I recently had to reinstall LR 4.2 due to a hard drive failure. Previously, I could cycle through my photos by using the forward or reverse buttons on the side ofmy Microsoft mouse. Now I cannot. How can I get LR to respond again? I have set the mouse to 'enable program specific settings'
View 1 RepliesI have a Logitech M510 wireless mouse, and it works fine for everything, Firefox horizontally scrolls just fine with the tilt-wheel, and the forward and backward buttons on the mouse function as well. But not in GIMP.
I'm running an HP laptop with Windows 7, and GIMP 2.8.
I tried binding brush size decrease/increase to left/right scroll in the mouse wheel input and nothing happens. Then I restarted GIMP from a terminal with --verbose and told the wheel input to dump events and the only ones printed were scroll up/down. Curious, I enabled the dump for the mouse buttons input as well, and the back/previous buttons also don't generate events.
Because it works fine in other applications and because it generates no events in GIMP
I have Photoshop 8 my problem is I don't have the toggle buttons back and forward in the Organizer taskbar

I am making some buttons to be used in a regular html setup. Well I have this problem that I dont know how to get around. I have star shapes that I want to be "buttons". Except when you go to click on them, the transparency part of the image is clickable also. How can I make it so the transparent 'box' around the image isnt clickable. I just want the star to be.

Doing my usual quick clicking, anytime i was "inside the dwg" like say select or pick a point on the screen, i needed a second pick to do anything. Same with rt click for return. picking a menu item or dropdown or button works fine, "outside the dwg".
Noticed that a slow deliberate click seems to work.I reloaded the asus mouse driver, no dice.I took a 10 year logitech old mouse out, same problem.This problem does not occur using the pointing/click device built into the laptop.Is there something that is looking at the duration of my click in acad? in asus computer ?
I purchased an Inland rf 5 button mouse to use for the F4 rotate and F5 view return. The three programmable buttons work in LT and other programs, but not in inventor 5.3. Is there a setting I am missing? I have the latest driver for the mouse installed and as I said it works well in other software.
The mouse vendor says it's Inventor, not the mouse.

View 2 Replies View RelatedLR 5.0 on a Mac (tried both Mac Mini, MacBook Pro and MacBook Air - all running 10.8.4).
When I run a slideshow and pause it, the arrows keys to go backward/forward are not working.
Created a "testuser" account (so no LR prefs that have been inherited) and copied over a test catalog. Same issue. Also installed it on work laptop where I've never used LR. So no old "cruft" on account or inherited.
I am not a big fan of the entire way that Lightroom 4.0 hands changes at all and Adobe needs to address this problem because it is just that, an problem. We can use the catchy verbiage "non destructive" because it sounds nice but the fact is that it is cumbersome from a resource perspective and UI perspective. It adds extra steps to the workflow and this in turn takes away from the experience of users. The entire workflow should be reexamined and the code, rewritten.
Lets just look at how Picasa handles this issue. When I click "Save" or better yet "Save All", every picture that I have edited is saved with the changes that I have made to them. A new folder is then created and named "Originals" where I can find the original files that I have edited. That’s it. Plain and simple. My files are intact and I can now go and find them in my well-thought-out folder hierarchy where I can then do what ever I want from emailing to a client to sending them to Flicker, Facebook, Google+ Galleries, where ever I choose. There is no thought put into this process.
Adobe has a lot to learn from this free app. Currently, in Lightroom 4, I have to go back through the 300 pictures I just took, find the 40 that I have edited, then "Ctrl+Click" to select only them, find my folder in my file directory, create a new folder, and finally export a new set of pictures with the changes that I wanted to send out to my client 10 minutes ago.
Both processes achieve the same thing and the things that we all want which are our original files are still intact and untouched and our new files with the changes are in the folder where we found them. The difference is that Adobe chose a much less elegant way to go about this. More advanced? Yes, but sometimes, as and coder will tell you, simpler is faster, safer, and better.
Now, I also stated that from a resource perspective this is also poorly conceived. I am referring to the fact that now I have to maintain a database in which changes are tracked that is always running in the background. It is common knowledge that databases are susceptible to corruption when not properly managed and even the simplest snag in the application, power surge while an I/O process is running, or if my computer hangs up, all my changes are gone. What if I want to switch computers? Do I also need to manually go in several times a month and backup my database to a separate directory?
Will I lose all of my changes that I did not publish? Maybe, maybe not but it is now something else I have to worry about which ultimately takes away from my experience in the application.
Simpler is better and this is one step backwards, not forwards.At a minimum, give me the option to save the changes and don’t manage your users like a child.
I have two menus that I use often and I would like to add them to my mouse buttons. Attached is a picture of the two menus I like and the two buttons. The Shift + Click has the correct menu already (Osnap menu2) my problem is adding my custom menu to the CTRL + Click doesn't work. I labeled Osnap Menu 1 and 2, 1 being the custom menu I have use in the past and 2 being the default osnap menu that comes with the cui file. How to get the second button to read my menu rather than both read the same osnap 2 menu?

View 2 Replies View RelatedVideo files from an iPhone 4S (5.1.1) are transferred onto my Mac (this story is true under 10.7.4 and under 10.8) via PhotoSync. In Finder, the files reflect the correct creation date. On importing the files to Aperture, the correct capture time and date is shown in the metadata. On importing the files to Lightroom 4.1, however, the capture time shows as plus-five hours from when actually shot. I can't think of any setting I might have tripped in Lr to cause this to happen on import (I understand how to manually change the capture time).

Sometimes a client will email me a proof or low res photo of mine asking for a high res version, without the original filename, and sometimes they take a screenshot so my metadata is missing (so can't look up by date, etc). It would be handy to do a LR reverse image search (like Tineye.com, Google image search, etc).
My images are geotagged. With Lightroom 5, I can reverse geocode the images to have Country, State and City in the IPTC fields. However, unless I go in each field, they are greyed. When I want to export the images, I want to use the naming convention Country-State-City-incremental number.jpg for each image, but unless the fields have been edited, lightroom ignore the fileds (and hence put ---1.jpg). How I can confirm the location without having to go to each image and edit the fields?

In our drawing office we use Inventor in a mining materials handling environment. Our output is mainly structural drawings where we require a bill of materials as part of creating a drawing. Whenever I insert a BOM in the drawing environment I get this table which is labeled in a foreign language (it looks like an Eastern European language) and the format is not as per the standard Autodesk installation setup.
How do I either revert back to the standard setup or do a BOM setup from scratch?
We use IV 2013 Professional on Windows 7 64 bit.
The reply buttons simply are not appearing on the screen. Anyway, it is official. After several hours of struggling, I fianally got a technician. My catalogs have been emptied out.

Am i the only one - you auto sync a few shots, then you want to copy settings from one shot to a couple of other ones, then you want to go back to autosyncing, but if you've forgotton to click the button, you're not back on autosync. And then you're like, which ones have, which ones haven't etc.
And the reverse is worst .. Geez, like now you've got tons and tons of shots all with the wrong settings...Don't they have photographers in Adobe who use this thing? Or am i unique, in that some settings i want to copy, some i want to auto sync?

I don't want it highlighting the features automatically. I want it to highlight once I click over a feature. My colleagues and I are very distraught by this feature, and will be discontinuing our use of your products that do not allow us to turn this feature off. I'm not sure why you'd want to weed your customer base like this, assuming that I can't turn this option off from the research I've done pouring through the hundreds of complaints related to this issue. I haven't been able to find any posts recently, or regarding Inventor 2013 specificially on this issue, so I was hoping this version had the option of turning it off.
