and have a few 3D objects in the modeling space that I am using view base to put different views of each into the paper space. When I do this and export to PDF, I get an extra green line from the paper space. I have deleted and replaced the view and have tried different views with varying sucess.
Some pieces simply need a different view, however I have one that will not go away. The different view does really solve the problem either because I need the view with the problem. I have attached a picture of the issue, but it is just a chunk to protect information that I cannot share. The gray in the drawing is the part, the green line should not be there. The green line only shows up on the PDF, not in modeling space or paper space.
Is there a way to remove the extra sash lines which, in plan, are meant to represent the sash below the cut plane? I want to keep the sash "nub" at adjacent to the frame, but remove the lines which run parallel to the glass.
See attached pdf for detail of what I'm referring to.
When I use the built-in dwg to PDF for publishing multiable layout tabs I somtimes get extra and/or missing lines and objects on the PDF. When in model space no extra lines a present or missing. Everything is where it need to be. Same goes when a review the drawing in layout before I publish to PDF.
When I publish to paper its fine, no problems.
ACA 2011...what the best way was to add rafter tails to a roof slab. Someone responded (and even attached a dwg) of a way to do it with a curtain wall. I'm not very well versed in curtain walls, though I get around okay with door & window assemblies, and they seem similar, I just don't really know what differentiates them within the program. That aside, any way to create exposed rafter tails more efficiently than arraying mass elements?

View 2 Replies View RelatedOpen SKS.iam which is suppose to be empty, but for some reason asks for the 14020-111.iam file. Once it opens go to the BOM and you will see 24 of the same part in the BOM. If you derive the SKS.iam you will see those 24 parts listed and you will even see them. Yet when you go back to the base SKS.iam they are not visible in the browser or the windows graphic area. I want to add a extra section on to the top of the Volute neck so i can keep a perfect shaped circle for the flange i will place on top.How can i add the extra section that retains the perfect circle and also flat across the top for a flange i will place on top..Using Inventor 2012
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have tried to do a lofted flange. It works, but there is an extra bend that I don't understand why it is there. The bends, I would assume, should be symmetrical but they are not. I have attached the part.

I am populating iProperty "Description" field using expressions from the custom fields. These custom fields are exported from the parameters.
Is there a way of typing in extra plain text into the field onto the end of the expression without losing the expression formula?

Is there any way to make 2 to sketch lines instead of floating lines so that I can dimension them?
For example, if I have a part that can change lengths and I need to print off a new drawing, it would be good if I could say that the lines were a set distance from each end of the part or some features of the part.
Then I could update the part length, then just open the part drawing and not have to adjust anything.
I am new to Inventor after using Unigraphics for a while and finding the modelling side very similar so no problems there. the problems are starting when i am producing drawings.
I am trying to manually break a dimension extension line around an inserted symbol ( surface finish symbol) and can't figure this out. I have noticed that Inventor automatically break dimensions round other dimensions but is there a way to add a manual break?
Also is there a way to break a center-line round dimension text? i have added a picture with the problem.
I'm using Inventor 2011 and I can't figure out how to set my dimension settings so it breaks the dimension extension lines automatically when crossing over other dimension extension lines. I saw that others say it just happens, but it is not "just happening" for me. how to set my dimensions so when dimension lines cross each other one of them automatically breaks?

I recently installed the SketchUp plugin in the hope that I would be able to easily and effectively transfer SketchUp models into AutoCAD and subsequently into Revit.
However, upon importing the SketchUp model, extra wireframe is added to the flat surfaces from vertex to vertex. This does not affect the CAD model as such as it appears that these lines are necessary for CAD to create the surfaces.
Though when imported into Revit from CAD, these surfaces are unable to be processed and the model becomes incomplete, also failing to identify the windows and doors that had been previously identified as the model had been taken from Revit, through CAD and to SketchUp with no problems and then all the way back again.
What is the next step of importing it back to Revit as I am unsure how to retain its levels (i.e Floor plans).
how to fix this triangulations. Adding extra breaklines does not seem to fix the issue.

We have a template that opens with extra Prospector items. For example, we have point groups Design Points, Design Points.1, Design Points.2, etc etc. See attached image. We have gone into the template and deleted all of the duplicate items.
When we use the template, it creates all of these duplicate things again and the template has the items again.how to permanently remove these items?
With QP activated, if I select an object (say an alignment or profile view) on the screen and want to pick its GRIP, I have to click the screen FIRST to get focus back to the drawing window (so two clicks). The same applies to the contextual Ribbon, it takes two clicks to 'press' a ribbon button if QP is activated.
