View 9 Replies View RelatedI am trying to find a way to assign keyboard shortcuts for different selection sets functions/commands.
I failed to find selection set commands in customize user interface menu. seems that they named it in a manner so that people cant find them when they simply look for "selection" or "set" or "create selection set" or "make selection set" .
what I need is:
1. when I select a group of objects I want to make them a selection set with one keyboard shortcut. (to go to the sets menu window and press that "create a selection set" button is too time consuming. I am also aware that just writing a letter to the selection sets dialog creates a set but still I want that shortcut.)
2.select an object and immediately jump to the whole selection set with a keyboard shortcut. or toggle through selection sets.
3.delete the active selection set with one keyboard shortcut.
are these functions available as native commands in customize user interface?should I go looking for a maxscript ?
We've upgraded to 2012 and have noticed a problem when fast clicking on the mouse when using commands.
For example when using the erase command I would usually type E and then quickly right click and left click. However in 2012 it brings up random command instead of erase i.e. sheetset, publish, ucs etc..Bringing up the text window afterwards it shows
Command: e
ERASE
Select objects: Specify opposite corner: *Cancel*
0 found
Select objects: *Cancel*
Command: _PointCloudIndex
The right click and left click are only processed once. This happens on all commands typed on the command line not just erase
As the topic states, I would like to assign hotkeys to mouse buttons. I attempted to do so, but when I use a mouse button for a hotkey it does not register within the customize user interface menu.

Any way to turn off HUD during commands? Seems to pop up right where I want to select geometry. I came across something about it for 2012 not being an option to turn it off but may be one for 2013

is there a 1800 # for questions or just discussion groups?
I am having problems with the selection commands,
Ctrl + A
Deselect all as they seem to be unknown commands? (Quick select in properties does work) I have loaded my own profile (but have used the default profile aswell to check, still no joy)
My computer has started freezing (busy spinning wheel) between each command or button click that I do on AutoCAD. The lag time started at 5 sec between each command, which was annoying, but now has increased on complex drawings to up to 45 seconds between anything I touch. I work with 3D models and it's has gotten to the point where I cannot get any work out. I've turned off and on paging, turned off network connections, turned off properties and nothing seems to work.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI just had to replace my desktop computer, reinstalled AutoCad, set it up using a saved profile, everything was working fine until this morning when I came in and most of my buttons on the toolbars return "Unknown Command". Now even when I type in the command on the command line it doesn't recognize the commands. ie _layfrz Unknown command "LAYFRZ) I've gone in and "repaired" the program, shut down the computer for a full restart, to no avail.

I recently upgraded to Map 3d 2010 to Mapd 3d 2013 and i cannot figure out how to find the commands to insert images or import/export shp files.
I'm running 2013 in "autocad classic" and did so with 2010 as well. 2010 had a menu bar pull down called "Map" where I could insert an image (Image->Insert). There was also in 2010 a toolbar named "Map" that had import shp, export shp and assign coordinate system.
I can't find any of this in 2013. I can't even find the commands in the customization to create my own toolbar. The commands work (mapiinsert, mapimport, mapexport and ADESETCRDSYS) but i can't find them listed anywhere.
Is there a known problem with 2013 undo? I can be in a new drawing issue 2 commands and the undo drop down is populated with 100's of group commands, makinf Ctrl z useless

I use the right mouse click command as my enter. But for the past couple of days when I try to use the move, copy, stretch commands, everytime I go to select a base point - autocad selects the point and then automatically snaps or displaces to a random point off of the screen. I don't know if this has something to do with the right mouse click or not, but I can't figure out why it keeps snapping off screen. If I switch and use the enter key or space bar as enter the problem goes away.
examples:
Command: s STRETCH
Select objects to stretch by crossing-window or crossing-polygon...
Select objects: Specify opposite corner: 13 found
Select objects:
Specify base point or [Displacement] <Displacement>:
Specify displacement <0'-0", 0'-0", 0'-0">:
Command: m MOVE
Select objects: Specify opposite corner: 43 found
Select objects: Specify opposite corner: 27 found (14 duplicate), 56 total
Select objects: Specify opposite corner: 18 found (14 duplicate), 60 total
Select objects: Specify opposite corner: 14 found (4 duplicate), 70 total
Select objects:
Specify base point or [Displacement] <Displacement>:
Specify displacement <0'-0", 0'-0", 0'-0">:
I have loaded the Express Tools as here [URL] .... says. The Express Tools appear in my menu bar like normal, but when i try to do anything with any of them —FLATTEN, for instance— autocad does not recognize any.
I am running on Windows 8, Autocad Student Version language Spanish.
As the title says, when several commands are entered very rapidly, i.e. zoom + extents (z+e), AutoCAD doesn't seem to recognise the second command. I believe there was a command that I came across a while back that adjusted the time delay between entered commands but I am unable to remember or locate it.
Any way to decrease the minimum time between entered commands?
finally I got my express tools ribbon but a lot of commands are missing....REDIR for example....
Don't tell me to reinstall AutoCAD Architcture because I already did it twice!
Don't tell my to select the acetmain.cuix by CUILOAD...because..
I also tried the menuload and the appload command but won't load every single lisp routine
from the express folder...can you imagine how many lisp routines the Express Folder has....
AutoCAD Architecture hasn't got such problems with Express Tools.....
AutoCad sticking on commands like copy selection and move tool, It is running very slow and when saving it says there is no system memory, although my Computer has pleanty of memory (the local disk has over 200GB space)
PC has correct specification for AutoCad 13, and I have never had problems until this morning-

View 9 Replies View RelatedI use a plug-in that prompt me for a keyword. In the 2012 version of AutoCAD I could press key down to get a drop down list on the mouse pointer with all the keywords, see attached image. In the 2014 version I don't get this choice, I only get the possibility to choose keyword from the command line at the bottom. Is the functionality with key down gone in the never versions or can I set a variable so it shows?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI just got a new pc upgrade so I'm walking through everything to see if it all works. Now when I double click my mouse wheel, nothing happens where before it would zoom extents. I'm using a MS Wireless Mouse 5000 with AutoCAD 2013.
I played around with programming the mouse buttons directly, but I couldn't get it to work right. I don't see anything in AutoCAD about a setting for mouse wheel double click. All I see is that it just says that double clicking the mouse wheel should execute the zoom extents command.
We have installed autocad 2013 on windows 7 64bits VM (xendesktop 5.6 on VMWare Hypervisor) and the mouse move is very slow or the cursor stop and move again.
I have tried these tips without success
