I have a drawing & when I pan I can see a lot of extra information hidden by wipeouts.
Any easy way to erase all of that & leave what I can see, without panning, intact?
When I try to copyclip what I can see it grabs everything including the hidden objects.
Unfortunately whoever did the drawing didn't put all the hidden info on one layer.
I still trying to get 2012 to configured like our previous version. Howcver, I noticed something odd. In several of our drawings I covered some objects with a wipeout. I then sent to the dwg to pdf driver, then printed the pdf. On screen the objects are covered, in the pdf on screen the objects are covered, but in the actual print from the pdf some of the objects are faintly visible. with the previous 2010 version of AC we used. The files are the same and the printer is the same.
View 9 Replies View RelatedIn 2008, never had this issue.Just dumb, circles, and lines in a view port, that have hidden or center linetyoes assigned to them. When we go to plot using legacy hidden (this new for 2012?) the plot comes out with continuous lines. These are not solids. Just ordinary line entities.Now, when I change the shadeplot to "hidden" the linetype is shown correctly, but now my entities are coloured, when I just want my drawing to be black and white (going to PDF), even though all of the colours in the pen style are set to "Black".
Has this changed? Is there a new variable introduced?
I am working with a situation that requires me to block some lines underneath some text, and can't use a background mask because the text is located within a block. I tried to use wipeout, but I don't want the boundries of the wipeout to plot. Is there a way to set the boundries to not plot? I have tried changing the color of my wipeout object to 255, but for some reason I was unable to get that to work (I think that has to do with how my company uses plot styles to handle colors).

View 7 Replies View RelatedMy modelspace is showing thru my wipeouts... But the wipeouts are active and I have remade the viewports with the same result. I've used draw order with no change. And here's the kicker. It (the Wipeout) hides the viewport frame, but not the actual model space material being shown thru the viewport. It remains visible.

These unwanted objects remains even after purging the drawing and we are unable to delete at our end as we cannot see them because there is no such command like visible in AutoCAD.
View 5 Replies View RelatedIt appears when I copy a folder of photos up to a server, it's also copying some hidden files that nobody can do anything with, causing problems. For instance, say my folder name is Photos, I just drag and drop the entire Photos folder onto the server. But if inside Photos i have a dog.jpg and cat.jpg file, there are also hidden files names ._dog.jpg and ._cat.jpg. it's those two hidden files that are causing problems when people go to work with that folder.is it something in OSX I need to change?

Is there any option with wipeout to turn the continuous lines into dotted lines instead of hiding the object? I have been working on one staircase block, i want to show half block as a dotted lines.. is there any way to do that without going in to the block edit and change? thats why am looking for wipeout mask option.
I have an assembly with some hidden solids in which are turned to invisible in both part and assembly but they show on the drawing.

I am designing furniture in 3D and want to view the object at SE Isometric, then rotate an additional 18 degrees, then take a screenshot that will basically give me a block that is a line drawing of the object with lines hidden. This is a question with two parts:
#1: How do I rotate from SE Isometric 18 degrees to get the view angle I want?
#2: How do I take a screenshot of the object that will produce a block with hidden lines?
There are two seperate commands for each of these, I just can't remember what they are.
Attached is a picture of the final product I'm looking for.

In my model i need to display in 3D. When i change the visual style from 2D Wireframe to 3D Hidden nothing is changing.
Its not a problem with the software as if i draw a cube in the model this changes but my model still does not.
Also the model is imported from Tekla Structures in the same way as the 20 a week and this is the only one which i have had problems with.
I have a series of drawings and am unable to make some block text for risers not appear hidden.If I paste the block into another drawing I get the text to appear but then when I try to bring back into this drawing it becomes hidden.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm drawing objects (walls, platforms, etc.) in 3d made up primarily of extruded polygons. I want to be able to plot these objects in a way that hides all of the lines which are obscured by other objects. Currently I have my viewports set up with a 2D Wireframe visual style and a Hidden shade plot. This isn't working for me. I'm still getting all of the lines in the drawing visible no matter what.
Here's the strange thing: It seems to work perfectly fine in plan view, but not in front view. Also, it's worked fine in the past. It seems that the problem has gotten progressively worse over the past year or so.
I'm using AutoCAD 2008.
where various icons on your palettes just disappear? the function is still there, but no image. attached is an example where the "Add", "Delete" etc icons have gone. other times the on/off freeze/thaw images will be gone.

View 3 Replies View RelatedToday I noticed 6 or 7 linetypes that have appeared in every drawing I open and cannot be deleted.
They include "Amzigzag" " Amconstr" "ACISOTGB" and others.
If I delete everytjing in my drawing and purge the linetypes are still there. They even appear if I load old drawings that din't have these linetypes initially.

1. AutoCAD 2011, new user & new install. I’m going throught the tutorials and have lost ability to repeat past ability to do tasks. One being to highlight an object and then delete using the Delete key. Second example being lost is to left click a drawn line and then to hit delete. Is this a setup problem?

My some autocad files were slowed down. For example i wait about 10 seconds when i edit a text.
Afterwards i see too many text styles in format/text styles command. i want to delete text styles but i can't.
it says "style in use, can't be deleted". I dont know where these text styles come from. Other files when they are infected with the virus, such as. Also have $ signs in text style names.
I am running AutoCAD 2011 on Windows 7 via BootCamp. The Delete Key does not function to erase lines. I have set Pickfirst to 1 and ensured Noun/Verb is checked on. I have tried pressing just the Delete key and also FN Delete, which is the correct combination for Delete on the MacBook Pro keyboard.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI've got a user that when he clicks on an item to highlight it, he can't drag it anywhere, can't copy and paste it, and can't delete it. I've uninstalled and resinstalled the application more than once. After an uninstall, I went through all directories and deleted all remaining files and folders that had either Autodesk or AutoCAD in the name and spent 1 1/2 hrs sifting through the registry and eliminating all Autodesk and AutoCAD entries. I then reinstalled the application (AutoCAD 2010), and the user is still having the same issues.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI just downloaded AutoCAD 2012 on my imac running on my Parallels system, meaning I have the Windows version or AutoCAD 2012 running on parallels. (Because there are too many problems with AutoCAD for mac).
There is one problem however, I cannot delete by using 'backspace' on my mac keyboard. I always have to right click the selected object and go to erase. Does there exist a keyboard shortcut for erase?
