My some autocad files were slowed down. For example i wait about 10 seconds when i edit a text.
Afterwards i see too many text styles in format/text styles command. i want to delete text styles but i can't.
it says "style in use, can't be deleted". I dont know where these text styles come from. Other files when they are infected with the virus, such as. Also have $ signs in text style names.
if i have a size indicated in my text style and i change the size from the style controls, updating the style, should all the instances not change to comply? This is how styles work in other software and how I intuit controlling this parameter.

In LT it is correct (left hand image), both styles are STANDARD font but in the full version (right hand image) the suffix text style is ROMANS.
We have a problem in our office. In some of our drawings we keep getting a lot of unwanted linetypes and text styles. Nobody is sure where they originated.

Same applies with the text styles.
When I purge a drawing, the text styles are not a selectable option (as if there are no purgeable text styles). if i use (-purge), it will purge the unused text styles. I can also go into the Styles dialog box and delete the styles. It happens in all drawings and nobody else in the dept has the problem. I can't find any settings that would exclude any items from the purge dialog box as well. Autocad 2012? windows 7 64 bit.

Now that SP2 is out and we can delete all in one sweep, is it possible to create a macro that would automatically delete all color styles as soon as any file is open? I never use that feature and would gladly pay for such a macro.

When you have an annotative object set for a number of different scales, is there a way to turn off the shadow when you mouse over it showing a shadow view of the different scales?
View 3 Replies View RelatedThe problem seems very simple. My 'conceptual' or any other visual style viewports plot pixelated, while the legacy wireframe plots perfect. It pixelates everything, linework, edges, fonts. Of course I could just use wireframe, but then what is the point of visual styles I can't use?
In the same drawing with more than one viewport, the viewport with any visual style other than wireframe will mess up while the other one is fine. I have tried every printer, pdf printer, and all the dpi settings I can get ahold of.
Every time I purge my drawing several plot styles show to be deleted. I don't reconize them, one I see offten is called Invisible ink. I started to try to use it to see what its about. I can't seem to find the right track and use this plot style.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to set the plot styles to use specific linetypes for given colors. The theory is that using adaptive linetypes, then lines that are color 50 for example will always display dashed regardless of the length. This seems to work great, except that I'm not happy with the linetype scale (dashes plot too long). Obviously changing linetypescale does not work because adaptive is turned on. So the only solution I could think of was to change the actual linetype definition, but the acad.lin file does not seem to be related to the linetypes shown in the CTB editor (or is it?). How to change the linetype definitions that are linked to the ctb style?

I place a multi leader (arrow and text not seperate mtext) then decided to change it to a different leader style let's say from ML48 to ML96. The problem happens when I try to change it again. It doesn't update to my new multi leader style. Example....from ML96 back to ML48 or any other style. It seems like I only get one opportunity to apply a different style.

Normally all three come in fine, occasionally only two will come in. I have a drawing that I am trying to insert my table styles into and none of them are inserting! Right now, we use ones that have been carried over in projects from previous employers, and they are driving me nuts. Each layout set default printing parameters, so as "Laser b/n.pc3," as the paper size "A4" scale "Scale to Fit", and plot style "Schemi.ctb", etc. ..
Is there a way to create a macro (a field unknown to me) or something similar, to automatically change in all the default layout, for example, the printer "Colori.pc3" and the print style in "Schemi_colori.ctb "?
where various icons on your palettes just disappear? the function is still there, but no image. attached is an example where the "Add", "Delete" etc icons have gone. other times the on/off freeze/thaw images will be gone.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI can't find information for how a block's text is utilized in a style. Here are some details. I have a unitless block with a non annotative text size of 10. This block is part of a style with a size 'use drawing scale' of .12. At 40 scale, it inserts at 4.8 size. If I change the text size to 8 it inserts at 4.8. If I hcange the text size to 5, it inserts at 3.
My question is how are the annotation scale, block text size, and style insert size tied together? OR are there other variables influencing the scaling? I have attached a screen shot of some of my unofficial tests.

I just upgraded from AutoCAD LT 2005 to AutoCAD LT 2012. I commonly used a font that, on the 2005 version, was called a1.shx. It has been replaced, on the 2012 version, with archstyl.shx. When I go to "Manage Text Styles", under the "Font Name" there is a yellow triangle with an exclamation point in it before the font name "archstyl.shx". I am assuming this means that the font is not currently available on my system because it is replaced with the simplex.shx (which I read was the default alternate font under "substitute fonts" in the users guide). There is not a font style on my current system that suffices as a replacement to the font I used on the 2005 version of AutoCAD LT. Is there anyway to import the old font to AutoCAD 2012? Is there a way to put new fonts on my system so that I can find an adequate replacement?

I've found nearly everything I need to draw my tables, but cannot find how to set the text styles for the Title, Header and Data cells.
There must be a way, but it is hidden under an obscure method or property title which I can't identify or find on the internet or in the Object Browser.
How do I change the text style for one layer only? I already have some text in one font on a layer but now I want to create lables in a different font but when I change the text style while that layer is active both layers change.

Today I noticed 6 or 7 linetypes that have appeared in every drawing I open and cannot be deleted.
They include "Amzigzag" " Amconstr" "ACISOTGB" and others.
If I delete everytjing in my drawing and purge the linetypes are still there. They even appear if I load old drawings that din't have these linetypes initially.

I have a drawing & when I pan I can see a lot of extra information hidden by wipeouts.
Any easy way to erase all of that & leave what I can see, without panning, intact?
When I try to copyclip what I can see it grabs everything including the hidden objects.
Unfortunately whoever did the drawing didn't put all the hidden info on one layer.
1. AutoCAD 2011, new user & new install. I’m going throught the tutorials and have lost ability to repeat past ability to do tasks. One being to highlight an object and then delete using the Delete key. Second example being lost is to left click a drawn line and then to hit delete. Is this a setup problem?
