As the topic states, I would like to assign hotkeys to mouse buttons. I attempted to do so, but when I use a mouse button for a hotkey it does not register within the customize user interface menu.

I'd like to assign hotkeys for 10 or twelve different Tools I've customized and preset, including smudge, brush (various), selection, etc... I'd like to do this without using and action since they have limited assignable keys (F keys), and it would be great if they were centered around asdf keys.
The best I've been able to come up with is to have the tools panel open, press a hotkey and bring up a custom SET of presets, but this still doesn't make the current tool a specific tool, I still have to select from the panel.
Is this possible in CS5 or CS6?
I have a G300 9-button mouse from Logitech and I would like to assign some frequently used commands to each button, is there any way to do this.

In order to use those marking menus, I have to hold down the extra button and then left-click. Is there a way I can set up the marking menus to open without left-clicking?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have acad 13 installed on an asus laptop. I wanted to do some serious work last night so I plugged in the mouse to the usb port. Doing my usual quick clicking, anytime i was "inside the dwg" like say select or pick a point on the screen, i needed a second pick to do anything. Same with rt click for return. picking a menu item or dropdown or button works fine, "outside the dwg".
Noticed that a slow deliberate click seems to work.I reloaded the asus mouse driver, no dice.I took a 10 year logitech old mouse out, same problem.This problem does not occur using the pointing/click device built into the laptop.Is there something that is looking at the duration of my click in acad? in asus computer ?
I recently had to reinstall LR 4.2 due to a hard drive failure. Previously, I could cycle through my photos by using the forward or reverse buttons on the side ofmy Microsoft mouse. Now I cannot. How can I get LR to respond again? I have set the mouse to 'enable program specific settings'
View 1 Replies View RelatedI purchased an Inland rf 5 button mouse to use for the F4 rotate and F5 view return. The three programmable buttons work in LT and other programs, but not in inventor 5.3. Is there a setting I am missing? I have the latest driver for the mouse installed and as I said it works well in other software.
The mouse vendor says it's Inventor, not the mouse.
I have a Logitech M510 wireless mouse, and it works fine for everything, Firefox horizontally scrolls just fine with the tilt-wheel, and the forward and backward buttons on the mouse function as well. But not in GIMP.
I'm running an HP laptop with Windows 7, and GIMP 2.8.
I tried binding brush size decrease/increase to left/right scroll in the mouse wheel input and nothing happens. Then I restarted GIMP from a terminal with --verbose and told the wheel input to dump events and the only ones printed were scroll up/down. Curious, I enabled the dump for the mouse buttons input as well, and the back/previous buttons also don't generate events.
Because it works fine in other applications and because it generates no events in GIMP
I have two menus that I use often and I would like to add them to my mouse buttons. Attached is a picture of the two menus I like and the two buttons. The Shift + Click has the correct menu already (Osnap menu2) my problem is adding my custom menu to the CTRL + Click doesn't work. I labeled Osnap Menu 1 and 2, 1 being the custom menu I have use in the past and 2 being the default osnap menu that comes with the cui file. How to get the second button to read my menu rather than both read the same osnap 2 menu?

I don't want it highlighting the features automatically. I want it to highlight once I click over a feature. My colleagues and I are very distraught by this feature, and will be discontinuing our use of your products that do not allow us to turn this feature off. I'm not sure why you'd want to weed your customer base like this, assuming that I can't turn this option off from the research I've done pouring through the hundreds of complaints related to this issue. I haven't been able to find any posts recently, or regarding Inventor 2013 specificially on this issue, so I was hoping this version had the option of turning it off. Does any of Autodesk's software, such as AutoCAD, have the option of turning it off?

I worked out that it was an error from capture x5 and when I loaded that to change the hotkey, no matter which one I picked it popped up the same error when trying to capture.
I even tried some ridiculous ones like Ctrl+Alt+[Letter] and still got the error.This is running on a Windows 7 64 bit computer with Corel SP3 installed
I can't seem to be able reassign the hotkeys around in Max anymore (no matter how hard I try).I was able to create a Quad for Shift+Z, but when I try it reassigning the same Quad or a new one on Shift+X or any other letter, it doesn't work for some reason. I tried at this point on ALL the combos, and it seems like Max actively refuses to assign anything to any quad menu.
It seems like after assigning my first new Quad, it doesn't want to do anymore changes

Ive got Photoshop CS, and none of the hotkeys are working, according to the hotkey settings they're all there and should work.. but none of them do.. not even simple things that should work like cut and paste..
View 1 Replies View RelatedBasically at some point or another, maya swaps back to the default hotkey layout. Im not quite sure how or why. Sometimes it takes an hour before the problem arrives, other times minutes. Its not permanent tho, restarting the app will fix it.
I've tried deleting second language, installing keyboard software, searching for alternative pref. files etc., and no, capsLock is not on ^^.
If there is a way to set hotkeys for the steering wheel functions like 'orbit around pivot' and the steering wheel zoom (which is different from the normal zoom).
Using the steering wheel is WAY too slow, so it would be great if it was possible to map these functions to hotkeys.
I just switched from max 2011 to 2012 yesterday. when i am poly modeling, pressing 1-5 changes the selection from vertex, face etc.. , but re-pressing the number key doesn't de-select the sub-object lvl, i have to click the icon to deselect all. Is there some option i'm missing?
View 4 Replies View RelatedToday, I decided to give Maya a try. After I installed the program, I created primitive polygons and played with the program a bit. Everything worked fine. However, I have a few problems. The shortcut keys aren't working. It's valid to say that the problem is occurring because the hotkeys aren't set. I checked the hotkey editor interface and determined that all the hotkeys are set. Consequently, the problem isn't occurring because the hotkeys aren't set. Also, right mouse click doesn't bring up a menu. Is there an option to toggle hotkeys that I don't know about?
View 1 Replies View RelatedSo I open up Gimp after installing the new Maverick operating system on my iMac, and now for whatever reason I can't use my keyboard without it activating the hotkeys.. So If I'm trying to rename a layer or even save my project, the only letters that I can actually type are the ones that have not been assigned a hotkey. Basically I have a bunch of new files named "vvv" or "ggjg" filled with layers that I can't organize by name, which is slowing me down considerably!

The only fix i've found is having to CLICK on the tool and then the hotkeys will work again...it's really annoying - never happened in cs5...

My workstation had a major reset and my customization (retrofit) making my group lock key-combo [Ctrl+Shift+A] as it had been some time in the past is lost. It has been so long since I meddled with setting hotkeys that I cannot remember where that is done. I either need to know how to toggle the group lock in the "out of the box 2012" or where to set my hotkey prefs.
It is said that a fool's voice is known by multitude of words... I'm just writing this stuff instead of saying it outloud... that's my loophole.

I am using Autucad 2012.... F3 is osnap and F8 is ortho by default.
Is there anyway I can assign osnap and ortho to other keys like "3" or "G" ?
if there was a way to disable the hotkeys that PSP7 provides. Occasionally when I'm using PSP, I dont know what I click, but the hotkeys are activated. Its a hassle trying to use the text feature and trying to save the file: windows are popping up and toolbars disappear off the screen. The only solution that I've found was to close the program and open it again. I'd rather avoid the hassle of closing all of my files and opening them again.

Select the combination of Cntl M to get the curves adjustment panel and instead you get the Eyedropper, and the program locks up. "I" also gets the eyedropper, but it doesn't lock up. Select curves through the menu and the same thing happens: eyedropper, all menues grayed out, Cntl Alt Del to kill the CS4 process.
