Is there a way to automatically display the dimension of lines or objects as you draw them? I looked at dimensional constraints, but AutoConstrain doesn't seem to have an option to automatically apply dimensional constraints....right?
How can I print a dimension with its arrows but without it's dimension lines?
For example--I draw a rectangle and draw a horizontal dimension across the center of the rectangal. Then I flip the arrows and drag the number to the left outside of the rectangal. I want arrows facing inward from the left and right and the number out to the left. I don't want a line stretched across the center of the rectangal.

I just got a new job with AutoCAD 2011. In the previous version (was using 2008 beore), I could select all lines, dimensions hatches, and then change the dimension style. But with this new version, as soon as I select anything that is not a dimension, like a hatch pattern or a regular line, I can't change the dimension style anymore. Is there anyway to change this back to how it was?

View 7 Replies View RelatedI have a rather weird problem. I am using .dxf files as digital overlays on a new optical comparator we recently purchased. The problem is, the cad files we used to create our old mylar overlays is both 3d and comprised of text/curves/dimensions. I figured out the flattening and turning the text into lines and curves, but I cannot find a method to change the dimension graphics (profile boxes, length dimensions, and angle dimensions) into lines and curves.
When I import them into the comparator program only the lines and curves can be displayed on the comparator. Is there any way to flatten and make all of the dimension graphics lines and curves?
I am currently using AutoCAD 2010. I'm placing some length dimensions on partial sections of a circle and the arc dimension comes straight out from the chosen points as a dimension of a flat line does. I would like it to look like an angular dimension without having to use a text override. Is there any way to change that to where the placed dimension lines follows the edges of the section instead of coming straight out?

My program freezes up for a couple of seconds each time, to scan the drawing. So a task that should take 10-15 minute is turning into 25-30 minutes nightmare. Every selection I make there will appear a progress bar and the words "Scanning the drawings..." in the bottom left hand corner of the screen. Is there some setting somewhere i can turn this scanning feature off? Is this issue linked to the layer states?

I'm inserting dimensions and the tics keep coming out huge and not on the dimension line, in fact there's one on either side 20 ft out. If I change the drawing scale in the tab at a the bottom the tics get smaller and closer in, but they are still off the dimension string by a long shot.

Changing the contour flange's length will affect the driven dimension which can be found in sketch5 under cut1.

New to this video editing game, just have a question regarding 4.3 and 16.9. i have a Canon XM2 which has a setting in the menu for 16.9 wide screen format. When this is selected on the camera the view finder shows a distored image (squshed). I have also found a setting that when 16.9 is turned off you can display 2 horizontal lines on the display. my question is am i better off shooting footage with the 16.9 turned off on the camera and then using Videostudio pro x4 to create the 16.9 format(if this can be done).

View 5 Replies View RelatedI've inherited a dozen heavily detailed drawings only they have been drawn freehand and do not conform to any snap mode or grid. Unfortunately the objects are not all out by a certain amount, so to adjust the entire drawing to conform to the nearest snap point I need to pretty much go through every single object and snap it to the nearest point, which will take weeks.
I've googled around a bit and have found a lisp that may potentially work however I'm running 2004 LT so therefore can't test this lisp until I find someone with a full version.
I'm sure I can find someone with a full copy of Autocad even if it means borrowing their computer just to re-align the objects. I've yet to test out the lisp I found [URL] .... although this lisp seems to suggest it will work with text objects, unfortunately my drawings include a range of objects including text, rectangles, plines etc.
I've taken a look at DotSoft's 'ToolPac' and will buy it if needed as it will apparently align all objects to the nearest snap, but I thought I'd check to see if there was any other easier/cheaper ways of doing it first.
It is the way we scale 1 / 100 the size of our ِDimension, the scale to 1 / 500 to change the size of the enterprise to automatically change the scale.
This method is applicable in AutoCAD, but I could not find the software.
In my company we are just beginning to use Civil 3D and we are experimenting with different features and trying to compete with Microstation. A big chunk of our time (80% more or less) goes into labeling lines and objects. I sat down with a MicroStation guru and they showed me how MicroStation automatically creates labels throughout different viewports and it has a feature to prevent them from overlapping.
