View 2 RepliesThe command to JOIN two overlapping anchor points as a SMOOTH join is not working (at least, on Mac).
"The join option only results in a corner join regardless of whether you select anchor points to join or the entire path. However, for overlapping anchor points, if you want the option to select a smooth or corner join, then use Ctrl+Shift+Alt+J (Windows) or Cmd+Shift+Option+J (Mac OS)."
Version of the CHSPACE.lsp command that has a "copy" option like the one from Intellicad? This version makes a copy of the selected objects first then moves them into the space you want, leaving the original objects alone in their original space.

For me I prefer to switch the this setting to be “Off”The default setting of the “default mode” is “shortcut menu”. For me I prefer to switch this setting to be “repeat last command” ( I go to options>>user preferences”>>Windows standard behavior>>Right click customization>> default mode>>repeat last command. Is there a way to save these settings on the file such that if we open this file in another computer then we don't need to set them again?
In other words, why aren't the “Default settings” “Option settings” saved on the file the same way the “Drafting Settings: like sanps, Osanps” are?
I am following the U-Tube exercise called "Emergency Light (Cabinet) volume 1". I am at time stamp 1 hour 26 minutes, exactly.
In the video they use a Loft command in order to cut a shape out of two sketches numbered 10 & 11. I have been copying exactly and am having difficulty at this stage of the model.
Is there any reason why I am managing to use the Loft command earlier perfectly but not at this point.
the use of the LOFT command with circular sections along a polyline path?

How can i interact with the source code of LOFT command.Especially, I'd like to inform me, about the method that Loft commad uses in order to draw a solid. I suppose that the two sketches I want to intersect, are close enough, thus the programm, can't generate the geometry...
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a bunch of points that I am trying to turn into a solid object. I am doing this by using the 3D poly command and then LOFT, UNION and CONVTOSOLID. this has previously worked well, but this time when I use the LOFT command it does not produce a 'closed' surface, but rather a grid like surface which wont convert to a solid. Are there different settings for the LOFT command, and if so, How do I change them to produce a closed surface?

How can i join two objects that aren't touching each other
OBJECTS.jpg
I am trying to loft 4 circles onto a straight path it seems as if they are turning somewhere in the middle, and the shape ends up looking like several 8:s stacked on top of each other instead of the cone-like shape I'm after.
I've tried aligning the first vertices with the "make first" command, but it didn't work. If I go to subobject level of the lofted object and choose Shape > Compare (as I read in some thread I should..), the pop-up window shows nothing (blank, with the pointer in the middle, doesn't matter how much I zoom).
I Wonder if it's possible, with a setting or something like this, to make the join command work only on lines or polylines that had the same linetype?
View 3 Replies View RelatedDo you need to use the join command on an object before making it into a dynamic block? There is a major bug with CorelCAD LOFT command - when used with 3D polyline objects, it fails and errors out with the following error:
Specify cross-sections in lofting order»1 found, 2 totalSpecify cross-sections in lofting order»Selected cross-section is not a valid type.
The workaround is to set the CCS to the plane of the 3D polyline object and then use 2D polylines to recreate it, move the 2D version, delete the 3D version, Align the 2D version with where the 3D version came from and then repeat the LOFT command.
Has been logged with Graebert under ticket: #12458
To repeat the error, see the test file. There are two radially aligned triangles in each set. The set on the left are 3D polyline. The set on the right are 2D polyline. Attempting to loft the set on the left will cause the error.
Both large and small triangles are respectively co-planar.
I am having multiple problems creating a loft. Firstly, it seems as if the "loft" command remembers and uses history of the objects to be lofted, which in my case meant that instead of lofting the scaled down (correct) version of a shape, it insisted on lofting the former, out-of-scale version. It would be great to know if there's a more conveniant workaround to this than redrawing the shapes (as I ended up doing).
Secondly - and this is where I'm stuck now - 3ds will not let me do a loft with the new, redrawn shapes. The loft accepts two of the shapes, but will not let me select the remaining three, claiming that "the shape has a different number of curves than others in the Loft". My question is thus: What should I do to be able to see and edit the number of curves in the shape, so that my Loft will be valid?
I'm going to be creating a 3d visualization for an existing network of gold mining tunnels and ore veins. What I have are scans of 2d hand drawn pages showing mining tunnels and ore veins. There are a couple hundred of these, each representing a 100' thick slice which get progreessively deeper. My intent is to trace these in autocad and stack them up, create solids, import them into 3ds max. One issue is that the ore veins are in some cases continuous from level to level so I'm thinking of using polylines and the loft command to connect the veins between levels.
how to model this efficiently so the import into 3ds max goes smoothly. Or is there an easier way than the acad loft command to model the veins within 3DSMax?
what is the difference btwn using the join icon and joining lines using the pedit command?
View 5 Replies View RelatedAs you can see, the nature of my model forbids me from making a 3D solid using LOFT.
The top surface is consisted of 3D polyline and arc, which if "joined" will be become a spline.
The bottom surface can easily be joined into polyline.
If I loft the top and bottom, it'll only give me a LOFTED Surface, which is not I want (wanted a 3D solid).
I'm using Autocad 2011 and trying to convert a 2D drawing into 3D using a Loft tool. However, I'm experiencing a bit of a problem. The Loft tool is creating an extra line between the two objects which messes up part of the design. I'm usind Solid and Ruled settings of the Loft tool and the two object I'm trying to join were created out of number of polylines which then were converted into singular poline using Edit Polyline tool.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm using AutoCAD 2011. Lately I'm having lots of trouble getting LWPOLYLINES to join, end-to-end. They were all created with the same UCS on elevation zero. Some are arcs, and some are straight segments. I've used PEDIT, MPEDIT, JOIN. Nothing works. They are definitely end-to-end.

View 1 Replies View RelatedWith Add SHP connection, I added The SHP and created a JOIN with an ODBC connection access database table on a Common Column.
Is it possible that I can save it in that format itself so that I can use it later, i.e. the SHP file will have the additional columns after the JOIN.
i have already made the pattern in 3d, but its made up of a whole bunch of different objects, what i need to do is to join them all together to make a seamless one piece. i read through the tutorials, the explain that i have to select all the objects that need joining, then click the "join" button under the modify tab. I did this but still see the seams.

Why the xclipframe command is always set at option 2
When i open a drawing i use the xclipframe command and hit option 0 I save and close the drawing. When i reopen the drawing the xclipframe is the set back to option 2.

if you care to not click-through, the problem is that certain commands (not all of them) simply do not disply in the command line. so the MOVE command for example looks like this:
NORMAL:
Command: _move
Select objects:
NOW:
Command:
Select objects:
same with QSAVE and who knows how many others.
Drawing: line, arc, line.
arc was defined with line's end points and radius, so I'm positive that this drawing is continuous.
Steps I take:
pedit
click

y
j
Select objects: 1 found
Select objects: 1 found, 2 total [enter]
Select objects:
0 segments added to polyline
[enter]
