Is there a command that would break lines at intersections automatically?
I know there is such a command in autocad map 3D, but is there a way to do it in LT? With a macro?
I have attached a picture of the parcels that I like to break at each intersection has an example.
Then I go on to use the OVERKILL command which works very well.
I used the "break" command to split some lines into segments, but now I can not join them again using PEDIT. They are all on the same elevation. What is preventing me from joining them? I've attached the file in question, I'm trying to join the red (metal layer) lines.

I need to divide a big region on lines intersections. imagine that you create a region around a chess table and break the region so you get each square as a new region.
I can't use array because the sub-regions aren't regular. I need this divided regions to export a DXF file to a Finite elements program.
I need a easy way to create a lot of small regions, or divide a big region in lines intersections, or a fast way to pick points inside objects.
Its like that:
imagine that you do 100 horizontal lines and then 100 vertical lines. Now you have 10.000 squares. i need a fast way to make a region in each one of then.
So its too much trouble to pick points inside each one of then. i need to divide a big region or a fast way to create Plines or objects with the little squares. And i cant use array because they aren t regular squares.
Its something that i do often, its not a one time thing. This is necessary in structure analysis modeling, i export this dwg to a dxf file, that i use on a finite element program.
i never did a lisp before.
I cant start drawing an object from anywhere else( ie. inside a grid) except form the points where grid lines intersect. How do i go back to old system? I need to get some work done fast.

How can I use one "line break" in the same command on iLogic ?
For a simple doubt, a simple sample :
MessageBox.Show("Message blabla blablablabla blablablabla", "Title")
In this case, how could i divide the message in 3 lines in the messagebox ?
actually this would work for me in other case too, creating a text with more than one line, instead of creat many text boxes.

Autocad2008 has the Break, Break at Point, and Dimension Break tools. There may be other variations of the break command, but I'm not able to fined a way to quickly use any of these commands to create a very simple single break point on a single segmented line at an unequal segment. I'm surprised Break at Point doesn't fit the billet.
Example:
I've drawn vertical line 10 units long. I would like to place a single break point at 7.956 units from either endpointe of that very same line. This is not a polyline. When selected it is depicted as a line with two equal segments.
The purpose of the break is so that I can intersect a horizontal line at 7.956 units located on the vertical line.
It seems to me that with all of the break tools available, one of them should be able to accomplish this simple task on the fly. Even most basic CAD programs such as Draft It, has a break tool that performs this function easily and quickly with one mouse click and one single text box entry.
Also, the fastest way I have found to accomplish this task is to simply draw another vertical line 7.956 units over the original vertical line, and that allows me to attach my horizontal line at 0 or 180 degrees from the vertical 7.956 units. I then go back and delete the second vertical line.
Why the break at point command is different when I write it than when I click on it? I mean, when I use the command by redoing it with the spacebar or with the keyboard shortcut, the line that I want to break is not only break at a single point but from this point to the middle of the line…

break a polyline into two separate polylines. How can I get a selection set with two separate polylines?
Putting in a simple berm crest, and the triangles skip right over a certain section. Swap edge does nothing and adding points seems to make things worse. I have been able to fix this problem before, but only by deleting my surface and then putting all the pieces back in at once. Then it's perfect.
I think part of the problem may be that the "Contour help" I put in at the blue major contours is screwing things up.I have had the same issue when putting in down-slope channels as well.
Who can tell me if Break lines in Inventor 2012 will be constrainable? I mean come on... All the new fancy stuff Inventor gets every year is great but when will the simple things get done?

I have a part that when I adjust its length additional fabs are needed. Now in my idw for this part I want to secure the break lines on the part at a exact distance from the end / each other to display these fabs. Is there a way to parameterize or set the break lines so they adapt to the change in length and move accordingly?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI am running Autocad Civil 3D 2012. I created a figure prefix database that our surveyors were familiar when coding in the field. It is a numeric code list. I received a survey last week that had 6 break lines coded in the point file. Only one of the 6 acts as a break line.
All break lines start and stop with the right line work commands but they fail to break crossing triangle legs. I've checked everything I can think of and the setup looks correct . The only difference between the one break line that works and the others is that break line has sequential point numbers while the other break line codes are scattered throughout the point file.
does Inventor offers any option to break geometry lines in drawing behind the text (e.g. notes and dimensions)? I tried this in IV 2009 as well as in IV 2011, but the result is the same in both version, shown on first image. The text is sometimes difficult to read when it is crossed with geometry lines.

a routine that has the option to break vertical or break horizontal, depending on the option, the lines that cross either the horizontal or vertical (again, depending on the option) a specified distance (say .05) on either side of the line you wanted to keep. So if I choose BREAKH, the vertical lines that I choose would break any horizontal lines that cross them. Same applies to BREAKV. Hopefully I communicated clearly enough.

Tried send to front/back, copying, inserting new. My other masking regions will still work as they are supposed to, but this break line does not.

View 4 Replies View RelatedWe have our options set to Auto Publish on Save (Autocad 2011). On some of our stations, the PDF will pop up automatically. This is what we WANT to happen. On other stations, the pdf has to be found and then opened to make sure it is correct. (this step, which is apparently way to difficult for some people, is not being performed, leading to extra work/time later to complete the project) I had everyone ensure their DWGtoPDF.pc3 custom properties was set to "open in PDF viewer when done" (and when they do a straight plot, it does come right up) It just wont do it when its thru Auto Publish. Mine is one of them that comes up just fine....I have looked at every setting I have and tried to compare with theirs, but it all looks the same.
